It's about a girl going out to be a shepherd for her animals and meeting a boy here. When she sees the boy, the girl instantly starts crying. The boy asks her why is she crying, and she explains that she is scared for her little brother who had to go to war when he was young. The boy comforts her and says that his brother is arriving shortly. The girl stops crying and looks around, just to realise that the brother was standing next to her the whole time.
Very deep and touching folk song… I was in the days that are gone-- I was like an apple flower A cowberry flower on a hillside My father used to call me blossom Mother used to call me the rising sun And a moon my sister called me….
Lyrics: Olin ennen kuin olinki-- olin kuin omenankukka puolankukka kumpareella isä kutsu kukkaseksi emo päivän nousennaksi sisoni sinikeräksi Läksin piennä paimenehen -- lassa lammasten kerälle tulin rannalle ojasen raita rannalla ojasen tuolta poikanen putosi solki suussa, vyö käessä minä raukka itkemähän -- poikanen kyselemähän mitäs itket, nuori neito? itkenpä minä jotaki itken pientä veikkoani en ole sitten silmin nähnyt piennä kun sotahan lähti piennä kun sotahan lähti älä itke veikkoasi -- tuolta veljesi tulevi alta linnan airot souti päältä linnan pää näkyvi minä kurja kuulemahan kurja ja katala katsomahan veikko seisoi vieressäni -- eessäni emosen lapsi
@laelamarie1 It's Finnish Is a story about a girl. She have to look for some sheep or something like that but she is very sad and she's crying. A boy asks her: "Why you are crying?" And the girl says, that her young brother is in war. But the boy says: "Don't be sad your brother is fine." And than the girl notices that the boy, who stands before her, is her borther. :-) I love this story Sorry my english isn't so good Try to search the lyrics of the song and translate with a translation-programm
I was in the days that are gone-- I was like an apple flower A cowberry flower on a hillside My father used to call me blossom Mother used to call me sunrise And a moon my sister called me I went out to tend the cattle-- As a lassie out to herd sheep To a brook I came thus herding On the bank there stood a willow From the willow fell a young lad With a buckle, a belt in his hand I, poor lassie, took to weeping,-- And the youngster wondered, asking What is it you weep for, maiden? There is something that I weep for I do weep for my young brother I have not seen him with my eyes Since he went to war at a young age Since he went to war at a young age Do not weep for your young brother-- Look, there comes now your young brother Under the castle oars are rowing Above the castle the head is looking I, poor lassie, began to listen, I, the wretched one, started looking I, poor lassie, began to listen, I, the wretched one, started looking But my brother stood beside me-- In front of me my mother's young one
I love heavy metal. But when these guys get heavy it's the heaviest. And such beautiful voices I can't understand a word of.
For me too, this is totally hair raising.

I was in the days that are gone--
I was like an apple flower
A cowberry flower on a hillside
My father used to call me blossom
Mother used to call me the rising sun
And a moon my sister called me….
Lyrics: Olin ennen kuin olinki--
olin kuin omenankukka
puolankukka kumpareella
isä kutsu kukkaseksi
emo päivän nousennaksi
sisoni sinikeräksi
Läksin piennä paimenehen --
lassa lammasten kerälle
tulin rannalle ojasen
raita rannalla ojasen
tuolta poikanen putosi
solki suussa, vyö käessä
minä raukka itkemähän --
poikanen kyselemähän
mitäs itket, nuori neito?
itkenpä minä jotaki
itken pientä veikkoani
en ole sitten silmin nähnyt
piennä kun sotahan lähti
piennä kun sotahan lähti
älä itke veikkoasi --
tuolta veljesi tulevi
alta linnan airot souti
päältä linnan pää näkyvi
minä kurja kuulemahan
kurja ja katala katsomahan
veikko seisoi vieressäni --
eessäni emosen lapsi

great song keep coming back
i love this band :* thanks so much
No way, I didn't know that at all! I just keep hearing about how this rap song came out or that one.
I don't know about sexy but very enchanting and mystical, atleast to my perception.

Could someone please post an English translation of the lyrics as well as the original ones? That'd be awesome. :)
I was in the days that are gone--
I was like an apple flower
A cowberry flower on a hillside
My father used to call me blossom
Mother used to call me sunrise
And a moon my sister called me
I went out to tend the cattle--
As a lassie out to herd sheep
To a brook I came thus herding
On the bank there stood a willow
From the willow fell a young lad
With a buckle, a belt in his hand
I, poor lassie, took to weeping,--
And the youngster wondered, asking
What is it you weep for, maiden?
There is something that I weep for
I do weep for my young brother
I have not seen him with my eyes
Since he went to war at a young age
Since he went to war at a young age
Do not weep for your young brother--
Look, there comes now your young brother
Under the castle oars are rowing
Above the castle the head is looking
I, poor lassie, began to listen,
I, the wretched one, started looking
I, poor lassie, began to listen,
I, the wretched one, started looking
But my brother stood beside me--
In front of me my mother's young one
The lyrics are included on the inside cover.
Man we Americans need some more cultural music, and not crap like rap or dubstep.
