We all remember... 1. Playing on MCPE 2. Digging straight down 3. Not knowing how to craft a bed so we had to make an underground hole to stay the night 4. Trying to go to the anther dimension 5. Downloading a shit ton of addons 6. Trying to find Herobrine 7. Playing at night when nobody was awake 8. Spawning all the mobs to see what each one looked like 9. Building a rectangular house 10. Getting scared by cave noises so we left the game 11. Feeding our pets even thought they don’t need food 12. Watching wolves chase around sheep 13. Watching ocelots chase around chickens and rabbits 14. Capturing villagers and scaring them with bells 15. Playing survival and when we are about to die, we switch to creative 16. Making huge underground bases in creative 17. Not knowing how to enchant things 18. First learning how to use/get the elytra 19. Taming a bunch of animals and feeding them all 20. Watching Minecraft tutorials Thank you Minecraft for making such fond and special memories.
I remember when i first found a Pillager mansion thing. I think they're called pillagers. When i found it, there was one that summoned up a mouth from the ground and killed me, I nearly shit myself and i exited the game
Ahh, classic minecraft and it's old servers, the good old days of me wanting to know how to get a way to place water and lava in classic, because I saw servers that were lava survival and flood survival game mod servers... I was obsessed and STILL to this day never found out how in THAT version of classic...
To the ones who grew up with Minecraft: Don't stop playing Minecraft. Don't stop being you. Remember what you wanted to be when you were a kid playing Minecraft. Remember what you had planned since childhood. Try and reconnect with old friends you can find. Make sure you are in contact with the ones who made your childhood amazing and do not lose their contact. Try and help turn that *Last online 7 years ago* to *Online* Make sure you spend as much time with your friends and family because one day... you will place your last block on Earth. You will say your final goodbye on Earth. You will log off for the last time on Earth. But do not fear... because you place your last block on Earth doesn't mean it's your last block forever, you will meet the ones who also placed their last block on Earth... and join them in continuing your builds with the ones you consider family. Soon, you will meet your old friends again, no matter how long it will take you will for sure meet them again. You will meet them again and you will continue your adventures like you did when you were kids. And you will get the chance again to spend your awesome times with the amazing friends you had made along the way in your life and be able to go back to when you placed your first block. When you broke your first tree. When you made your first crafting table. When you made your first pickaxe. When you found your first village. When you found your first pet. When you found your first Minecraft song. When you found your first ore. When you found your first set of diamonds. When you joined your first server. When you found out that you need to hold instead of clicking. You will get those chances again soon. And you will be able to do it as many times as you want, all while watching over the ones that continue your family tree and blood line. That continues your last name. That continues what you made in the world. That continues the amazing things you created. That continues the remembrance of you. And I see a lot of you in the comments talking about loving this one game. Why don't we all come together? Come together. Play together. Bond together. Mine together. Build together. Fight together. Laugh together. Hang out together. Our lives doesn't always have to focus on the nostalgic feels, we have the now and we can continue to make our Minecraft life better even as an adult. You know what always baffled me about the game? Well, if Were to tell you, that there is a game out there where all you do is build and mine blocks, well, like anyone I guess you may assume it’s quite boring. But when you really get into it you realize just how lovingly simple it is, and how sweet the game is as well. Unlike other games where you have a gun and your running for your life trying to escape others, instead in Minecraft you have a stone sword you crafted yourself and your running away from the creeper that simply just won’t leave you alone even after you think you’ve killed it 20 times! It’s just too simple, to the point where it’s an amazing simple. Instead of using emotions or emojis, it’s simply crouch up and down quickly to show that you’re happy, or lower your head down in sadness from the loss of your dog or perhaps that sheep that for some reason you got a good friendship with. Again simple. Even though sadly today the kids that play Minecraft may be a little toxic, due to them losing their minds because they’re on a server and someone proceeded to kill them. But that just goes to show how much kids want from video games these days. From what the original Minecraft players like us wanted, We want to simple and that is exactly what we got from the game. Nothing in your face nothing coming out at you, the only thing that ever greeted you with the calming music and again any mob of that went ahead and decided to go into your house. But the one thing that Minecraft did that other games seem to fail to do, and which may be why we love it so much, is that it showed other games you don’t need to be big and bold you just need to feel at home sometimes. So what truly baffles me, is that Minecraft was home. Where you made friends, but it was so simple! And like I forever say, just an amazing simple. Even with all the updates, if still is quite simple. You don’t need to watch walk throughs, you just need to let yourself drift you along. So, here is my last glass for the simple, and let’s hope other games can take note of it.
I almost can’t take it some days just the thought that I’ll never have those memories back again, the excitement i got when i found diamonds or building my first house. I’m still really young 17 but man the years have flown by so unbelievably fast and to know you can never go back is the hardest pill to swallow but I’m glad i can at least go into the future knowing i have all of you with me who had these same memories (:
I’m a similar age to you and I agree, something about the nostalgia of a more simple and immature time just makes me weirdly sad, realizing I will never be able to replicate the joy I had from simple things. Every time I come back to Minecraft, it always amazes me, always shows me a little bit of my past, even though it wasn’t that long ago.
This, this is where people with a great childhood were raised, i logged into my minecraft account after about 4-5 years recently, and i found the house i built with my dogs, and all the structures i built when i was younger, i wanted to cry after seeing it, knowing that I'll never be that young, and knowing that kids these days will only know the pain of someone doing an emote on them after they die, but they'll never know the pain of finding diamonds after hours of searching, just to be blown up by a creeper, or the feeling of your first dog dying, or when your friend logged off, then never came back, lets take these few minutes to remember the simpler times, of minecraft and G-Mod videos, of skydoseminecraft and venturiantale, and even Tobuscus, this was, and still is the greatest community anyone could ever ask for, and for that, i thank you, and i thank Notch for making us happy, goodnight my friends, and my family

