That dome will work as well as the old Victorian vegetable gardens - just with a lid on! The reflective panels do the same as the north wall in the Victorian: sending light and warmth down to the crops! That greenhouse is going to very productive - it was a very wise choice for your location!
Oh yes! I saw you had uploaded part 2 and got prepared. So excited! Prepared my dinner, got my iced tea, woolie socks on and I am so ready. You did not disappoint. I admit this is the first time since you had to leave the Original homestead that I have felt like you were "home again". I saw the pots being hung, the Berkey, and knew you had made it YOURS. The amount of hard physical work you accomplish is amazing. To have the fortitude to do it once , and have that dream taken from you, and to do it all over again, is admirable. I think you could help a lot of people with a book explaining how you motivate yourself . I imagine some of it is genetics and you already have a massive drive, but it also takes personal grit ,to do things on the scale you do.
Imagine climbing the Pyramid of Giza back around 1970 and standing at the very top ... I know someone who says he did this and i believe him ... he had a very hard time describing the energy that flowed up through him but he said he knew it was transformative ... and very powerful .
Many years ago, 1970 I believe, I attended a lecture by Buckminster Fuller, in person, the inventor of the Geodesic Dome along with numerous other creative inventions. He could lecture for hours straight with only a 15 minute nap every 4 hours. A real character.
Thank you 🙏 so very much for sharing your videos.......one..it is fun watching you work so hard..two..love what you share..three...your videos are peaceful and not filled with music just nature sounds!..God bless this man abundantly and keep him safe and healthy!

The Black-headed Grosbeak has a similar song but does his chorus from lower down in the forest, so their are layers of voices coming from all about. Down low the sprite of our woods the Winter Wren sings year round in the most cheerful way and if approached it will sings but in a "whisper "so that when you are feet away if you listen you still enjoy their bright melody.
You know you are home when i cast iron frying pans get hung up. Great video
How do you get up and do that every day?! Love your videos! Especially the ones where you just show your work, no talking, none needed!
As I was watching this I was cooking dinner on the fire in our backyard and all the while doing so I was letting my wife know that I was bringing out my inner Shawn😋😋
🤣😂😁💗
You even make stressful situations peaceful! I feel like I know you and your family at this point and I’m so excited for you all.
The crackling fire in the background....love it
I totally agree and you and only a minute ago was thinking about how wonderful it sounds .
People who have gas fireplaces and don't mind the Silence of it could never understand why just having a wood burning fireplace is so important to people like us ... I always love the crackling sound and the smell of the wood burning ... sometimes it's nice to throw in a little bit of Jupiter or Rosemary .
Excellent Shawn, now this is the real 60 minutes. Can’t wait to see the complete video. All the best buddy, stay safe.
That dome will work as well as the old Victorian vegetable gardens - just with a lid on! The reflective panels do the same as the north wall in the Victorian: sending light and warmth down to the crops! That greenhouse is going to very productive - it was a very wise choice for your location!

