The Matt Rempe effect is real: He gets into the head of the opponents. And when you can make the opponent thinking and hearing steps it gives you an edge. If you look back at his game in Dallas- before the incident- he drawn 3 penalties on his own. Considering that the umpires don't give him any break that was an accomplishment. Numbers speak for themselves: 17-4-1 with Rempe in the lineup. You can't ignore that stat in my humble opinion.
I totally agree..you can see opposition tense up and are constantly tracking him on ice. Using him to bust up opponents momentums and control pace long enough for NYR to find their gears could work big, done correctly. Just gotta keep Rempe smart.
I was at the game against Jersey yesterday. Even though he was letting up on hits (responsibly so) players think they’re gonna get leveled anytime he’s out there. It’s just something that looms over the other team when they’re out there. He was good in the forecheck and in the neutral zone. Looked a little sluggish late in the game but had a good one.
If Rempe is in any way contributing to he Rangers being 17-4-2 when he is in the lineup it is because the only plays 5min or less giving better players more playing time. Could accomplish the same thing rolling 3 lines instead of 4. It's basically like saying that a team is 17-4-2 when allowing the first goal so they should just let their opponent score first every game.
Lindgren doesn't have the size but he plays like he does unlike Miller who has size and plays like he doesn't . I say keep Lindgren he gives it his all everytime he's on the ice !
I can’t argue with lindgren having the work ethic, but unfortunately he’s just not that good anymore, I think both miller and lindgren need to go unless they turn it around for good
Oh, I agree completely; spot on; At least Lindgren gives his body, literally for that team and what is his reward by the Rangers, he is on the trade block! Miller looks like he plays non chalantly, like not a care in the world. The reason Lindgren & Jones are on the block is because they are not 6'3" 210LBS; but they give everything they got!
All Rangers fans have been focused on wins and loses in the Metropolitan Conference for the Rangers to make the playoffs. The team has to take advantage of loses by teams that are ahead of them and capitalize for points are very crucial starting as of now. The team had a lot of spunk and opportunities and failed and this they have to polish up if they intend of making the run for Lord Stanley.
Umm They played a 1-3-1 all year last year and changed it this year to a 1-2-2 and thats was the issue they went to a more comfortable system so the 1-3-1 isnt new
Real question, how is it unlikely the rangers make the plays offs? They’re 4 points below the COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS who have played 1 more game than the Rangers. What makes you think last year’s president trophy winner can’t turn it around and beat a bad team out of a playoff spot?
I believe giradi won a cup after he got traded. Not all physcial defensemen wear down. Tanev still doing it. Say what u want about trouba but still a solid #4. It's clear Peter and Mangement hasent had their players backs and not having defensive structure. Lindgren is a #6 easy but because he has paired well with Fox in the past he adds value... now that being said. Every Stanley cup winner in the cap era has had a #1defensmen that can play defense. Fox cannot break up a pass for his life. And if isn't their #1 dman it's at least a Towes or Seabrook as a #2... showing how a Seabrook and towes helps their Ofd shine...kinda like methot with Karlson. Never under estimate the value of a Dfd. We are better off with Lindgren then Miller. Miller is awful and a liability. I still think we should let Lindgren walk. Their really is no point trading him even for a 3rd round pick.
Take care of your end and squeak a couple of goals on the offensive side and you'll win more than you'll lose. Special teams need to improve as well because that can be the difference in winning and losing. This team still needs to move out some players and hopefully Drury see's that as well. We need bigger and tougher defensemen . I would call Anaheim and inquire about Gudas. If Vancouver is serious about trading Petterson the Rangers should be all in on that. Again i would still hire Messier as president to oversee Drury.
I dont get this coach. Aside from fox, Schneider is the best d man. Put him on 2nd pair with borgen. Why keep miller on 2nd pair. Hes on for literally every goal against. When your at the point of celebrating that a guy had 1 good game, its not good.
Lindgren is physically incapable of the job and when we continue to roll him out there at the cost to developing kids like Mancini or ruining kids like Zac Jones then you have to grow up and accept the fact that his time is coming to and end. It happens to everyone, your favo4rite player or not. Lindgren is the reason why Igor has to go on IR, he clattered into his own goalie and injured him. He did the same thing to Quickie too. Let him go, it's time. Your infatuation with Rempe is odd. He's not a good hockey player, maybe he will be, but that's up to him. But the fact that he gets the nod over other young players and Lindgren gets rolled out there night after night which has now cost us Zac Jones and has stymied Mancini. Further proof that the Rangers are not a well managed or conceived team.
True indeed. I believe It's because of Rempe presence, that gives them an edge, a toughness that teams will have to respect. Without him they don't respect the Rangers and will bully them. The enforcer factor on a team matters

This is factual. 🧐

You can definitely see the devils way more timid when he was on the ice looking over there shoulders

Schneider played so much better when paired with Jones. And stats show it as well.
Exactly 1rtt1,but Lavi is still holding a grudge for Zac complaining. So childish.

Id love to see rantanen in ranger blue
been saying that for almost a year now!!!
@boxingfan5555 i think it can be a real possibility. The rangers are gonna look alot different next yr
That intro was gold 😂😂😂
Umm They played a 1-3-1 all year last year and changed it this year to a 1-2-2 and thats was the issue they went to a more comfortable system so the 1-3-1 isnt new
The rangers did not play a 1-3-1 last year consistently
GO rempe go rangers
They should try encourage Rempe to set up in the front of the net , who’s gonna have the balls to move him out ??

They're playing with some confidence now.
Play some good fundamental hockey, and good things happen.
The rangers need to get bigger and stronger.
They don't have to be bigger, just stronger, grinders like Trocheck.
The only thing that has changed is they are scoring on the PP still can’t score 5v5 and that’s what you need for the postseason
I like Lindgren. I'm still trading him because Physical D wear down fast (Girardi, Staal, etc.).

Glad Miller played better, makes it easier to trade him.
Rangers are playong alot better but they should still re tool for next year.

Miller needs to go. The sooner, the better.
Lindgren is tuff but he is not big enough.

100% agree
Vegas and Colorado are going to be measuring sticks…
Get rid of Miller he's terrible. Rempe Rangers play much better with him in the line up .he seems to light the team on fire
Rempe stays love em or hate him.. team wins when he’s in the line up… Lingren is back but still need to go …. Trade Keider for a haul,

It’s always easy to criticize. How many of you ,that like to judge, can even skate??!
Miller, Lindgren, Mika and Chytil need to be traded this year. And if possible Panarin. start smart rebuild.
Panarin are you kidding
chytil and panarin????
@@boxingfan5555 Exactly what i thought.You don't trade Bread,Chytil
Lindgren is a liabilty stop it. He aint the only d man liability
