- Went kayak bass fishing in Central West Virginia to a new lake. Fished for a few hours without much luck until this musky hit a jig. One of the craziest fights I've ever experienced.
Crazy that musky never got off, must have had him hooked perfectly lol
Lesson learned, always bring a net
Or beach em lol
Wow, crazy catch! Congrats on getting the fish of 10,000 casts.
Shaggy _ I got one at Burnsville lake on chicken liver
No matter how well you try to handle a fish. People will bitch and moan at you. They don't take into consideration that the thing has huge teeth and it's not exactly easy to calmly handle a musky.
i know plus when youre a bass guy and not well verse in muskie...people need to understand its difficult to handle other fish youre not used to...
What lake was this
he’ll being a net next time!!!! nice catch. and the foot block to keep em in!!! hahaha
NICE FISH I LOOK FOR PEOPLE THAT FISH WV ON U TUBE WE DON'T GET NEAR THE PUBLICITY WE DESERVE NEW SUB HERE MAN
best hidden musky, walleye, and smallmouth gem in the country. ive been a lot of places and other than erie during the spawn (bc who doesnt like sight fishing for 4-6lb smallies) i would rather fish our polished turd than anywhere else in the country hahaha
Agreed! Lived in WV for 25+ years and can attest to the great fishing!
DubV1610 You ever watch bass geek? He lives in WV and is always reeling in hogs. Im jealous as I’m in Ohio and other than Lake Erie and some rivers it pretty much sucks up here lol.
Nice ...I bass fish all the time and always get bit off by pikes...wow how cool ...glad you caught it on cam
Awesome fish and good release. Two things surprised me: 1 you didn’t end up with a snapped pole. 2 the muskie swam away alive, most will die if not returned quickly.
Good job!
Lived in WV most of my life, curious what lake this is? Looks somewhat familiar but can’t pinpoint it.
Congrats on the excellent catch!
No net, your a man amongst men.
Absolutely amazing Nick
What lake is that? Expertly played and lots of fun to watch.
Awesome job playing that fish! 🔥🔥🔥
You're gonna need a bigger boat.
That was a hell of a fight 😂😂
Awesome video! Congrats on catching a Musky
Nice Ski'! Great job on the catch and release!
Nice Musky!
It’s way better than going musky fishing and catching a bass...
Future reference get a fish gripper.
17lbs? No way. I’d say more like 25-30
Nice job from start to finish.
was this Huey?
that is not how u treat a fish pitiful
Is that mount wood in parkersburg
Hermoculous no it's not
@@ohioriverangler2003 looks like north bend lake ?
Without a net?! Nice job!
Nice video!
Bro, Lmao I was terrified watching that rod bend the whole time lol I snapped 2 different rods in florida from 7lb+ bass swimming under my kayak ... So seeing that frickn' monster rape that rod was horrifying lol other than that I thought the video was awesome bruh
It happened to me too .. I was at ladue reservoir close to Cleveland... I get to the water before my friends .. which where 30 min late ... and I caught a northern pike... never caught one before .. so I was afraid to touch it ... but I always bring my fishing lip grip .. or whatever you called it ... and I was able to release the pike after 8 min of fight ... he swims alway just fine ... was probably that big ...
You killed that musky, dude. Be more careful next time...
cappin9 I revived her for about 2 minutes. She swam away just fine.
cappin9 nothing in this video indicates he killed the muskie, you can't do anything about it when you catch a muskie on accident with light tackle, it's going to be a long fight. The fish didn't go belly up and he skipped a lot of the reviving portion.
Yup, it's nice fish, but if you want to release it, you propably shouldn't keep it in your boat, but release it just after catch.

Not very good fish handling!!
I consider muskies and flatheads a nuisance and break them off when I get them to the boat.
Michael Hillman well, I consider 1 musky a nuisance when I am targeting walleyes. In my 40 plus years of fishing I accidentally hooked up with more than a few. Absolutely your are a more accomplished fisherman than I, and we don't even know each other
Too each their own sir! Just glad too see other people enjoy fishing as well as I do. Keep tight lines my friend.
💪👊🖒🖒🖒
Why did you let it go bro that would have been great dinner lol
Slavic Yarygin haha I'm a catch and release guy.
Wow lol could've gave it to me😂😜
muskie's aren't eating fish, just out of respect for other fisherman
DD oh ok thanks for letting me know
now northern pike on the other hand are fucking great for eating
That fish was beyond stressed out.. there is a good chance it could of died regardless of it swimming away or not just facts.. hope you learned your lesson and you should always be prepared regardless
Funeral Flow I put it on fish grips and had it in the water long enough for her to swim off and be okay.
First off, Nick great catch! Sure is fun fighting those monsters on light tackle, isn't it? (of course by accident)
Secondly, Funeral Flow, learn his lesson? He was bass fishing! So you mean to tell me, he needs to have extra gear in his kayak to be able to handle a muskie? Have you have ever fished from a kayak? No way you're going to have everything you need for every single scenario. Also, there is nothing indicating from this video, that the fish died. How about we congratulate a fellow fisherman on a job well done, and great catch? Heck I am glad he didn't club-it over the head, or leave it laying up on the bank. That happens quite often where I am from.
+Funeral Flow - you're not smart
Be more prepared? hard to be prepared to have a musky on your line for bass.. He isnt gonna fish bass on musky tackle
So he should use a 7ft musky rod and 65lb braid if he goes bluegill fishing "just in case" a musky bites his bait?? Relax bud. I'm sure the musky is just fine
