    i've personally used this method before and it works. NOW LISTEN, it might NOT grow your lashes, BUT. the oils are very good for your eyelashes. This causes your lashes to become moisturized which increases the volume of the strand. This helps make the eyelashes look thicker and if they're more noticeable, it will seem like an illusion that they become longer. However, naturally the oils will clean dirt from the pores above your lash line, this will encourage new hair growth or cause old hairs to grow just a tiny bit more. So it may not be as drastic as they claim. But this method does work for most people.

    This totally works. I suffered from trichotillomania for a few years and have just recently started to overcome this problem. I came across this DIY method and within a month I started to see major results. My lashes are fully grown back now and I couldn't be happier. Carli, you are my inspiration in learning make-up and with my channel aspirations. 💕

    I'm a natural redhead with tiny light eyelashes, I've been using this for about 3 months and I'm amazed! My lashes are noticeably longer, thicker and the natural color even drakes a bit. Also my brows were not as full as I'd like and my eyebrow lady even made a comment that they were growing in thicker. Thank you a hundred times over for this video. I love the natural alternative! 😊

    U can make ur own coconut oil . Just buy coconut milk in can then put in a pot and low heat. Just let it simmer in there. Dont stir too much. Just let it boil. Wait for it ti turn dark brown and solid. Then just get the oil from it ;) more natural and no chemicals added ;)

      Aww Carli I am so glad you liked my special serum I gave you. I knew it would work for you. Your eyelashes and brows look amazing. And to answer a few of the questions I read of course you can out it in your scalp. I put it on my eyelashes and brows and call every night before bed when you put it on your scalp really massage is in and really fast after wrap your head in a plastic bag or towel to keep in the heat. If you want you could just do your hair once a week depending on your hair

      Coconut and avocado are among the many oils that promote hair growth. You can use them on your hair (scalp and ends). It does make your hair oily, I recommend applying it to your hair either over night or a couple hours before washing it out. It works best if you apply it warm, so sit the container with the oils in hot water for 3mins, it's actually called a hot oil treatment. Hope this helps!

    yes it made my hair grow thicker and longer super fast, on my head!..i use the same exact coconut oil carli uses [or use any ORGANIC cold pressed UNREFINED] and mix some castor [optional, i use castor every 2 weeks with coconut and coconut alone every other].. do it on DRY hair [it will absorb MUCHHH BETTER] and scalp once a week, massage hair with head facing down to your knees for 5 min, legs kind of straight...gently massage all over [kind of like inversion method] pull up slowly not so fast cause you just had blood rushing to your scalp for 5 min...and then leave oil on overnight....when you wake up you then apply shampoo straight to the hair first DO NOT ADD WATER FIRST ITS HARDER TO RINSE OUT., shampoo, lather well, rinse, shampoo again, follow by a deep mask for a few min [or just use regular conditioner] and voila. hair full of body, shine and bounce. i do it EVERY SINGLE WEEK and my hair turned from dry, brittle, lifeless, limp to amazing commercial hair plus I grew 4 inches in 2 months due to the massage [i also massage EVERY NIGHT with no oil] not everyone is the same but my hair grows so so so slow do this was huge to me =]

    Just an FYI: ALWAYS store oils in glass or ceramic containers!! The oil properties will leach out the petroleum and dioxin contained in plastic bottles and turn a natural, organic products into poison.