I was listening to lofi, and I got a nightmare because of an eerie "sleeping" tune they were playing, I stopped sleeping to lofi then. I then slept to this, and I had the best dream of being in my fantasy world in a cottage in a valley while it was raining. As I looked out the window, the beautiful sight of flower fields and the misty figures of extreme mountains in the far horizon, as rain poured unto my windows on the other side of the glass. It was just mesmerising to see... I then woke up, the rain had been physical tears this whole time... Thank you...
Just to think that this game was a small indie title from the mind of one man, is now one of the most recognizable games of all time. It truly is amazing :)
March 26th, 2096 It was a rainy day. People stay inside home because it isn’t very safe outside. Virus is getting worse despite medical workers working hard in the medical field, but we managed to slow the virus down, but the virus developed further and further, total organs failure, vomits, etc. you tell them. Celebrities crying because of quarantine inside their 1,000,000$ house, people panic buying toilets paper,... you know, the usual, we watch memes inside our house, eating and laughing. But i hear my grandson crying in his room, and when i enter his room, i saw him, sitting on his bed listening to something on his iPad, i asked: “why are you crying so loud?” he handed me his earbud, Minecraft wife enters the room and listening to what i am listen to. She cried. I have never feel so old in my life.
Videos like these are extremely underrated. I wish people would realize that most developers put time and effort into environments and sound effects that when you slow down and take in what's around you, you begin to notice you've been neglecting a pure form of art itself, soundscapes.

All this nostalgia has literally brought tears to my eyes. Childhood goes by in the blink of an eye. Those times were so simple, so carefree. All that mattered was my dog and hollow wooden plank cube I was so proud to call my house.