What part of New Mexico are you in ? I'm here in the suburbs of Dallas myself

Just finished watching you on the other channel, and this one shows up. Happy Friday Shaw! Have yourself a great weekend!
The dome is more complicated than I thought. Getting over my initial sadness of your having to leave your last masterpiece and begin Homestead 2. And Callie helped.
You're the third person I have seen mention here about him losing his Homestead ...?
I'm very sad to hear this actually I am very shocked but can somebody please explain to me what in the world happened ?
I haven't been watching this much in the past half-year and i have a good bit of getting caught up on .
@@gardensofthegods He had a neighbor that was harassing him and his family, and the ladies were afraid of him. Apparently they were right to be afraid ... the RCMP were very much aware of this guy. Also there is going to be a road built going right past one side of his property. So the whole family decided it would be best to start over.
@@wildrose4411 Wow , that's really a shame . Can you tell me what kind of things that guy was doing ... or do you know the name of the video where he talks about all this ?
I cannot for the life of me imagine what it would be like after building everything from scratch to have to leave it .
Just really sounds painful . That's terrible
@@gardensofthegods I don't remember all the details, but I know Shawn had to call the police at one point. This man was making crude and vulgar comments about his daughter for one thing, and he would park a van at the edge of Shawn's property and play extremely loud music day and night. He was obviously familiar with Shawn's UA-cam channels. I know there were other incidents, but I can't remember exactly, and I can't find the video where he explains all of this. It is really sad that people like this get pleasure out of making other peoples lives miserable.
Already loving the new site. A longer, peaceful view, more varied terrain. Come
to camp, light fire, work, cook, work, eat.
Dome looks great. You'll be growing food in there in no time. Great start, Shawn 🌿
That greenhouse will be a welcome respite in the middle of winter!
People & doggie heaven! Love the This is going to be fantastic homestead.
And that is a lucky dog no walking on concrete or blacktop for him .
I can't believe how some people never let their dogs run or walk on grass ... I always feel so sad for them .
Can you please tell me what happened as I saw a comment and someone said he lost his Homestead and this is the new one... I have a lot of catching up to do with this channel in the past half-year .
Glad to see everybody back👍🐕👋
I actually cried when you told about your crazy neighbor, and deciding to move and start over. You had worked so hard. but, look at it this way ,you can change some things to make it better. You should build a bed room off the kitchen so your wife can have some privacy when she needs it . I'm sure she would like that much better . Just ask her.
@@fayharper6267 They're in the wilderness, other than the local wildlife seeing her, ya can't get much more private than that. I used to chuckle at my wife when we'd be in the bedroom and our 2 cats would come in and see what we're doing. She called them our audience.
@@fayharper6267 I have already told Shawn, If this new cabin is not all electric with indoor plumbing and a ground floor bedroom, I am divorcing him.
Shawn have many people asked you to do talks or mentor their sons, its what the world needs .respect to you sir .
Shawn, you accomplished so much, even before your greenhouse partner showed up. You never cease to amaze me. The video,& the results of your hard work was magnificent. Looking forward to the next segment. Stay safe,& healthy.💯👍🏾🙋🏽♀️✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
So wonderful to watch & no 'ELF in sight. That's Health & safety Exec. How on earth did we make it this far????!!!! It astounds me when my husband & I have done projects & younger people ask was a risk assessment done?? Ordinarily I'd send that one home, 'coz all day they'd be worry about anything & everything & most likely the one whose gonna get hurt!
Thank you for sharing you & your families dream 'coz it wouldn't happen with out them right! I am of an age where my body would let me down now... so, it's wonderful to see what your pure grit & determination is achieving!! Sterling work, so relaxing & peaceful.

When the news is flooded with war, it's time for some Shawn James and a peace of mind
Can I get an “Amen”? 😎
I believe I could watch Schwan watching paint dry. So energetic, a man with a mission. Even though I personally at my age will never be able to try all of this...I swear I learn something new from him every time I watch, some of it I can use and some of it I just have to file away and wish I was 30 years younger. But, as they say, you’re never too old to learn. This man is a teacher 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 🙏 love the super long videos, great to watch something to warm the soul…amidst all the madness of the world at the moment.

