Most important part of having an FPV drone is a soldering iron. Can’t be paying someone every time you have an issue my dude.
Not having a soldering iron and paying someone to do it for you is like having to pay someone to charge your phone lol.
Seriously my first FPV drone was a 5’ drone that I built
Let him waste his money.
If you’re not smart enough to watch a few Bardwell videos and learn to solder, you deserve to spend money every time a wire breaks.
@@myersbob7517 Damn, you built a 5 foot drone??
@@fpvaddict2334 I meant 5"
What happened to the Avata is what we call physics. The Avata is not made to do those kind of turns right back into "turbulant air" caused by the propellers, it's simply not designed for that. It's like trying to do drift with an SUV and then wonder why it rolled over, it's an extreme example but it's all about physics.
It's not physics, it's an under prestating UAV. any normal (proper self-build quad) would NOT experience that. The problem is DJI overloaded the drone with the much battery and not enough power. the pids get overloaded compensation it and crash.
@@ThomasAndersonFPV so you fly in the air with n object, it stalls and it's not physics 😂. What's next, the downforce created by an F1 car is not physics
@@killer0178 It does not stall it overloads, can you read? a normal UAV does not do this ;)
@@killer0178 stalling is when you don't have enough speed to keep up lift, this does not apply to drones buddie
@@ThomasAndersonFPV still comes down to physics though..
Love the series man! Cant wait for the next one.
one of us one of us! nice job flying and filming.
First your motors stalled, then you stalled... You could've done much better AND you already have, just not that day. We all been there! Keep it up! Great video, not a single dime wasted for the lessons you learned and taught us all
You are amazing bruh. Keep doing what you do. One day you will become one of the most successful youtubers ever
Keep it up love ur videography and cool stuff Vids
Yooo That is Sick!
great video. cant wait for the next one
amazing videos man keep it up
Great job man!
I got to say, I'm glad you upgraded for the avata, it was my first drone and it was both the best and the worst drone I could have started with (as a beginner fpv pilot). It was so damn loud with the stock props, it could still be heard from like 2 fields away and never took off from any type of grass when crahed (same message of motor stalling). But that drone is what lead me to expanding my fpv journey like yours. I did end up doing the axisflying 3.5 modification and there was big improvement but it was only so far you could take that drone. Now rocking a Axisflying Manta 3.6 and it's a beast for it's size. I hope your journey works out for you. Good Luck!
rlly like this series
Yoooo jacknoham what’s up I’m a big fan and btw I’ve been really enjoying this series as well 🇨🇦

0:30 Commenting as a former Avata owner as i watch. Let's see how this goes.
1:50 i knew it lol
3:40 you'll find nothing wrong with it. It'll appear normal. Just a warning you received is all.
4:10 it's the death roll sir. Google Avata death roll
5:10 this is why i don't have my Avata anymore. I broke it doing this upgrade 😔
7:40 feeling a real fpv drone...i hope that brought your confidence back. It did for me
8:05 welcome brother!
8:11 This was literally me two weeks ago lol
Sheesh looks sick bro
Great story telling 😊
Banger vid my guy!
I’m a huge fan!! Hi
Lol damn bro this has been a known issue for years my guy. Avata ain’t meant for the race track you need a powerful custom 5 or 7 inch quad for stuff like that.
That would require him to build something and learn something.
Bro only knows how to say bruh and use his credit card.
You flew it that smoothly the first time you flew a FPV drone? I was all over the place. I am still learning.
Keep it up bro!
The day i ordered my first part of fpv gear this dropped (havnt flow yet) and keep getting more excited to get this of the ground
That’s the infamous yaw tumble. The exact reason why you don’t want to race the avata. It can be done if you’re careful with hard yaw turns. The motor stalling was because of the grass probably
this guy has amazing editng and its not appriciated enough like this up and SPREAD IT!!!
ik about the spelling
all these fpv shots we all take for granted lol
Video is really good
Hey Nic,
I used to have the same problem with the avata. In fact I lost my first Avata in a rivier while flying in manual mode. I have to say that you were lucky your didn't crash. My second avata crashed on the highway and bounced to the curb, luckily it didn't have much damage. I was so stressed and ended up upgrading with the axisflying 3.5 KIT. and now It flies perfectly. Maybe you should try that too. It'll be a fun video
YESSIR he's finally gets a REAL fpv drone
😄 Nope, he got a posh conewhoop, hence the stall during the tight turn. A real quad wouldn’t do that.
Cinewhoops are not meant to be flown like you stole it for this exact reason.