    • @libertine40
      @libertine40 10 років тому +16

      Nerdy Bunny Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I take regular breaks from technology, lol. Just to focus my mind on other things - like books, research (in the library, lol) and writing.
      My question to is this: How many dozens of instances, since the beginning of the industrial revolution began in the late 19th century, has there been issues where corporations sell, market or package items in ways that are inappropriate, that come out to the public 10 to 20 years later. After a whole generation of people have been using, applying or imbibing those products? Plastic containers are one of them. Why is it that organic herb companies DON'T put fluid extracts and tinctures in plastic packaging? Or higher end natural/organic cosmetics, like Ecco Bella and Burt's Bees (non of their products containing volatile oils are in plastic and the rest is non-PVC)? The higher end waters come in glass bottles as well.
      The problem with plastic - esp. those containing PVC - are Phthalates (BPA & DEHP), which are used to soften plastics to make them bendy. It is an extremely toxic chemical that's ok in the trace amounts found naturally in soil but when it leaches out into organic materials that sit in boxes and shelves for long periods...NO It causes birth defects and abnormal growth in children. PVC containing plastics are banned in toys in the EU and the US Toy Manufacturers Association has voluntarily stopped the use of phthalates in toys for children under three. Because of consumer awareness, many US companies have chosen not to use it. The issue here in the US is that some (but not nearly enough or all) water, soda and juice and food manufacturers use non-PVC packaging, Most cosmetics companies are not concerned either. Yet, care still has to be taken with bottles that have alumanim tops lined with plastic because that plastic is always PVC. The scariest example of this is baby food. Even thermoses and kitchen food processing items use plastics that contain PVC! The naturally occurring volatile chemicals found in oils, which give them their healing and cleansing properties - esp citrus and herbal oils like Rosemary and Thyme, leach the poisonous, manufactured chemicals out of ALL plastic whether they contain PVC or not. The best storage containers for any food stuffs is glass and stainless steel.
      I never require anyone's belief. I always suggest that one should research issues, topics, etc. for themselves. So check it out if you're curious. I certainly was when I noticed that Mountain Spring, Belu, Pelligrino, and other waters of that caliber, used glass containers and unlined stainless steel tops.

      +mscee I was referring to oil essences, Food grade Coconut, olive and palm oils; cocoa butter and glycerin are sold in both plastic and glass containers. I'm only suggesting one stick to products packaged in glass to be transferred to glass for storage when you want to store a large quanityty, such as what Mister Eftup indicated. Or if you want to store a mixture of oils.

    This is awesome, Carli. I remember friend's mom back in India used to apply castor oil on her eyebrows cause she had them so light. It worked! Your recipe is even better because coconut oil and long luscious hair go hand in hand. All my South Indian friends have the best hair because they not only regularly apply coconut oil to hair/scalp but use it in their diet too.
    Btw, what do you use to remove your make up? I am going to search your videos to see if it's already there but thought I'd ask also. Thanks for your video tutorials. I discovered them and this blog today and already love it. I'm going to try out some of the methods to apply eye make up.

    When I was younger I had long full lashes but I was a tomboy and they used to tickle the top of my lids or get in my eyes so I got into the habit around 10 years old of cutting them with scissors or pulling them.. When I hit puberty and got into make up I regretted my younger habits my lashes are full but they don't grow anymore it's just sad that I have to use lash extending mascara to get them how they used to be... My niece now has the same lashes of when I was younger and I told her to deal with them as when she gets older she will feel diff about it

    I'm surprised these oils aren't irritating the eyes. Also, don't worry about reusing those mascara wands. I like how you mention about how they can have bacteria on them, because that is a factor and why it's best to not double dip into mascara that is used on multiple people or use your own personal mascara. What we do in high end spas is actually wash the mascara wands after each use (not after each stroke, just after each customer, and use a new mascara wand for each dip we need, so that they stay "fresh" and contaminant free). Washing them instead of always disposing them is much more economic and less wasteful of material. Regular antibacterial hand soap and water is fine to wash the mascara wands and storing them in a proper place where they do not accumulate any dust from the air will also help keep them hygienic and safe ^_^

    I have heard that castor oil works to grow eyelashes but some people say it also makes them fall out. I think it's worth trying. I have made soaps and natural products before and coconut oil is amazing. You can use it to remove makeup, as a moisturizer, you can put a little on your hair to condition it or give it texture. It's my favorite thing and I keep it in the bathroom for skincare. It soaks right in and does not leave grease on your skin. The avocado oil is very rich and greasy and will not be something you need much of. The castor oil is the real thing that grows lashes. It is an old, old beauty secret. But some complain it does make you lose a lash here or there. I think that is the natural shedding of old lashes and new lashes will just grow in their place. It is well known in the soap making community that castor oil is amazing for growing eyelashes.

      Yes you can! All the ingredients are organic, and they're filled with vitamins which could help grow your hair, but not make your thicker that is to do with your genetic make up and you can't change that :)

    • @kathart435
      @kathart435 9 років тому

      Natasha Thompson You can actually make your hair thicker by doing henna treatments. It adds a lot of volume because it bonds with your hair, although it does give your hair a red color. If you don't want the red, do a henna and indigo mix which will lean towards brown, or black if you use a lot of indigo. Lush has some colors with henna, or you can buy the powders at a store. It's not like chemical dyes so it doesn't damage your hair, it's actually good to do henna treatments. Again, it's originally a dye, the thickness factor is just a bonus. So if you don't want your hair color to change, be careful of what you pick and such.

