44yrs supporting liverpool I'm also surprised how the players adapted to new style or tactics very quickly Slot surprised me with his tactical masterclass
Slot style of play is a perfect harmony of Klopp and Guardiola' football philosophy. He has combined Tika taka of Guardialo and klopps gegenpressing in a singular style and this is the most effective tactical method of playing football.
Slot Observed city well, i remember Slot played against Mourinho Roma, And he said before the game that he didnt watched roma but watched City Instead, And Mourinho saw that him saying that, After the game When feyenoord lost, Mourinho Told and was pissed he screamed:Slot RESPECT RESPECT You Watch Man city Napoli You Should have watched Us! I’m amazed people aren’t mentioning that Man united and Liverpool played a preseason game in the USA a month ago. Same result 3-0 to LFC. It appears that Ten Hag learnt nothing. The training videos under Slot appear to be very different from Klopp. Large group rondo games and the gym built for strength and conditioning. Not just exercise. He’s used the midfield 3 in a different way.
The transition from Klopp to Slot has been seamless, slick and smooth and believe it or not Slot is an upgrade to Klopp cause tactically we are way balanced and controlled and deadly with the ball 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Slot is a Don....and he wasn't 3rd choice LFC had all this planned, that's why we have all these Dutch players as well.....all the media PR stuff is a charade....the way that he packs whatever part of the pitch the team are operating will make it really hard for any team to score and Arne is hardcore, if you don't do your job, do the work then you won't play, but because he's bang on with his tactics he gets the respect and its a positive feedback now....no goals conceding is just amazing, that's how you win leagues.....
@@KTopics I don't know, Alonso knows his own mind and he's a Red, they would have probably had a conversation and known what he wanted to do....but he is a good manager....Slot has more experience though....
The continuity has been great and the start to the season has been perfect. Biggest surprise to me is not only the clean sheets, but also the sheer lack of big chances we are giving up at the back, which is a stark contrast to last season, without dampening the attacking prowess of the team. For a manager to do that is pretty special, considering alot of the players missed the pre-season tour because of the Euros. Being top of the league in XG and bottom in XG against is remarkable honestly. My only concern is the lack of reinforcements and possible injuries to the DMs and CBs as the season becomes 3 games a week, but so far, I cant complain
Shored up the defence, more in control of the game, just as deadly at the business end of the park and what a lot of people seem to be missing, this is only the second season together for the midfield rebuild and so far he's got Salah back to his lethal best and Diaz on fire. We will challenge

as a Liverpool fan, Im as excited as the next person but if we've learned anything from observing the prem, its to not overestimate ourselves especially when its only the start of the season.
Liverpool problem is always the defending which klopp was lacking. Too much offensive power. If that's not the case, they would win alot more trophy. Now under slot, it looks like a fortress.
I'm not going to get too excited. It's undoubtedly a good start though. I'm very impressed with the clean sheets and I hope they can get a lot more of those this season. VVD used to have a real passion for clean sheets!
I’ve been a Liverpool fan since 1978, been through it all and seen some great managers. And some mediocre ones. Slot seems to have brought some order to the chaos that was often there under Klopp. Good solid start, hope it continues..👍🏻
Arne Slot is doing things the right way. He recognizes that the talent is already set and changing things will only be their downfall. I noticed the one things that is very important here. He minimized the use of Gegenpressing to which if they have a lead instead of pushing for more pressing he turns them into a tiki taka version of Barcelona punishing the opponents defense this will be crucial because the premier league is a very grinding season which I think the players there have appreciated this because their longevity has been prioritized.
Liverpool fan here. Spot on Mark, great analysis. Ahead of all rival UA-camrs and so-called pundits with your opinion on Slot and the progression so far.
I'm a Liverpool fan and there's NO WAY I was expecting the transition to be this smooth. I couldn't be more impressed with how Slot has put this team together.
Klopps downfall was giving Nunez too many minutes near the end. His conversion was horrible and it cost him. However the team slot has inherited in nothing short of incredible. Arguably one of the best right wingers in prem history in Salah VVD Alison Trent Diaz Robertson It’s literally unbelievable how good they are
What Slot has done is create a hybrid system of his style at Feyenoord and Klopp's Liverpool style. So we still have that dynamism in attack, but we're also much more controlled in possession and far more compact in defence.