Top cool bro
for your dream shot tbh i recomend the avata still, you will be flying behind a massive rock and im not sure if your fpv has the auto return to home saftey features like the avata
Just found this..I'll make sure to sub and follow the goal ..just curious why you didn't think of the avata 2? All u needed was the drone itself since u had the goggles and remote from the first avata
I recently started fpv with a Cetus X and jaw wipeout happens too, when I throttle it too hard while "drifting". But I can just catch it and continue, as there is nothing intelligent in the drone. Was going to neutral a safety response?
I got to say, your FPV journey has been incredibly inspiring for me, it started out when I got a BetaFPV Cetus Pro about two months ago. I got pretty good at flying and eventually got bored because the drone was so underpowered, and I didn't have the time or money to buy or build a new larger drone since I'm in grade seven. But then I saw your first FPV video in this series, and it encouraged me to keep flying and keep practicing. And now you have gotten a better drone built which has inspired me to also make money and build a drone, I've picked out all the parts and am about to order them. Keep up the amazing work and thank you, for inspiring me to keep flying.
I built my first drone and it’s totally worth it and you learn a lot about FPV but it’s difficult and can be extremely frustrating at times
Been enjoying the content lately! Really well edited and thought out. We should collaborate sometime! Would be fun to build a drone and send it halfway across the world lol
I just fried my whole stack on my race build
what angle are you flying for the car chase?
I thought Australia would have some grass roots drift car stuff.
If you're dead set on bind n' fly, buy the Nazgul DC5 Eco for half the price you spent on the avata. With any leftover money buy extra batteries, and a proper ELRS controller/ reciever
The 'Motors stalled' warning was most likely because of the grass you landed in, it looked like it was sticking up through the props, blocking them from turning during startup.
Keep up the good work nicolas
Yellow i wish i had such a thing too😅
get it bro
For the past few weeks I only flew my new 5 inch and then I tried out my Avata yesterday and it felt like a toy. Its so slow and heavy
Why didnt you buy the avata 2?
I had thought balance was about the same whether the weight was on top or bottom? I'm pretty sure Wren from corridor digital made a nerf blaster on the top of a drone.
i did solution 1 and modified my drone btw. i dont got lots of practice and it was notthat hard and it works grate it sometimes gives some error mesages but i never had the yaw porblem again.
I have an Avata 1. I'm aware of the yaw-washout limitation. In manual mode, top speed is ~97km/h, sport just under 50km/h, normal just under 30km/h. Fine drone within its limitations.
Results??????? Did you get the shot?
Hey mate, I’m interested in flying Fpv here in Australia, specifically outdoors and I was researching the laws and what not and apparently you need CASA approval or something like that. I was wondering if you have done that and if not have you had any problems? or would I just be alright to go ahead and fly?
Howdy! Technically FPV is completely illegal and if you do, you’re supposed to do it on private property with a Spotter lol
But no one is going to think it’s any more different than a normal drone tbh. I just tend to fly in quieter areas to not annoy anyone and most of the time you’ll be left alone. I’ve had a few people come up to me and just had a chat with them and not had any issues.
You should be alright to just fly but yea I just would stay in quiet places. Albert (from the vid ) also hasn’t had issues
I am confused why is he holding a straw with a microphone atached
love from india ❤
Hey I'm 16 and really wanting to get into drones would it be possible to get your avata 2 if not that's completely understandable but why not ask
I was like oh that's not too bad of price while looking at the drone then realizes it's in Australia and its nearly 1000aud for it I feel bad
your pretty good at this but i think you can still get better
Isn't FPV illegal in Australia?
use the liftoff fpv map or tryp fpv
this guy is just a god. bro pls dont give up
What about the dji fpv.
only 100 views in 15 minutes hes coming back!
yay
If you wanted to save money you could've used the same DJI Avata controller just FYI - but wise move because the Tango2 (which you bought) is significantly better.
Hey Nicolas im looking for some fpv mates. i live in south east Qld
I have a question, why didnt he just buy a dji fpv?
oh also yaw spin wipeouts is becuase it is ducted (has prop gurds)
Yeah, but mostly because of the high center of mass.
My initial thought here was, the Avata is the wrong tool for the job… Cinewhoops are not meant for this type of flying. Use a proper FPV drone that isn’t top heavy or has ducts.
Not being harsh but you have a lot to learn.
Exactly, most people would blame it immediately on bad design and flaws and what not without understanding the drone itself and physics at play in it
I don’t get why the views are dropping like the video quality is so highhhhhhh and I love watching I’m sorry man 😢
Seems like we got a same way.
