  • In this episode, we are talking about how to get started studying for your HR certification exam. Whether it’s with SHRM or HRCI, I encourage students to do what I call a self-assessment. This helps you understand what your strengths and weaknesses are in terms of the body of applied skills and knowledge or the body of applied knowledge. Are you a BASK or are you a BoCK? We cover it all here.

I'm very confused by the sample question. The DOL states that an employee must be given at least 15 days to provide medical certification, and then the employer has 5 days to respond. Can you please let me know which part of the law refers to 5 days for employee medical certification?

I am enjoying your videos! While I knew the answer was B, what is the reason it IS NOT "A"? An employer can reject an employee's physician certification and request a 2nd opinion on their dime.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos! While you are correct that an employer can reject a medical certification and request a second opinion, what we do with our study questions is try to achieve the same level of difficulty that you would experience on the exam. B is the "most correct" response, since the question did not specify that there was a reason to doubt the medical certification. These exams can be tricky! If B was eliminated as an answer, you would be correct in choosing A. Thank you for asking!
