Dude. Let me just say I subscribe to dozens of tech reviewers and vloggers and this is low-key probably the most streamlined desk setup I've seen hands down in the last 7 years. And I mean I watch the guys with the cleanest setups but that wall mount idea that's next level.

Man this blessed me. I found this post by accident which was actually posted on my wife’s birthday. But you are absolutely right. Fear is the killer of success. I was at a new barbershop 💈 yesterday and they ask me what I did. I mentioned my 9-5 but I also mentioned I make beats. My barber said he has people then and I had no product in hand. It was an eye opener. Before I pulled off another guy ran to my car. It’s funny how God will send things when you least expect it. But we have to be ready for blessings and the over flow. That desk is super clean and simple so you can concentrate on being creative and making music. I'm glad you have a kit list so I can try out some of these items like the speakers . The TV mount idea is very DIY and creative, not a waste of space in your eyes lol Thsnks for sharing your thoughts and keeping it simple.

Dope setup man. I’ve been meaning to checkout the irig keys to possibly replace my Akai MPK Mini. Also check out the Audioquest Dragonfly DAC/Amp. The clarity out of it you get is amazing. I got it recently and it will definitely come in handy for mixing and enjoying music

Any way you can detail the lighting again? I see the soft box and the Philips hue bulb hanging. Anything special about the Hue bulb, settings? Also see there's light in the back but not sure what it is. Bulb on the floor angling up? Awesome look.
It’s actually a small lighting kit i got off amazon a few years ago. The light in the back is a spotlight i had in my old studio that i just thru some diffusion over, and the Hue lights i mainly use for work not for video recording. Hope that helps.

Just started watching your videos, as I've purchased an iPad to take on the road to generate music ideas. Hadn't really considered going straight minimalist until you mentioned a few things about your need to "recalibrate" your thinking about what was important. Makes a lot of sense and I'm having similar thoughts about my life choices as well. Thank you for sharing and not being afriad to be different.
This was inspirational man... your space is so simple yet so powerful and flexible. REMOVE THE FEAR. It's like you are talking to my subconscious right now. How did you go about removing that fear? I accept that I'm not very good, or even very decent, but I feel like I still have things that are worth sharing.
Thanks for the feedback. As far as fear, I think we have to tack fear bit by bit, almost like gaining muscle or losing weight. Tackle fear piece by piece and you’ll see yourself stronger by the day. Atleast that’s how I look at it 🤷🏽♂️🙌🏼🙏🏼 ... I appreciate the support.

I just got a 2018 iPad Pro, usb C3 only pluck, and I’m trying to figure out how to connect a usb controller and also have sound monitoring back to my headphones or speakers monitors, any adapter or solution you can help me find out?? One thing I thought about was buying a Bluetooth keyboard like your XKey or a Bluetooth controller w/ a drum pad included (preferably) if can recommend any Will thank you a lot 🙏

I'm sure you get this a lot so forgive me, but perhaps you could try using manual focus. That way, your lively handg gestures won't mess with the auto focus. Thanks for all the great content.
Yeah I just went back to manual focus this week 😩... I was trying the updates and jacks for better focusing on my GH5 but it just couldn’t cut it. Thanks for the feedback ✊🏼
I love how compact those little iLoud Monitors are and I'd love to grab a pair myself. Right now I'm using a pair of Fostex PM0.1's that work great and are about as large, but I know they're not production-specific so I worry about how transparent the sound actually is. Might need to pick up a set of the iLouds.
The best thing is that what you have is working for you. That’s really all that matters. Everything else is just mind clutter and gear lust. Take you time and figure out what’s missing and then make purchasing decisions based on that 👍🏼

Awesome man! Just a tip though: if you have autofocus on your camera, try not move your hands in front of the frame a lot. Honestly, I think you're better off setting the focus to manual, setting the depth of field to around your face and where you move. It will give a much more cinematic look, with a continuous focus throughout the shot.
You are so right! I’ve stopped using my GH5’s autofocus all together now. I was hoping the updates would help but it’s just useless at this point. Thanks for the feedback!
Autofocus on handhelds really only works on large open spaces and few subjects, unfortunately /: We're a few years away from actual decent autofocus. Love you're vids, really inspire me to make more music and work on my photography and video!