Best game. Logged into my world not long ago. I saw a really nice building with my dogs waiting outside. I remember gathering food with them and I brung them everywhere. These dogs were from a long time ago when I first went looking for them and none of them died for all those years on all my journeys, the exact same dogs. Still alive to this day.

made me remember when i would hang out with my old friends everyday. we would run over to their house (they’re brother and sister, and they were next door) and hide out in either their guest bedroom, one of their own bedrooms, or the basement and turn all the lights out, with only the screen lighting up our joy filled faces. sometimes it would rain for real outside, and it made everything better. just the sound of the the rain, the soft minecraft music, the sound of us running on the grass, placing/mining a block, and the sounds of the three of us pressing buttons on our controllers. i always took that time for granted, and never knew how good i had it. i’m not very close with them anymore, they did some stuff that damaged our friendships. we also grew up and parted farther apart, but deep inside i actually do miss the old them. i wish i could go back...
Brings me back when I was just 6 playing with my dad,making houses,destroying villages,and taming a ton of dogs. I tear up just thinking about it (PS this was on an xbox360 not an xbox1)
I got it the first week it had came out on mobile... A simple sandbox game called Minecraft. It was a game with only 4 blocks at the time. I built houses out of dirt that could be only 2 blocks high and was just a square tight house. I was only 3 at the time and it was a late afternoon when I got it. I remember playing all night. Trying to break trees and couldn’t figure out how to get wood. And trying to mine in survival with a sword. It was great back then when life just felt so much easier. And just less stressful. I played on my moms iPhone for a while. It was amazing. Playing with my little baby hands and with an undeveloped mind. I moved over to my Nana’s MAC computer. It was huge and I was mostly excited for the mobs on the computer. At the time mobile did not have dogs or any mobs at all. So I moved over to that and played for hours a day. I made a little world all by myself. I then taught a lot of my friends about it. It was awesome I worked so hard on that one world for hours. I was so happy. I had fallen in love with this sandbox game. It was just magical. It was my first day of kindergarten. I was completely petrified. I came home in tears. But when I heard the faint piano coming in the background. I felt like “ wow i did it...” and I played. I was so happy... I just felt like there is no such thing as growing up. I had horrible days but when I saw my dogs in Minecraft waiting for me to get home I was ok. I remember coming home and I was about to build my awesome aquarium today. I pushed the power on the computer and just sat and waited. It never worked. My nana told me the computer is dead. “What does that mean” i looked at her very confused. “It’s asleep forever.” She said. I was so sad. I had lost my dogs that had been waiting patiently all day for me. I told the computer “goodnight” and played again a year later. I lost a year and a half of memories in that world. It was hard without it. I thought life was hard. And difficult. It was the holidays of 2014 And I opened a brand new Xbox one. I was so excited. It had came with it... minecraft. I was so excited. I started a brand new world immediately. With my two best friends. We called It MJH our initials. We played for hours a day and ate crunchy chocolate chip cookies. We worked for two hard years. I decided to look at the settings on Xbox. I pushed “RESET” it reset my whole Xbox. I had yet lost another great world of memories. I got news that we are moving. I had to leave my best friends behind. I had realized at that moment... life is tough... and not easy... I moved on to Fortnite for a while. I created big skill levels to play professionally. I started a new world with my best friends Nathan and Joshua And Harper recently. I realized it had MJH In it like our other MJH world. I just cried.... I remember when life was easy... And everybody was nice and... Kind and amazing... But everything is magical Don’t be sad that it passed be happy it happened. I realized Minecraft changed everything.... It’s not a game... it’s my own world...

I remember when I first got the game back in 2012 and made so many memories on different worlds with different friends each sharing their unique moments. I recall that being one of the most peaceful, bliss times of life. Things aren’t as simple nowadays but I’ve got back into the game recently and started one of my best worlds ever. With all the stresses and pressures of life, this has helped me really relax and taken me back to being a child for a bit. Thank you for this video :)
I remember when I was younger, I used to play Minecraft all the time with my little brother, and I remember mining together, looking for diamonds. My brother found a diamond and put it on an item frame. I remember trying to steal the diamond because I never found diamonds in survival mode before. (I was just joking around with him) Now, my brother has a short temper, is mean to me, and plays Fortnight all the time. Listening to the music in this video makes me really want to go back to those days. I still play Minecraft :3

