Great review of a terrific pen. My Arco Bronze hails from 1992. I had Mark Bacas resolve a slight nib issue on mine and it, too, writes like a dream. I really enjoy Omas pens from the 1990s, especially the Paragon Extra models in Celluloid. I remember thinking that 10 weeks was such a long time to wait for my Minimalistica! LOL Then when it arrived, I was so busy it took another 2-3 weeks to open the package. I'm so gad I got mine when I did. Within a year, they stopped production and, well, everyone knows the rest of the story.
haha yeah I just recently dipped my toe into the reviewing sphere!! Hopefully will try and keep up with it and also test out some new video formats too :D
Beautiful pen keep it I have an Oma’s ogiva vision demo that I’ve never inked still in box but I always wanted a conid minimalistica in demo enjoy your pens
Regarding the nib, the 1990s Paragons used 18K nibs. However, you could send your pen in for a nib swap and request a semi-flex nib, which would be 14K. That's what you have. It has more flex than the standard nib and less flex than the later Extra Flessibile which came out at the end of 2004. There are also semi-flex nibs from post-2000. These have the Raised Initial imprint of that time.
Oh man, I bought three OMAS Paragons (bronze arco, arco verde, and an older burlwood with a RIDICULOUSLY wide stub), and a bronze arco Milord, about six months before they announced they were closing the company. About two years after they closed I thought I might as well flip them to profit off the climbing prices, which I did for the three Paragons, but wow I regret it. 😔 I still have the Milord (and a few older black resin Extras). I also at one point had a ca. 1930 grey arco Extra lever filler that was a beautiful writer, but I sold that one as well. Don’t necessarily regret selling that one, but I wish I still had those Paragons.
I am obsessed! What is the size of your nib here please? Thank you for this video! I'd say KEEP the pen at almost any cost. But you are selling it, I am sure all of us in the comment section and then some, will jump hysterically into the lolly scramble!
You should definitely sell (to me)! Such a stunning finish on it! How did you get your Conid? They have stopped taking orders since a year ago. I’ve heard nothing but great comments on Conid pens.
1. Just saw OdE's review of the Wing Sung 626 ($30) which had the exact same loose cap rings issue, due to shrinking of the celluloid. The review resulted in a slew of comments about shoddy Chinese construction. 2. There is no particular reason to get rid of this pen immediately, even if not used much. It is guaranteed to go up in value, so sell it whenever you'd rather have the money than the pen, now, later, never, whatever.

I really enjoyed this review. Great work!
I just learned you do reviews! This is a beautiful pen, but not one I own. I'll enjoy it vicariously through you for now.

@@aidanbernal great timing! Thanks again for the review.
How are the new pens compared to old stock?
great vid. did you pay a lot for it? i might of missed it, but what size nib is yours? i have my eye on one on eBay, but my gosh, it's expensive!
thanks! yeah, it's quite pricey. I paid around $850 for it but i would be surprised it it goes for under 1000 now
Well, at least it's good for you to use at home. Thanks for the video.

Unless there ever comes a time in your life when you can't afford food, clothing and shelter, KEEP THE PEN.
fair point :D
