Thank you again for posting another great vintage gymnastics competition! Loved seeing Marcia Frederick and Kathy Johnson’s fine performances (on UB & FX respectively) rewarded with World Championship medals. This was a very big deal for the United States team.
at least she won gold in her favorite apparatus balance beam but she did do a comeback and shock the world again and provide she is truly a true champion

That was not a good time for Nadia. Not only had grown a lot, but she was very unhappy. Against her wishes, the evil Romanian dictator moved her to another city, removed her from her coach, and took away what little freedom she had by confining her (in effect prison).

Even though she was always getting the shit kicked out of her by the Karolyi's Emilia Eberle was a pretty good gymnast.
I always wonder how the Roumanian gymnasts could perform so well after being beaten and esp in the case of Eberle starved.

Lol probably bc whoever recorded this had a b&w 📺 lol. I was born in 77; we had a b&w tv throughout the 80s. Finally got the color 📺 in late80s(?)
Catherine H. - Nadia’s balance beam routine was very solid, but there was at least one minor balance check and a double-stag leap that was too low. Her score of 9.8 was about right.

The american gymnast was not of Mukchina's class. Maybe this fake classment was the reason Mukchina felt so unhappy, that caused the accident after. I don't know. Nadia was good but not in form.
Mukhina and Nellie Kim are better than Commaneci. Commaneci is boring