I used to always think I was a fuck up, a lot when my dad yelled at me. Video games have always been a beautiful escape for me, a new place to find motivation in darker times. I remember playing on my Aunt’s boyfriend’s computer and finding a diamond vein six blocks below dirt, and going insane. I remember building a quaint dirt shack and lining with flowers as my only decoration like a hippie bunker. This game really hits me hard, and even now when I barely play survival I always look back on the first worlds I touched lost to time. The game is something so special... it’s a cultural touchstone that will never be outmatched. I can’t believe I’m breaking down over a sand box block game but here we are. I’m tired. It’s late. Thank you, Notch, Jeb. It’s been a surprisingly smooth ride.
Wrong account I'm using but man, you are right. Video games were always a different world that I can enjoy instead of Earth. If I had my XBox, I would go through all my worlds I created. I should have one that I left for years just because the cave noises were too creepy for my soul to handle. (CD 11 and 13 I think-) I still play Minecraft on my PS4 but it can't compare to my old glory days where finding a cache of iron was so damn great.
Im 14 now but when I was 9 or 10 I used to play All night with some random guy I met, and we used to play all day, doing random things like looking for villages, taming wolves, killing animals etc. But I remember 1 thing about my time playing with him. It was around 2 in the morning and we were messing around doing Minecraft things and he would just talk to me even though I didn’t have a mic, but it was getting late so we both had to go to bed. All I remember was just him saying “I’m gonna go to bed, we’ll play tomorrow.” We never played since that day and he’s been offline ever since. Every time I think about our world that we spent so many hours on just grinding on, it makes me wanna cry so much and I’m not gonna lie I miss that dude so much.
I've come to the realisation that Minecraft isn't just a game. its a family filled with loving people that care for one another unconditionally. No one cares about your preferences on the game. You may prefer to mine, farm, or, like me, pick up every type of flower you can find on the survival world you made. And yet even though they may have a different perspective on what part of the game is better, they refuse to judge you. And that is special, something irreplaceable and ultimately a characteristic about this community that is so absolutely wonderful that I honestly feel at home when I am with these people. They're open arms soothe me and reassure me of my current problems. I may be in severe distress, and a person that I have never met before will brighten up my day. So many friends were made on this game. It is simply impossible to describe how absolutely enthralling it is to meet someone new, where they're so kind and make your day shine bright. I remember meeting so many people, and without them I don't know where I would be. And although that sounds like an exaggeration, I can wholeheartedly assure you that I am one-hundred percent sincere. I honestly have no idea whatsoever. And although it's simple mechanics bore people that have not had the enlivening opportunity to play it, it's the biggest factor in what created this community. Due to it's simplicity, the audience this game has created are easy-going and simple people. The community loves the game, and for good reason. Not only is it an escape, but also a way to provide happiness. It provides emotions that many games cannot provoke. Sadness, relief, happiness. I can assure you that you have undoubtedly felt these three things before. So, I ask to say once again, that Minecraft isn't just a game. It's the cause of a family. A family that unconditionally loves. A family that cares without judgement. A family that ensures the happiness of it's members. And I don't think that's replaceable. So keep it while it lasts.
