      Thank you for the kind words, video is not affiliated with pitch innovations in any way - I was struggling to understand all the features of the Fluid Chords and I forced myself into making this video tutorial in order to understand better how it all works. And , LOL, it helped indeed! For the sounds I was using "Augmented Strings" (intro) and, mainly, the "Pigments" synth from Arturia. "Vocoded" sound coming out of free vst synth "Vital". Also I frequently used internal Fluid Chords sine wave sound for R&B pads.

      Yes, you are right - well spotted, the only way to deal with it right now is record MPE MIDI from the Fluid Chords standalone into the DAW and automate the VST on the respective MIDI/MPE track!

    Thanks for covering this. I love it but it has too few chords slots, 8 chords is limited (for me at least). I’m so used to Cthulhu, Scaler, Ripchord and having as many chords I need. It would be nice to have strum per chord options and velocity per notes. Yes I ask a lot but it’s an expressive instrument right.

    Although I like the idea of FluidChords I'd still like to be able to draw MPE automation myself when necessary. So far, there's only 2 DAWs I've found that allow this: BitWig and Ableton. Cubase has a way to bend individual notes, but it's kind of clunky. I'm more interested in figuring out how to record and edit MPE info in my DAW because I have a Roli Seaboard and Equator, and I'm also thinking of getting SWAM someday. I still think FluidChords will have a place in my workflow once I figure all this MPE stuff out.

    • @MusicianParadise
      @MusicianParadise  Рік тому

      It is possible to edit MPE automation produced by Fluid Chords.You can setup the Fluid Chords as a standalone app and rout MIDI/MPE into your DAW (Ableton or Bitwig). This way you can record MPE automation into the MIDI track and edit it after recording is done, Standalone setup explained at 8.37 in the video.

    • @abrotherinchrist
      @abrotherinchrist Рік тому

      @@MusicianParadise That's really cool. I don't suppose you can do it in Reaper can you? I do have Bitwig but it's the 8 track version.

      @@abrotherinchrist I don’t know. Does Reaper support MPE?

    • @abrotherinchrist
      @abrotherinchrist Рік тому

      @@MusicianParadise Kind of. The pitch editing is not useable, though. The resolution is too low and you can't zoom the CC lane. Also, the notes all overlap one another, so you have to play dance and toggle the MIDI note channels to edit each note. So, no, not really. Not fully.

  • @AES950
    @AES950 5 місяців тому

    On other videos, the bending mode doesn't sync with the bpm. The Roland keyboards bending stick can pretty much do this without a plug-in.

    • @MusicianParadise
      @MusicianParadise  5 місяців тому

      No, this is entirely different from the Roland keyboard's bending stick. The Roland stick only allows you to bend all notes by the same interval, preventing you from sliding from one chord voicing to a completely different one. It only supports parallel movements.
      This particular plugin, on the other hand, utilizes MPE technology. It allows you to flawlessly bend notes from one chord voicing to a completely different one, even with different note counts. Each note can have an independent bending curve and can bend to an independent interval. They claim that the Fluid Chords plugin is a "revolutionary" technology, and this claim holds true for what it's worth.

    Stuck between this or CHORDimist, which one should I go with? Thinking about CHORDimist for now.

    • @MusicianParadise
      @MusicianParadise  Місяць тому

      While both devices allow you to trigger chords assigned to single keys, they are fundamentally different. If this functionality alone is what you require, the free VST Ripchord might be a better option. Remember that Chordimist is an M4L device, meaning it only works with Ableton Live.
      Fluid Chords has a unique polyphonic pitchbend feature that functions with MPE capable synth plugins. So, if you're interested in exploring MPE possibilities, I'd recommend Fluid Chords. On the other hand, M4L Chordimist includes a noteworthy arp feature that yields very musical results.
      It's worth noting that neither device comes with many chord presets, so you'll need to create your own. If chord presets are important to you, Ripchord and Scaler 2 offer more options. Free presets for the Ripchord VST can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/m-dzB9dF3u4/v-deo.html.

      Are you using Fluid Chords as a standalone program or as a VST3? plugin? If you using it as a VST plugin there must be a procedure specific to your DAW to make it work. • @MusicianParadise
      @MusicianParadise  2 роки тому

      Well, this is the first time I found touchbar of my MAC book actually useful. Fluid Chords can really benefit from longer sliding range. On Windows I would try something like "Touchpad 2 Midi" It is free, although bigger trackpad is a must. Also, there's many midi controllers for tablets - iOS or Android - screen size is usually big enough to obtain good results. Also one interesting thing is the graphic tablets (basic models are pretty cheap) combined with this software:

    I actually think you're doing the real time mode a bit wrong. If you just play the first chord and hold the sustain pedal down - now you can press AND RELEASE the next chord (with both hands if you would like) and then first when you move the pitch bend the first chord travels to the second... now you can press and release the third chord and then move the pitch bend and the second chord will travel to the third and so on... So I don't THINK you have to retrigger like you are doing. Watch this to see it in action ua-cam.com/video/vjXFT9LbOuc/v-deo.html Enjoy!
