Grouting is magical. It just brings everything together. One of the things i love about mosaics. Sunflowers look amazing and the title is a wonderful way to show support to Ukraine.
I had no idea how beautiful the glass was until you did the video of it hanging on the wall and showing the different lighting as you moved around. Absolutely stunning!

Thank you! I was pretty careful to wipe away from the beads with the orange grout and then away from the petals with the black. Tricky spots were in between the flowers!

Gorgeous!!! Let me ask, for learning about color, you have little bits of orange in the sky. I am always amazed at the colors that different artists add and wonder how you see what you are seeing? I don't know if I am being clear. Also, I am amazed at the time you take on the cutting of the tiny pieces of glass, the grouting, and also what you did with the frame. How do you have the patience? Thank you for showing all of your processes.
I wanted to give the sky and sunflowers a relationship to tie the composition together. Also, the bits of complementary color give the sky a sense of energy. Most of the pieces are muted. There is one that is a bit brighter and it is curved to lead your eye around from flower to flower.

What kind of cutting tool is that you used to cut the round sided yellow petals for the sunflower? I just love the use of beads in your work, they are a perfect effect!!
I just used beads, for the first time, in a heart. Initially, I was going to grout and then at the last second added micro beads. I'm not completely happy with the result and will probably have to live with it. How did you do the center of your sunflowers? They are gorgeous.

I do mosaic glass too but your pieces make mine look so ammature, I am going to try and do better. These are absolutely stunning such a magnificent job.

So vibrant. You may have answered this in another video. How did you hang such a heavy piece? What is your base material? Plywood?
The substrate is lightweight. I think I used GoBoard for this. So it's not so heavy.

Beautiful! Not sure if you answered this, but what were the deminsions and for that large size of mosaic how heavy is the finished mosaic?
30” x 30” and I’m guessing it weighs about 15 lbs. It’s on exhibit now so I can’t weigh it!