Dam it’s been so long since I played Minecraft like crazy in 2012 every day after hs me and my friends would get on skype and play all 8 of us on Xbox 360 we would just go explore even though it wasn’t much but when the villager and biomes updates hit we were on all night good times until we hit junior year and kinda drifted apart I can still go into the world and see our big mansion we made with our rooms and stuff we had we never did kill the ender dragon even tho we had everything ready :(
I hope Minecraft lives long enough that someday, far in the future, I can sit down and revisit it, showing it to my children and grandchildren. To take one final gift from simpler times, and get that wave of happiness and bliss I had when I was young.
Good ol times playing minecraft. None of my friends liked it. I would spend hours upon hours listening to the sounds, the music and just building playing by myself. I wish I had the joy of playing with other people back then.
I didn't get to play MC like you guys, because I was never interested in it but just by seeing all of you sharing your experiences and stories about it not being toxic... makes me really happy. I've always played fifa, NBA, wwe, and other sports games , and the occasional gta etc.. and those communities were almost always toxic . I would almost always be mad after a game . Seeing all of you united and reminiscing about your time playing this game just made me want to go back and actually spend some time playing MC. I remember going to a different elementary school and instead of getting made fun of I got a couple friends we all played Minecraft together almost every day and when one of us was sick we would play even longer and hope that they would get better soon. Oh the memories and when me and my cousin would play we would build shitty houses but it was ok we didn’t make fun of each other for it. I wish this sound was on Spotify. I love the rain and the super soft music. The background does contribute to the ambiance and makes me soooo nostalgic but for times when I can’t be distracted on youtube this would be incredible on Spotify ❤️
one of the clearest memories i have of this game. i was 6, and i brought my ipad to daycare with me. this was 2012/2013. i remember putting carpets over my glowstone and tricking my friends who sat at my table. one day, i had a bunch of diamonds i gave to my friends. i remember ny chicken coop. another kid called ryan actually spawned in a bunch of dogs for me. i made them their own little house. i remember building a giant zoo. i miss that and i wish i could bring it all back. ryan is also the person who introduced me to roblox. i watched in amazement as i signed up for a account. roblox may be good but minecraft holds a special place in my heart and always will.
Roblox is more on the sandbox side, given it has an entirely separate system for making games but both of these are beacons of unique ideas in gaming. Sure, they've had ups and downs and have a lot mainstream stuff but if you search long enough, you find the hidden gems and by god are they beautiful.
So I just started playing minecraft after a good 2 years after the dark ages, and I figured out my girlfriend has minecraft, but she doesn't know how to play it, so I usually give her a task to help progress through the game. Usually the task is simple, grab some dirt so we can fill holes, get some wood and cobble for the house, or find sheep to get some wool. I plan to finish the game with her. And share some nostalgia when we get older, knowing we either will play the game and become pros, or never play again and dance the night away. Watching this video and seeing all the old textures from the OG days of minecraft has brought me to tears multiple times knowing we'll one day have to retire Minecraft. But I'm sure the legacy of minecraft will never die. I wish everybody a Merry Christmas, and good fortune/luck in life. This brings me back to such a peaceful place in my mind, it takes me back to 2012 and i feel like Im happy and a kid again. I miss those feelings, and it sucks that we can never go back. Ive been having a really hard time these past few years, but whenever i listen to minecraft music, it reminds me how peaceful and happy life can be, i wish it was that way all the time, and maybe one day it can, but until then i will come back to these videos and feel what i used to feel back in 2012, i hope everyones doing well.