Avata, dead yawn. But you are lucky and DJI update the hardware if issue happen, switch to normal mode, but my avata happen before the update and get heavy crash on the edge of house, downside sensor broken.
This is why I switch to real fpv and get more control.
In actually, I am not diy fans, mostly enjoy the fly.
Kinda crazy how you have the confidence to go to a racetrack not even being able to do a clean split s
Fantastic video! It's really nice to see your journey into FPV. It makes me want to go out and fly more. I've only got tinywhoops and would be limited to sub250g if I wanted anything bigger that I could fly locally 😢
For real
I don’t think that’s how you say lipo
Probably overheated the motors or ESC. The avata isn't meant for speeds like that...
Although u got the right components, u could have saved money on the remote and the RX. That 5inch has an o3 system which means it is compatible with the dji remote 2
Why use your brain when you can just whip out the credit card?
@@tweeked267 In the long shot it is better to go with a normal radio as he did as relying on DJI means exchanging all your gear in 2-3 years time, but as he is complaining about the money I thought I would make the point. Getting the avata in first instance for the shot he plans to do is the first overspending he has done, as it could have been avoided...
@@see_2_far_beyond I agree. The problem I see with this kid is that he just buys stuff.
He needs to learn to really fly and build/repair his own quads.
But there are a lot of these folk in FPV. Can’t fly, can’t solder, wouldn’t know how to read a wiring diagram to save their life. Just know how to use the credit card.
@@tweeked267 I agree, but I believe this serie is the trend that is now on youtube of "learning FPV in a week". Sometimes it does not even give them time to look into this... @nicolasgrant if after this serie you still want to fly FPV I would strongly recommend to make the effort to learn how to build and repair his drone as well as the other bits and bobs that come with it. With your video editing experience and hard work, I believe you would gain a lot of new followers from a difference niche to your channel. No offense, my comments come from a positive and constructive criticism and no bad intentions when I left these comments ;)
should have got an avata 2
or dji fpv
Yo
the drone launched :(
Your finding out that all drones are not meant to do all things, and cinewhoops are not generally known for speed and agility. You're right that a 5 inch would perform much better to chase a car.
dude albert sucks too on this shot he lost almost half of the car while getting close :D
Told ya
A bit loud music 9:42 but great video
4 blade master airscrew or HQprop will fix that
Seriously?
Crossfire is four wires to be soldered.
Beanz.
What happened to this series?!?!? Been silent for three weeks now.
he is on the vacation
You could just use your current DJI goggles and DJI RC2 with the Evoque O3 without investing more money
right
Exactly what I did after I got sick of the avata 1
Or try avata 2 it’s so much better than the first one
Avata 2?
Ikr like it’s way superior for a similar price 😭
Hi
Bro it would be cheaper to build a fpv drone, you just need to do more research into it. To many people get a dji drone thinking its the magic bullet of fpv and than they experience the down sides of not building your own quad and fully knowing how it works.
The Avata 2 is much more stable. That battery design on the first gen is an absolute mess. Horribly top heavy and highly prone to ejection.
As a complete noob I'm more than happy with my purchase. But I'd be much happier if my goggles 3 and controller 3 worked with other air units. Hopefully that day comes sooner than later. Until then, I can't fully recommend it.

thank god you stopped using an avata
i dont think you get the point in fpv drones the most importent thing is to build the drone urself so when you crush it (and you probobly will) you know how to fix it and were to get the parts.
I dont think you are ready for what you are trying to do..
i dont understand why you switched away from the dji controller. most fvp pilots use them. i understand not using the drone but i think you should have kept the controller. great vid as always!
Dji controller suckssssss. Gimbals are hella small and dont feel great
DJI controllers aren't good radios. We usually use other radios with better gimbals and protocols, and for more versatility in the options they have.
Nah most pilots toss the dji controller and go for a radiomaster tx16s or boxer
No offense at all but I have never seen an actual fpv pilot nowadays fly anything other than crossfire/elrs
@@LIKEAWHATT tracer and ghost as well.

That last shot can not be the best shot?? Way to far from the car
9:15 and then you want to let some repair your drone every single time? Imo, FPV flying is a hobby, where you need to build your own drone at least the hardware...
Lmao!!! The Avata is for taking wedding photos and real estate videos!!!!!! Build a real drone if you want real shots!!!!
Please, PLEASE do not continue with Crossfire, it's outdated and more expensive than the most popular (and best) option, ExpressLRS
