    I Cook the giblets for over 2hrs on a very low simmer and my husband loves it that way with all the added veggies & herbs I have on hand. I buy chicken gizzards separately for him to eat the same way since the turkey giblets are for the gravy. I never add salt and use equal parts low sodium stock/water/wine to cook in.

      This recipe makes roughly 2 cups or 500ml - serves 6. You may want to double the butter, flour, and stock amounts for the gravy the heavy cream/double cream can be left the same or doubled if wanted.
      updated amounts to double the gravy:
      4 tbsp or 56g unsalted Butter
      4 tbsp or 36g Flour
      2 cup or 500ml Giblet Stock Reduction
      Giblets Chopped (Liver, heart, and gizzard)
      2 Hard Boiled Eggs Chopped
      2 cup or 500ml Turkey Pan Drippings (1.5 cup or 375ml water added to the turkey roasting pan)
      1 cup or 250ml Heavy Cream/double cream/whipping cream
      Salt and Pepper to Taste
      I hope you enjoy!

    I love the gravy I have made from using the Turkey bones skin and giblets. However I do not add garlic, I do use celery carrot and onion alone with a couple of chicken or turkey bullion cubes and boil away then strain it all. The using the normal roux to thicken. I sometimes add cream sometimes not. Served over creamy mash OMG straight heaven!

    What do boiled egg do for the gravy I never heard that

    • @thesauceandgravychannel
      @thesauceandgravychannel  4 роки тому

      The hardboiled eggs will slightly help with thickening the gravy and add some texture alongside the gizzard heart liver and neck meat.

    minis the pan drippings ... cooking
    turkey now ) . Turned out great !!!!
    It's going to be good and thick ( not
    putting in the giblets " DREAM KILLER " doesn't like it like that .

    Looks fantastic! Can I make this recipe without the drippings? I’m sure it won’t be as flavourful without, but we’re smoking our turkey this year and won’t have drippings.

    To make this gravy thicker, do you just use more butter and flower or reduce it longer?

    • @thesauceandgravychannel
      @thesauceandgravychannel  2 роки тому +2

      Yes you can do either. Adding a little more equal parts butter and flour would be the easiest thing to do. Thanks for watching 😊👍

      @@thesauceandgravychannel Thank you so much. I've been making lemon, pepper, cream sauce with a chicken broth base for a couple months now and serving it over chicken or salmon and sometimes it's just not thick enough. I cook it down but the chicken gets cold before it's thick enough. I think a beurre manie will do the trick.

      By making homemade gravy you can make it to order. You can leave out the eggs or even add additional items. Thanks for watching.