We all remember that first thing we did, the first time we spawned in a world First time we broke a tree with our fist. First time we built a house. And we all know that there will be the last times of that. We know it's coming. We just don't know when. People say that minecraft is a good game. But most the people in this comment section, minecraft has touched there hearts. Like it had touched mine. I wish that minecraft could go back to those old days when we had no nether update, nothing like that. But we must put that behind us. And carry on through whatever minecraft puts us through. Nope ur definitely not. I came here to get away from suicidal thoughts and hurting myself. Not only did this make me cry more, but made me think about all the amazing times I had bc of this game, and if I passed I wouldn’t be able to make more. I’m so happy Minecraft was made, it’s had the biggest impact on so many of our lives.

I remember playing Minecraft on my phone because my parents didn’t allow me to play games on the pc. But whilst playing on the phone all I built were rollercoasters that went underground and throughout the whole map lol honestly with such a game, creativity and imagination is all you really needed and you were set for 2+ hours.

You know what always baffled me about the game?
Well, if Were to tell you, that there is a game out there where all you do is build and mine blocks, well, like anyone I guess you may assume it’s quite boring. But when you really get into it you realize just how lovingly simple it is, and how sweet the game is as well. Unlike other games where you have a gun and your running for your life trying to escape others, instead in Minecraft you have a stone sword you crafted yourself and your running away from the creeper that simply just won’t leave you alone even after you think you’ve killed it 20 times! It’s just too simple, to the point where it’s an amazing simple.
Instead of using emotions or emojis, it’s simply crouch up and down quickly to show that you’re happy, or lower your head down in sadness from the loss of your dog or perhaps that sheep that for some reason you got a good friendship with. Again simple.
Even though sadly today the kids that play Minecraft may be a little toxic, due to them losing their minds because they’re on a server and someone proceeded to kill them. But that just goes to show how much kids want from video games these days. From what the original Minecraft players like us wanted, We want to simple and that is exactly what we got from the game. Nothing in your face nothing coming out at you, the only thing that ever greeted you with the calming music and again any mob of that went ahead and decided to go into your house. But the one thing that Minecraft did that other games seem to fail to do, and which may be why we love it so much, is that it showed other games you don’t need to be big and bold you just need to feel at home sometimes.
So what truly baffles me, is that Minecraft was home. Where you made friends, but it was so simple! And like I forever say, just an amazing simple. Even with all the updates, if still is quite simple. You don’t need to watch walk throughs, you just need to let yourself drift you along.
So, here is my last glass for the simple, and let’s hope other games can take note of it.

I was listening to lofi, and I got a nightmare because of an eerie "sleeping" tune they were playing, I stopped sleeping to lofi then.
I then slept to this, and I had the best dream of being in my fantasy world in a cottage in a valley while it was raining. As I looked out the window, the beautiful sight of flower fields and the misty figures of extreme mountains in the far horizon, as rain poured unto my windows on the other side of the glass.
It was just mesmerising to see...
I then woke up, the rain had been physical tears this whole time...

It was a rainy day. People stay inside home because it isn’t very safe outside. Virus is getting worse despite medical workers working hard in the medical field, but we managed to slow the virus down, but the virus developed further and further, total organs failure, vomits, etc. you tell them. Celebrities crying because of quarantine inside their 1,000,000$ house, people panic buying toilets paper,... you know, the usual, we watch memes inside our house, eating and laughing. But i hear my grandson crying in his room, and when i enter his room, i saw him, sitting on his bed listening to something on his iPad, i asked: “why are you crying so loud?” he handed me his earbud, Minecraft wife enters the room and listening to what i am listen to. She cried.

Best game. Logged into my world not long ago. I saw a really nice building with my dogs waiting outside. I remember gathering food with them and I brung them everywhere. These dogs were from a long time ago when I first went looking for them and none of them died for all those years on all my journeys, the exact same dogs. Still alive to this day.

made me remember when i would hang out with my old friends everyday. we would run over to their house (they’re brother and sister, and they were next door) and hide out in either their guest bedroom, one of their own bedrooms, or the basement and turn all the lights out, with only the screen lighting up our joy filled faces. sometimes it would rain for real outside, and it made everything better. just the sound of the the rain, the soft minecraft music, the sound of us running on the grass, placing/mining a block, and the sounds of the three of us pressing buttons on our controllers. i always took that time for granted, and never knew how good i had it.
i’m not very close with them anymore, they did some stuff that damaged our friendships. we also grew up and parted farther apart, but deep inside i actually do miss the old them. i wish i could go back...

