MERE LANE FISHERY | Produces some fine looking Carp

- Now that autumn is here and the carp are on the feed, myself and my friend Isaac decides to do a 48 hour session over the weekend.
Got down to Mere lane after work on a Friday and did a lap of the lake to find fish. The lake was empty. So we bivvied up and got our rods out. Within 5 minutes Isaac had a run but soon lost it! As evening approach another 2 anglers turned up and for whatever reason, bivvied up in the next 2 swims to my right, cutting my swim off completely. (Only a small lake with 15 pegs, far too many in my opinion).
Going into the first night I was not confident at all and morning soon arrived with not a single knock.
First thing in the morning I wasn’t waiting around so I did another lap of the lake and found fish on the opposite side of the lake. I took no time to waste and packed down and moved. Found my spots and put 5 spombs over each rod (spod mix - dna bug boilies 15mm, bug bait soak, bug stick mix, crayfish mini mix pellets and corn. I washed out my boilies in boiling water for 4 days before making the mix).
Got the rods out and 30 minutes later I had my first fish. Many more runs followed throughout my session finishing with a mega scarred mirror at 26lb.

Cheers pal, the carp go up to about 29lb and there’s a sturgeon that’s is 30lb plus. Very good fishery and once you’re on them, you’re due a few bites
Did u find the back of the lake pegs to be best ?
And any tips advice would be great 👍👍
@@daveshaw5293I fished to the front. left side on the first night but didn’t have anything. Moved to the left back side by the trees and found them there
@@daveshaw5293fish tight to the island and bait for every bite, don’t ignore the margins by the pegs just off the reeds, sturgeon loves that area

Wouldn’t say it’s an easy fishery, but once you get on them, you’re laughing! Don’t over complicate things, fish simple, and bait and wait

Cheers mate. Definitely try it out, cracking fishery and they have a few other ponds too. Some mega looking fish in the specimen lake though 👍🏼

1 of the best in the North West....Perch the Sturgeon is unreal....gives you a good bend.

Fairly clean lake so no need to worry about debris on the bottom. Fish on a tight spot on bait and fish for a bite, top up the spot after every bite. Keep it simple. Don’t neglect the reeds as the sturgeons tends to come from those areas. But the islands are definitely a good feature to place a rig

Just come across your video, i used to fish it alot....the peg you was in before you moved i fished last year, had 21 carp upto 18lb, in 1 night....also also had "Percy" the sturgeon, literally fished 1 rod length out, mesh bag of Sticky Manilla, white pop up....not been back since.....Sold up
It’s a decent fishery, local as well which is handy. Wow! You must’ve timed that well, cleaned up by the sounds of it.
Yeah I’ve had Percy a few times now but apparently other anglers are getting annoyed with it so the owners keep moving Percy into another lake to give it a rest haha. Love a Percy battle!!
Nice tactics mate, sticky manilla is class, you should try their new range - the active
@AtlauaFishing yeh, they have a stock pond at back of the fishery they rest him in....I've sold up now, just do 1 rod roving for a couple hours at a time...
Also surprised Glynis let you use 3 rods, told me no, only 2, and only 6 fishing at any 1 time....Catfish not make an appearance? 6 in there now....also 1 20lb Pike
Nothing was mentioned about 2/3 rods. And it was quite busy that Sunday morning too. No catfish, just carp this time. Never knew there was a pike in there, be something to go at for sure
@AtlauaFishing Yah, I've always been told 2 rods when there's 4 or more anglers, there's about 6 catfish in 4yr ago, and only the 1 Pike to control silvers what your not allowed to fish for but if you accidentally catch it, then fair enough....