      +yolandapastoriza i'm glad this recipe worked for you, at home recipes never really did anything to my eyelashes, I had to use virginlash to see any results, which is funny cause it also has Castor Oil in it, but I think it also has bimatoprost as the main ingredient, so that's probably why it worked on me.

  • @jessdransfield1791

    Honestly this DOES work!!! My eyelashes used to break from me trying to get all the mascara off and this mixture strengthens my eyelashes and also cleanses all of the access mascara off that I have missed. To top that off they also have DEFINITELY grown heaps. I took before and after pictures and I can see a massive difference. You can make you hair grow thicker and faster, you just have to find the right mixture for you nothings impossible unless you make it impossible.

      +Rhonda Bentley If you have asian lashes that grow inwards (towards your eyes) DON'T USE VASELINE ON YOUR LASH LINE. If you've ever put mascara without curling and felt it going into your eyes, it's similar. The vaseline will get into your eyes and make your eyes feel so irritated/water.

    I believe everyone has their own preference ( DIY ) on how to make their lashes or eyebrows grow out, there is no right or wrong answer because everyone likes it their own ways and some may not turn out as great, but there are many other options out in the world where some type of product may work for you. She's obviously sharing what works for her so please, don't judge too quick. Money doesn't matter, what matter is trying new things & not regretting what you did before because you know what? it was your choice to buy it in the first place.

    what I like about this technique is that it uses the combination of the oils to supply nutrients to the hair follicles as well as use the fingers and the bristles of the mascara brush to stimulate the hair follicles to help them grow. It's best not to do this too often, because we don't want to force them to grow too fast or they will grow weak n break easily, since they didn't have enough time to process the nutrients given to them to help them grow strong and healthy. Everyones growth cycle time is general yet still unique, also I'm unsure how often ideally a beauty exercise like this ought to be done, but it is something I wouldn't mind looking into by asking a teacher at a beauty school or a trusted licensed professional who specializes in hair of the eye area. Very interesting video, I liked it alot ^_^

      Diana- I saw your comment on here and I wanted to tell you from experience that vaseline blocks out good and your eyelashes might appear healthier but WATCH OUT your eyelashes will start falling out! If you want them to grow healthy and your eyelashes not fall out use the castor oil. Castor oil is the main ingredient to growing your lashes out- but coconut oil will make them strong but WATCH OUT because coconut oil can make hair/lashes brittle if exposed to too much proteins (aka coconut oil). Avocado oil is very good for you so definitely add that into the castor oil because avocado is FULL of vitamin E and will help heal your damaged lashes from mascaras and extra. XoXo- Lauren

      I know you've already gotten a lot of responses to your questions, but none of them mentioned this piece of information that I think you should know! Vaseline is made of petrolium jelly, which is very toxic and very BAD for your body! Your body cannot properly process it and once it enters your body, it can do some damaging stuff. Thats why its much better to be safe and use these wonderful natural oils! I hope I helped!

    • @supermodel7187
      @supermodel7187 11 років тому +2

      I had great results using Vaseline on my eyelashes. I just combed it through with a mascara wand every night before bed. If you're wanting hair growth in your eyebrows, I would definitely recommend using Castor Oil. This worked great for me. I did try using Castor Oil on my eyelashes, but, found that it was irritating my eyes, so I had to stop. I didn't have that problem with the Vaseline. I also read a lot of forums saying not to use Castor Oil for eyelashes. Perhaps because of the irritation and being so close to the eye.

      How you do that? It has a recipe?

    • @Kibena3
      @Kibena3 8 років тому

      +TheJamieKeely there really isn't a set recipe I go by. I just squeeze half a lemon out and put enough honey to give a pasty consistency. From there I run it into all areas of my face where I want it to look younger (i.e. Under my eyes) where I want more moisture (i.e. My laugh lines around my mouth which get very dry and irritated) and lastly the places where I no longer want hair (i.e. Chin, upper lip, and peach fuzz on cheek)

    • @Kibena3
      @Kibena3 8 років тому

      +TheJamieKeely lol so pretty much, almost all over my face 😂😂. In any case I have noticed immediately that it has made my skin smoother, shinier. And the hair that would grow in my chin area or upper lip looks a lot lighter. I am very scared to shave or wax my face and I have a lot of peach fuzz so I wanted to find something else that I can do without shaving or waxing and this has helped. Also it has helped a lot with keeping my fave moisturized and the dry spots have almost completely vanished. I would only advise that before doing it you check to make sure you face doesn't have a reaction to the honey or lemon. Everyone skin is different. So once you do that and all is well, try it out and you'll see a big difference 😊😊😊 sorry this is hella long

    • @Sickapig
      @Sickapig 10 років тому +21

      Naw, it's true. The side affects of some lash growth serums can give people brown spots. It's not like it'll make your eyes entirely brown.