I got it the first week it had came out on mobile... A simple sandbox game called Minecraft. It was a game with only 4 blocks at the time. I built houses out of dirt that could be only 2 blocks high and was just a square tight house. I was only 3 at the time and it was a late afternoon when I got it. I remember playing all night. Trying to break trees and couldn’t figure out how to get wood. And trying to mine in survival with a sword. It was great back then when life just felt so much easier. And just less stressful. I played on my moms iPhone for a while. It was amazing. Playing with my little baby hands and with an undeveloped mind. I moved over to my Nana’s MAC computer. It was huge and I was mostly excited for the mobs on the computer. At the time mobile did not have dogs or any mobs at all. So I moved over to that and played for hours a day. I made a little world all by myself. I then taught a lot of my friends about it. It was awesome I worked so hard on that one world for hours. I was so happy. I had fallen in love with this sandbox game. It was just magical. It was my first day of kindergarten. I was completely petrified. I came home in tears. But when I heard the faint piano coming in the background. I felt like “ wow i did it...” and I played. I was so happy... I just felt like there is no such thing as growing up. I had horrible days but when I saw my dogs in Minecraft waiting for me to get home I was ok. I remember coming home and I was about to build my awesome aquarium today. I pushed the power on the computer and just sat and waited. It never worked. My nana told me the computer is dead. “What does that mean” i looked at her very confused. “It’s asleep forever.” She said. I was so sad. I had lost my dogs that had been waiting patiently all day for me. I told the computer “goodnight” and played again a year later. I lost a year and a half of memories in that world. It was hard without it. I thought life was hard. And difficult. It was the holidays of 2014 And I opened a brand new Xbox one. I was so excited. It had came with it... minecraft. I was so excited. I started a brand new world immediately. With my two best friends. We called It MJH our initials. We played for hours a day and ate crunchy chocolate chip cookies. We worked for two hard years. I decided to look at the settings on Xbox. I pushed “RESET” it reset my whole Xbox. I had yet lost another great world of memories. I got news that we are moving. I had to leave my best friends behind. I had realized at that moment... life is tough... and not easy... I moved on to Fortnite for a while. I created big skill levels to play professionally. I started a new world with my best friends Nathan and Joshua And Harper recently. I realized it had MJH In it like our other MJH world.
I just cried....

I remember when I first got the game back in 2012 and made so many memories on different worlds with different friends each sharing their unique moments. I recall that being one of the most peaceful, bliss times of life. Things aren’t as simple nowadays but I’ve got back into the game recently and started one of my best worlds ever. With all the stresses and pressures of life, this has helped me really relax and taken me back to being a child for a bit. Thank you for this video :)

I used to always think I was a fuck up, a lot when my dad yelled at me. Video games have always been a beautiful escape for me, a new place to find motivation in darker times. I remember playing on my Aunt’s boyfriend’s computer and finding a diamond vein six blocks below dirt, and going insane. I remember building a quaint dirt shack and lining with flowers as my only decoration like a hippie bunker. This game really hits me hard, and even now when I barely play survival I always look back on the first worlds I touched lost to time. The game is something so special... it’s a cultural touchstone that will never be outmatched. I can’t believe I’m breaking down over a sand box block game but here we are. I’m tired. It’s late. Thank you, Notch, Jeb. It’s been a surprisingly smooth ride.

Im 14 now but when I was 9 or 10 I used to play All night with some random guy I met, and we used to play all day, doing random things like looking for villages, taming wolves, killing animals etc. But I remember 1 thing about my time playing with him. It was around 2 in the morning and we were messing around doing Minecraft things and he would just talk to me even though I didn’t have a mic, but it was getting late so we both had to go to bed. All I remember was just him saying “I’m gonna go to bed, we’ll play tomorrow.” We never played since that day and he’s been offline ever since. Every time I think about our world that we spent so many hours on just grinding on, it makes me wanna cry so much and I’m not gonna lie I miss that dude so much.
I've come to the realisation that Minecraft isn't just a game. its a family filled with loving people that care for one another unconditionally. No one cares about your preferences on the game. You may prefer to mine, farm, or, like me, pick up every type of flower you can find on the survival world you made. And yet even though they may have a different perspective on what part of the game is better, they refuse to judge you. And that is special, something irreplaceable and ultimately a characteristic about this community that is so absolutely wonderful that I honestly feel at home when I am with these people. They're open arms soothe me and reassure me of my current problems. I may be in severe distress, and a person that I have never met before will brighten up my day.
So many friends were made on this game. It is simply impossible to describe how absolutely enthralling it is to meet someone new, where they're so kind and make your day shine bright. I remember meeting so many people, and without them I don't know where I would be. And although that sounds like an exaggeration, I can wholeheartedly assure you that I am one-hundred percent sincere. I honestly have no idea whatsoever.
And although it's simple mechanics bore people that have not had the enlivening opportunity to play it, it's the biggest factor in what created this community. Due to it's simplicity, the audience this game has created are easy-going and simple people. The community loves the game, and for good reason. Not only is it an escape, but also a way to provide happiness. It provides emotions that many games cannot provoke. Sadness, relief, happiness. I can assure you that you have undoubtedly felt these three things before.
So, I ask to say once again, that Minecraft isn't just a game. It's the cause of a family. A family that unconditionally loves. A family that cares without judgement. A family that ensures the happiness of it's members. And I don't think that's replaceable. So keep it while it lasts.