AAARGH 😵 .. stuff of nightmares ..
Herewith some Useless Information ..
In Southern Africa, in the Namaqualand up against the Orange River we have our 'Miggies' (biting midges). If the Provincial Government forget (as they occasionally do) to conduct the Annual 'Spray', the Nightmare descends. Lambs suffer greatly and often starve to death as the Mothers spend their time huddled together as protection against the swarms. Insect repellent .. ketchup for them. As they head for the highest point on one's body, holding one's hand above one's head .. even better a tree branch attracts them upwards .. well some ..
I think thats why Shawn kept the fire smoky.
It never fails. I always get hungry and get the urge to cook on an open fire, when I watch these videos.🙂
Had to laugh at myself. Mowed a small lawn and was kaput. Shawn here with his Popeye arms lifting logs -n- stuff making me all kinds of embarrassed. LOL
I know the feeling. LOL
as an old teacher once told me: it's all about practice, practice and practice
let me share this bit of wisdom..... " if you want to change the world, sweep your own porch "......
it all begins with you.... and you did mow the grass..... kudos !!!!
I have a small lawn with a lot of stuff to move and obstacles that can't be moved. Also a hill. The mower is electric so I move THAT cord a lot! And YES! By the time I put everything were it belongs and clean the mower, weed eater, and sweep the sidewalks, I am one tired nana of nine. OOF tah!
It's truly a choice to keep busy and fit. Choices in making the right choices is from the knowledge we obtain from this world that matters to all life we should always be striving for higher knowledge. Humans used to be smart once upon a time with ancient cultures. Now it's just rape, waste, pillage and piracy of our world of abundance.
All the best with your new homestead from Ireland 🇮🇪
Good Friday Shawn & Cali🐕!👍
I'm watching this morning with a heating pad on my sore back thinking YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

I love funny moment with bug walking on camera lens saying “Hi there “
Haha, definitely, and then immediately after, the one guy asks if he's ever had a bug get on the camera lense.
This man is iron man. Such a strong man. Lifted heavy logs and work al time. Amazed.
ah yes progress, looking great!
I think sometimes people stay in situations that have conflict because they don't see that they can change it. Kudos for getting out of usless ongoing conflict. Lots of work but you are good at it.

What an amazing place to wake up to everyday
Years ago i lived on a 232 Acres small dairy farm in Ohio ... it was an incredible experience .
I am already jealous. Shelter up, pans hanging, moose fence in place, and one hell of a green house. I be in hog heaven to start the summer. That green house would be a life saver, plus the veggie department. Looking good.
That is one incredible piece of engineering Shawn! Great video.

this dome will be so awesome in a couple of years. You will maybe start a
new dome revolution. Very good insight whoever decided to go with this
green house design. Bucky Fuller would be proud and you should be too.
The scaffolding tipping gave me a huge fright! I can't imagine how it must have felt. Good catch though.
I think, thought he was walking the scaffolding to another spot. Didn’t look like an accident to me. I may be wrong 😑

I get that the ridges give strength, but oh, my OCD with their orientations. This is going to be so useful. Congrats on receiving it and their help in constructing.
You are a true nest maker!
Place is looking amazing! Love the picket fence!
When you initially showed the wetlands my first thought was, “I wonder if they have peepers?” Guess I have my answer! Hope they aren’t too deafening ... 🐸 🐸.
I love the fact that one side of the greenhouse is shaded. You could grow a Banana tree!
The more I see of this new homestead site, the better I like it. I think it's geographically much more suitable than the old one.
That is just amazing man!

Imagine how the pyramid builders felt when they placed a 2 ton stone and realized that the corners were in the wrong orientation. Great job, guys.
Imagine climbing the Pyramid of Giza back around 1970 and standing at the very top ... I know someone who says he did this and i believe him ... he had a very hard time describing the energy that flowed up through him but he said he knew it was transformative ... and very powerful .
UGH! Or something to that nature that can't be repeated in mixed company?
LoL. Pyramid statement. Ha
those aint the egyptians that built it if even same species as us; graham hancock...
They didn’t.👍🏻
Many years ago, 1970 I believe, I attended a lecture by Buckminster Fuller, in person, the inventor of the Geodesic Dome along with numerous other creative inventions. He could lecture for hours straight with only a 15 minute nap every 4 hours. A real character.
Thank you 🙏 so very much for sharing your videos.......one..it is fun watching you work so hard..two..love what you share..three...your videos are peaceful and not filled with music just nature sounds!..God bless this man abundantly and keep him safe and healthy!