    • @kathart435
      @kathart435 9 років тому +11

      PsychoCactus Brown eyes are actually blue underneath (well some anyways), the brown is a coating. I believe that blue eyes can be changed with a product like Latisse, I'm not sure the science behind it but I'm sure it has to do with the same property that causes brown eyes to have that layer over it. Diet also causes eye color to change, it's not the base color but the spots that appear above that. Just as skin tans, eyes can change color because they need that protection.

    • @EMMALPETTEY
      @EMMALPETTEY 9 років тому +1

      blue eyes are just the absent of light therefor if you have brown eyes yes you do have blue eyes underneath and you can change it with surgery

    • @latchinson58
      @latchinson58 9 років тому +3

      Everyone has blue eyes, well not actually blue but clear. It's the way the light catches them that make them appear blue. That's why you can only have your eye colour changed if you go from dark to light... Blue eyes are a genetic mutation and the most natural eye colour is brown. Just saying 😁

    I've always removed my all my makeup & eye makeup with Johnson's baby oil because it dissolves it, then wash that off with soft washcloth & warm water, NO SOAP. (Off brands are not as good and it takes more of it.} All the men ages 38-43 ask me out - they always think I'm age 43-45, no eye wrinkles or forehead wrinkles. But I'm actually 61. You don't need argan oil so pls stop shelling out your hard-earned money. yes, it dries the skin out - read the ingredients. Why do you think QVC & every doctor is selling argon oil?

      Kendall Goode I don't have to justify to anyone why I'm on You Tube -- same reason Ernestine Shepherd, Gwen Stefani and Jane Seymour are all on You Tube. Take a look and see if you can figure it out. Seriously. No one likes a mean girl, Kendall. It shows ugliness from the inside out.

    ''I applied some mascara to show you guys how long my lashes really are''
    No, you applied mascara to make your lashes darker and longer.
    Guys if you want longer lashes the easiest and working way is makeup.

      Tigerlover0923 AJ I have black eyelashes, which are long, but the tips are transparent and you can't see them properly unless the lighting is from the sun or I dab some mascara on the ends. They look completely different once you can see the very ends. I think she did that because cameras can barely pick up the ends of lashes, and she just wanted to show where they actually ended vs. what is missing because of the camera.

    You are such an inspiration to me!!! I love you and your videos SOOO MUCH!!! I work at a middle school and there is a LOT of girls who feel insecure in who they are. I have recommended that they watch you, and they have tried many of your techniques and they have come back the next day feeling beautiful. Although they don't NEED makeup, it is an amazing way to play yourself up. Especially when you're trying to figure out who you are!

    if any of you try this, place the "serum" as close to the lash line or the roots of your lashes as possible or else it might not work

    Hi Carli - does the coconut oil stay in liquid form when mixed with the other oils? Or does it go back to being a solid? How did you get part of your jar to liquify? Thanks!

    • @paigecameron3966
      @paigecameron3966 9 років тому

      +Hannah Mueller If it gets cold, then I'm guessing it'll go back to being a solid, depends if the other oils would go solid too, but I use coconut oil like everyday, it turns more towards liquid with heat so just put it in a warmish room.

    I forgot to say. My son in law is an optometrist and YES Latisse DOES turn the color of your eyes. Sometimes it will turn back SOME, but not always. Also, if you stop using it, your lashes wii
    stop growing again. If this works, it is much cheaper, and you still have not wasted a lot of money!

    If you have been using this method then why does it look like you just bought everything? I dont think this will make your eyelashes grow faster but it will make them healthier and thus have better growth than unhealthy ones. Still though, love your videos!

      I talk on behalf of myself. But I've been using coconut oil and castor oil on my eyelashes every night. Within 1- 2 weeks, no joke, they are longer and fuller. I've also used eyelash serum and found that it can sometimes leave my eyes iterated and takes too long for results. Also too expensive.
      So this natural method is so much better and less expensive. I honestly recommend it.
      Also castor oil is awesome for dark circles, under the eyes and for your hair. I thought I'd share my experience with you.
      All the best.
      God bless. ✝️🙂