Dam it’s been so long since I played Minecraft like crazy in 2012 every day after hs me and my friends would get on skype and play all 8 of us on Xbox 360 we would just go explore even though it wasn’t much but when the villager and biomes updates hit we were on all night good times until we hit junior year and kinda drifted apart I can still go into the world and see our big mansion we made with our rooms and stuff we had we never did kill the ender dragon even tho we had everything ready :(

I don't get why so many people find it annoying when it rains in Minecraft, I kinda like it.
I didn't get to play MC like you guys, because I was never interested in it but just by seeing all of you sharing your experiences and stories about it not being toxic... makes me really happy. I've always played fifa, NBA, wwe, and other sports games , and the occasional gta etc.. and those communities were almost always toxic . I would almost always be mad after a game . Seeing all of you united and reminiscing about your time playing this game just made me want to go back and actually spend some time playing MC. Excuse my poor English, it isn't my first language, But I just want to Say thank you to all of you , because of you I finally remembered the ultimate goal of a game and it is to have fun a create memories. I remember going to a different elementary school and instead of getting made fun of I got a couple friends we all played Minecraft together almost every day and when one of us was sick we would play even longer and hope that they would get better soon. Oh the memories and when me and my cousin would play we would build shitty houses but it was ok we didn’t make fun of each other for it. one of the clearest memories i have of this game. i was 6, and i brought my ipad to daycare with me. this was 2012/2013. i remember putting carpets over my glowstone and tricking my friends who sat at my table. one day, i had a bunch of diamonds i gave to my friends. i remember ny chicken coop. another kid called ryan actually spawned in a bunch of dogs for me. i made them their own little house. i remember building a giant zoo. i miss that and i wish i could bring it all back.
ryan is also the person who introduced me to roblox. i watched in amazement as i signed up for a account.
roblox may be good but minecraft holds a special place in my heart and always will.
Roblox is more on the sandbox side, given it has an entirely separate system for making games but both of these are beacons of unique ideas in gaming. Sure, they've had ups and downs and have a lot mainstream stuff but if you search long enough, you find the hidden gems and by god are they beautiful.
Remember when they first added beds and monsters would spawn after trying to sleep? 😴
So I just started playing minecraft after a good 2 years after the dark ages, and I figured out my girlfriend has minecraft, but she doesn't know how to play it, so I usually give her a task to help progress through the game.
Usually the task is simple, grab some dirt so we can fill holes, get some wood and cobble for the house, or find sheep to get some wool. I plan to finish the game with her. And share some nostalgia when we get older, knowing we either will play the game and become pros, or never play again and dance the night away.
Watching this video and seeing all the old textures from the OG days of minecraft has brought me to tears multiple times knowing we'll one day have to retire Minecraft. But I'm sure the legacy of minecraft will never die.

Not only did this make me cry more, but made me think about all the amazing times I had bc of this game, and if I passed I wouldn’t be able to make more. I remember playing Minecraft on my phone because my parents didn’t allow me to play games on the pc. But whilst playing on the phone all I built were rollercoasters that went underground and throughout the whole map lol honestly with such a game, creativity and imagination is all you really needed and you were set for 2+ hours.
