Dude this is fricken awesome. Chicagoan here and growing up I could only dream of watching home games on TV. Only on WBBM on the radio. That Al for posting
It's still more watchable than all the others like MLB, NFL and especially nba. But yes definitely getting more and more like nba where if u flicked a 7 ft tall man they go flying embellishing every little thing making them look like such pu**ies
I agree with you, but turnabout is fair play. How would the skill level of players back then match up against the skill level of modern players? Today’s players’ skill level is off the charts. I do miss the physical intensity of the past, however.
@@gooddognigel9992 clutch and grab means the girly boys of the modern NHL would have to scream and cry while Peter Forsberg punches them in the face and pretends they fell in the kitchen
@ the toughness between players now and then is like night and day. Players back then were as tough as nails. Modern players have an unbelievably high skill set. The question is: do we play by rules then or now?
Everyone take time to thank Gary from the bottom of your heart. *This* is what he took from us and *this* is what he’s ensured we will never *ever* see again. I’m surprised every player involved in the Devils/Rangers brawl last year wasn’t suspended.
The North Stars upset the Blackhawks in the first round of the playoffs that year despite finishing with just 67 points, far behind Chicago, which won the President’s Trophy for best record in the league with 106 points. Minnesota eventually lost in six games to Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Finals.
@@JJ-fg2wd Yes, and he wasn't very pretty to begin with. One helluva fighter though. Ranks up there with Link and Richter as the three top North Star all-time best fighters.
If you dared to venture into the balcony at Chicago Stadium when the Hawks and No-Stars played, you might hear : "Fee fi fo fum,Dino (Ciccarelli) is a fucking bum!"
I always hated the Minnesota North Stars 😡, but I love the Wild!! 10:50, how cool Troy Murray scores a goal!! Stu Grimson, Chelios , Mike Keenan 😂, you better not ever lose a fight because Mike Keenan would beat you to death if you did. Man was he a tough Coach.

0:54 "The Chicago Blackhawk modus-operandi is a gang-warfare approach"
That was the entire Norris Division from 1982-1993.
Can you imagine the players today playing in this league? Try your fancy tricks when you're being ridden into the glass
Try a Michigan with Hextall or Belfour in net🤣

I love watching the fights from the 70s.

Now that is the Minnesota jersey we need back! Best jersey in league history 🙂 I liked the team just for their jerseys 🙂
Not with the black. And the Dallas logo creeping in already.
And their logo
Norris gold from Vindiggs, again.
Thanks, man. Tomorrow is Adams gold.
Keep them coming ! 👍🏻much appreciated
This upload reminds us how bad of a goalie Hayward was.
Yes he was , brutal at times
Sure looked weak in this game
Absolutely horrible. Officiating crew blew balls too.

Tinordi's face was carved up like a Thanksgiving turkey

I just can't get excited about a Hawks Wild game
Kids, this is hockey. Not the crap they pass off as hockey today
Yes Grandad.
Exactly what I say about today's basketball 😎🍺💯

A preview of their playoff series
7:21 why is the goalie standing upright?
Who were the announcers for this game? Anyone know?
If I remember correctly, it’s Bob Kurtz and Chico Resch. Pure gold as a north stars fan!
The Play by Play announcer is Doug McLeod
Tha Norris Division!
Bring it back, immediately buying season tickets lol
They did, kinda, Mtl Won it
Good old "Chuck Norris" Division 💪🏻
This was the year the North Stars went to the cup finals?
Yes vs Pittsburgh
Yes, the series that gave us the infamous "Bellows, you p*ssy!"
Fast forward a few years and you can watch Grimson give Churla a face period.
Oh my, McRae actually threw punches. It was usually wrestlemania when he was involved.
McRae was a good fighter in his prime, just like "Chainsaw" Churla
Good call, of all the fighters during this era, McCrae was, not so much
You should watch more McRae's fight 👊🏻
change the name back to the North Stars..and bring back those jerseys!
Not sure what Brian Hayward sucks at more: goaltending or color commentary
He won three Jennings
Old time hockey. huh.... ? putting on the foil.
Go Leafs
