I think half the problem is you can’t use the inline 4’s racing line advantage in a racing situation if there are a bunch of v4’s in front of you mid corner. If they went v4 they wouldn’t be getting held up because all bikes would be using similar racing lines. I think that’s the big advantage going to v4.
Fabio is at least not dreaming that a V4 is the holy grail on the path to winning the championship. And if you look back Yamaha were the masters of the V4 configuration when Honda were the kings of the multi cylinder across the frame engines.
I think Yamaha is right around the corner from something big because if that V4 is good enough to win right out of the gate or within 6 or 7races of running it then their leaps and bounds ahead of where they were
The problems at Yamaha are clearly not just the engine - but they need to get on the same page as everyone else. Just like we see at Honda, who have a good engine but are still shit. Both teams have lost their drive and commitment to being front running MotoGP teams and that's what needs to change.
I feel like if you forced ducati to use an inline4, they could make it competitive. I don't think yamaha is not up to par because of the engine configuration. The margins in motogp are so small that with aero, electronics, and other adjustments I believe the inline 4 could compete. Sounds like instead of getting better at those different aspects of the bike they're taking the easy way out and overreacting by going to a different configuration
While I am certain he is right, it wont fix all their problems, I feel like he is posturing himself and preparing to not have the clear distinction as the fastest Yamaha rider. He has no experience on a V4 as do his new teammates,as well as experience on other brands as well. It kind of sounds like he is wanting things his way on whatever bike he likes best and using his steadfast loyalty to Yamaha as reason for them to do so. I think Fabio is a massive talent and deserving of a massive amount of respect for his abilities on a bike. But, I also think he very very foolish and ill-advised to have waited so long for Yamaha to get off their wallets and do something. He has wasted years in my opinion for this. Realistically, I dont expect the playing field to be anywhere near level until possibly the 2027 season with the 850 engine and we havent seen what that will look like yet. Which is why they may have a chance then bcause the other manufacturers havent either. Except mayve Ducati because they will totally be on that project once this season begins with the engine freeze beginning at the first round. Yamaha still has to try and figure out how to be compeotove on a 1000 for 2 years yet. I feel bad for Fabio as we watch his talent wasting away.
YOU GUYS HAVE REALLY BEEN STEPPING UP YOUR ANALYSIS GAME = GOOD POSTS
Oliveira and Miller, will be a plus for Yamaha.. Even learning things to apply on the inline version.. Yamaha will be strong, in my opinion..
I really believe they'll get it right soon
the only thing we can do is to wait and see what will happen.
I'm not a Yamaha fan but I like to see Fabio push again.
And if they change the engine they have to change all the bike and work of the last time.

It will definitely solve the top speed problem if they get it right.
When you're getting beaten every weekend, it's time to try something new.
They never had a ground up rebuild since motogp began.

They'd need to experimet again in the develop😂ment but if they did they could if they do they would .
They need to change things on the bike , Go a different way Yamaha.
Theyre O.K but?