How do you program the Irigkeys I/O I have connected it to me 2019 iPad several times and the Data knob will not pan the track but I have seen it in several videos! I have looked at the manuals online but haven’t found a solution. I’ve actually been following your page for about a year now and have gotten a whole set up just like this one by bits and pieces with spare money that I have. I currently use this set up as a live broadcasting with my iPhone on Switcher app but I have had audio issues due to the music not being that loud when plugged directly into the IKrig
Henny Tha Bizness I’m loving it. LOL. The big draw for me was the built in interface for mic/line instruments. It’s also not as bad carrying it around, especially if you get the case for it (but still not as small as the CME. LOL). Hope you enjoy it man!

Thanks for the sub! Actually I plugged my iPad into my Zoom H2N and recorded the audio from my iPad as well as the audio from my voice into that. Then when I went to sync everything in Luma Fusion, I used the audio from my voice to sync it all up. Hope that helps 👍🏼
I also like minimalism. Today I purchased an irig keys i/o 25 and am now thinking how to charge the ipad. I didn‘t buy the ac-adapter from ikmultimedia. You connect the irig keys via usb to the ipad, right? You are not using the lighting cable which comes with the irig keys?

Henny-I need your help. I have an Irig keys I/O 25 and iPad Pro 12.9 2017. I use the included lighting cable to mini DIN to connect the two and also bought the IK multimedia wall plug charger. The Keys I/O simply wont maintain a connection with the iPad, sometimes it works and sometimes not. You think if I use the usb3 connection kit like in this vid it’ll make a difference? Do I still need IK wall plug or just use the Apple lighting charging cable?
When I was using that keyboard, using the usb lightning kit is when I had to the most success. I was hoping if I used the keyboards wall charger everything would work and charge together but that didn’t work for me.

How do you program the Irigkeys I/O I have connected it to me 2019 iPad several times and the Data knob will not pan the track but I have seen it in several videos! I have looked at the manuals online but haven’t found a solution. I’ve actually been following your page for about a year now and have gotten a whole set up just like this one by bits and pieces with spare money that I have. I currently use this set up as a live broadcasting with my iPhone on Switcher app but I have had audio issues due to the music not being that loud when plugged directly into the IKrig

Henny Tha Bizness I’m loving it. LOL. The big draw for me was the built in interface for mic/line instruments. It’s also not as bad carrying it around, especially if you get the case for it (but still not as small as the CME. LOL). Hope you enjoy it man!

Thanks for the sub! Actually I plugged my iPad into my Zoom H2N and recorded the audio from my iPad as well as the audio from my voice into that. Then when I went to sync everything in Luma Fusion, I used the audio from my voice to sync it all up. Hope that helps 👍🏼

I also like minimalism. Today I purchased an irig keys i/o 25 and am now thinking how to charge the ipad. I didn‘t buy the ac-adapter from ikmultimedia. You connect the irig keys via usb to the ipad, right? You are not using the lighting cable which comes with the irig keys?
Exactly I’m using the usb 3 camera connection kit. Works well to charge and play 👌🏼

Henny-I need your help. I have an Irig keys I/O 25 and iPad Pro 12.9 2017. I use the included lighting cable to mini DIN to connect the two and also bought the IK multimedia wall plug charger. The Keys I/O simply wont maintain a connection with the iPad, sometimes it works and sometimes not. You think if I use the usb3 connection kit like in this vid it’ll make a difference? Do I still need IK wall plug or just use the Apple lighting charging cable?
When I was using that keyboard, using the usb lightning kit is when I had to the most success. I was hoping if I used the keyboards wall charger everything would work and charge together but that didn’t work for me.
