This song reminds me of how desensitized I've become to the idea of suicide. Memories of that time still scares me, but at the same time I'm used to having it be a very casual thought from time to time. It's like a morbid joke since my immediate reaction is simply "Nah let's not" when it happens.

Hey Jayn, I read the diary entry and I just wanted to share my thoughts as someone who's in a similar place in life and with their work. I'm a writer and I always worry about my work being "too sad" ever after someone close to me said as much. I want to write happier things too, but that's just not something that comes naturally to me, I don't think. That being said, I think there's value in sad things, in the feelings we put in our work; in being tired. I think that there's meaning in being able to move hearts. I think there are connections to be found there that can't be found elsewhere. Someone else out there is happy to be understood in such a way, like me. Thank you for your songs and your thoughts, and feelings. Finally, I think it's okay for us to not know what we want to do, or where we're going. It's okay to have doubts. We'll find our way. Best wishes to you and all of us.
