Martin Wickramasinghe (1890-1976) is an outstanding Sri Lankan writer who was born and lived in the Koggala area. For his novels but also sociological works and literary criticism he is called the father of the Sinhalese literature. The setting of his books is almost exclusively the Koggala village. The stories of his novels are known because it is part of the curriculum in the Sinhalese schools. The Martin

Besides this mansion, the museum buildings comprise houses of typical villagers with exposition about the countryside life of the region.
