Thanks for all the info! I just ordered a hardtail Powerfly 4 Gen 4 and am getting my shop to spec it with the fully equipped parts of the FS9 (rack, fenders, integrated lights, kickstand). Too bad Trek doesn’t offer a fully equipped hardtail version. I’m using it as a commuter for work and didn’t want to pay the price of the full suspension version. Very happy with this build as I like city riding in a more aggressive geometry bike like the powerfly vs the more relaxed commuter stance of the Allant

I have the powerfly 4 gen 4 in black and orange or red hardtail. It clanks while changing gear in the mid range. I have broken 3 chains going uphill and don't bother in doing jumps as it's a slug.its a trail pump bike, and in that, it hugs the track. I have broken so many spokes on my rear wheel . It just looks cool, and that's why I love it. It will be in my rack for ever but my next bike will be a pinion tooth driven.

    Great informative video.
Im debating between FS 7 gen 2 2022 and FS 4 gen 3 both electric. I think the only difference is the new Bosch smart system which I can probably live without. Any thoughts, the fs 7 is substantially cheaper here in the Uk

Great video. I find myself road riding a lot so 50 miles at around 18 to 20 mph if I’m fresh. I’ve trailed behind older bigger folk doing 20 mph. It’s great for me to push a good sprint to get ahead lol. But for mtb I’m looking strongly at a powerfly since I would not need a full suspension. Thank you

Great video! How does The FS 4 compare to the new 2023 Giant Stance E + 2? I’m not sure which…

The Intuvia display is not the same as the Kiox. Why show the Kiox when the bike is equipped with the Intuvia 100?

Could have been a mistake or a swap that happened after the video.

Thanks for the explanation! Anyone manage to get the Powerfly 4 (gen 3?) hard tail under 3k USD? Feel like the sales are here to stay

Hi from New Zealand! Thanks for the explanation. The FS4 Gen 2 is heavily discounted here so I was wondering what the difference is and it seems it’s not worth NZD$2,000! Gen 2 for me!

I recently bought the Powerfly FS Gen 2 here in Vancouver for the same reason… 30% discount. Apart from the controller and Smart system, the Gen 2 is identical to the Gen 3. I adore this bike… I commute 30km each day without any problems (I am 63 years old) and it plays like an MTB on the week-ends. I only ride mild trails, however. 😊

In the new powerfly FS there is no rear fender to protect the suspension. As the suspension located in back of the saddle and very close to the wheel ,do you think that would be an issue. Is rear mini fender available from previous FS generation to put on this by trek ?
It looks like a big issue to me.
    Thanks

Totally! My Powerfly FS4 Gen 2 has the mini rear mudguard and it is much needed.
