Took me way back to weekends working on old cars with Unc. He had an 8 track player in the 56 Bel Air, it was a red tape with no markings on it. We jammed out to this for yrs. Kept me off the streets and under hoods, where I stay to this day. Thanks Unc!

I HAVE ONLY HEARD THIS TUNE ONCE BEFORE TODAY, AND THAT WAS DECADES AGO!! I WAS IN ANN ARBOR AT A "ALPHA" PARTY AT "MICHIGAN"!! THE BROTHERS HAD A LINE GOING TO THIS TUNE!! I GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE MUSIC, I KEPT SAYING " DAMN WHO IS THIS??" THE PIANO IS WHAT GOT TO ME!! WOULD YOU BELIEVE, I HEARD IT THAT ONE TIME ( I AM NOT TRYING TO DATE MYSELF), BUT THAT WAS BACK IN, AROUND 1968, I NEVER HEARD IT AGAIN UNTIL TONIGHT Aug 10, 2017!! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS TUNE EVER SINCE, DAMN!! SO TONIGHT I AM LISTENING TO SOME TUNES FROM BACK IN THE DAY, AND I SAID TO MYSELF, "LET ME TRY AND SEE IF I CAN PULL UP "THE HOUSE ON ELM STREET", I WAS NOT TO HOPEFUL, I MEAN AFTER DECADES OF LOOKING FOR THIS TUNE WITH NO AVAIL, BUT I TYPED IN THE TUNE AND "LO AND BEHOLD" WALLA THE FIRST TUNE ON THE LIST!! towards the ending I got the feeling this number inspired the groove behind Steely Dan's Do It Again. I love this mood.

I heard this on FM radio in the late 70's, found the album in a little used record shop on Crenshaw. According to the album jacket notes, the personnel on this album were locals, and still in their teens. Amazing talent, wonder if they kept with it?

Harold Johnson went to Washington High in the late sixties, He played every day a noon in the auditorium for free. I would listen to him and the guys Jam. The were a lot better than all the rest at that time in high school. He was discovered by the great Chico Hamilton. The next thing you know the album House on Elm Street hit the air waves, 105.9 the Jazz station. If I`m not mistaken Harold went on teach music.

Yes, Harold is an old schoolmate of mine and a Washington H.S. Alumni (class of S ‘68). Everybody at Washington bought a copy of this album.

I was in the 10th grade when Harold Johnson recorded this masterpiece!
      Very talented.