Fans on IG were so in uproar about not signing a DM but I was saying Slot likes the two CMs in there, yes theyre not so defensive but with the CBs getting behind the ball more its okay AND they are more versatile to go forward too when needed (Gravenberch on Sunday). He is so cool and smart tactically as well and changes things on the spot which is great
The most important factor here is that Slot seems able to dissect the opponents tactics very quickly and give clear concise instructions to his player on how to overcome them. Klopp was a supreme motivator but over a season burnt these players out and the drop off was severe when it came.
I think Liverpool made the right decision not signing to many new players from the get go just for the sake of buying, especially when getting in a new manager. When Slot has found his bearings for the first half of the season it's a much better moment to add new players in the January transfer window. Better way to go about financials, and finding the right fits imo.
As a Liverpool fan I was very pessimistic about slot after enjoying many years under Klopp but I am now realising that this is very much a fantastic appointment. I’m not an FSG fan but they have certainly got this appointment right
I’m a Liverpool fan and I believed this would be our ‘building’ season under a new manager where he saw what’s was wrong with the team and what’s good, but I also thought we wouldn’t do great this season because slot has just changed the team tremendously and going into the next game I’m very optimistic of what slot can do and what he has already done it’s so nice to see one manager has respected their predecessor in a way and it’s looking good at the moment very happy with the way slot has built on klopp’s original team - outstanding.
I know it’s early days but the fact he’s come in and the players are talking positively about him and his tactics bodes well. You can actually see how much he respects what the team has done previously and tweaked it. Great point that he’s not come in with an ego and wanted to change everything
Feyenoord fan here who watched both feyenoord and liverpool last year, its not only that Slot has the respect to continue on Klopps work. But they already where quite the same anyway, both play in the same line up, both like to press and play energetic football which entertain the crowd, they both are good people managers and can improve young players even the way they handle the media is quite the same hahah. And sure Slot is changing some things here and there like being in possestion a little more and little changes in defending and pressing, but the big picture is staying the same. so they didnt looked for someone who was willing to contintue the project, they looked for someone who is going to do his own thing while that thing was a close as possible as it was now, and i can assure you Slot is defenatly just doing his own thing cuz how they play is excactly how Feyenoord and Az played under him. Thats why he is just such a good trainer, his way of playing is at everry club verry clear from the 3th game on, at feyenoord first year he came he only spend 5 million and after 3 games they played like that, year later they sold more than half the team (cuz of need for money), spend less than what came in, complete new team and you guess it, in gameweek 3 they already played like that. I am telling you what you see now is just the tip of the iceberg this man is absolutely INSANE and i am telling you this man is gonna do Big things with Liverpool, already said that he is going to play for first place in epl when he just came in, many laughed at me and made a fool of me, but watch and see
As a Liverpool fan for over 40 years, we are not unbelievable. Slot has started from a very solid position, his style of play is very similar to Klopp's, and the season is only 3 games old. Man U are poor, the other 2 games you would expect us to win. Once we have played the contenders we will see where we stand.
You’re not a true fan, regardless of how many years you’ve watched them. Slot has not lost a match yet, the defense has improved a ton. Even in pre season.
I think we should not underestimate how challenging it will be to come work in a place haunted by Klopp's ghost. Almost every interview with Liverpool players reference Klopp. Every article, discussion, tactical breakdown on Liverpool has Klopp's shadow all over it. To come and work in an environment such as this and succeed takes incredible self-belief and strength of character, apart from obviously being a good coach. Early days but I think Arne Slot deserves a lot more credit.
the transition from Klopp has been seemless. if anything Slott has brought much needed calmness & control. some of the players seem rejuvinated under Arne, especially Gravenberch, Mo, Konate & VVD. so far so good, but no need for the open top bus just yet.
Mainoo is a potentially great player, but Man Utd are putting far too much on him at such a young age. Getting pulled into the England Team is ridiculous. It’s at the point of actively harming his development. Liverpool’s Bajcetic is a better player, but they are taking it steady with him.
I wouldn't have predicted this. Slot is such a good manager. He's got his style of play on the players immediately . Hopefully Chiesa hits the ground running too.
Actually the reason why we have a successful continuity is our owners FSG prepared the plan for Slot to continue from Klopp. It’s not just Slot came in and change everything. We don’t spend millions on new players and expect them to do magic right away on the pitch. We believe in player development through data science and make sure the player is fit for our playing style. Other clubs spends billion, changes managers…. they change things so often.
Very well said mark but one of the key things for Arne slot is there wasn’t any dead wood to get rid of plus the transition of gravenbirch into the pivot with macallister has just saved us over 100mill easy plus the squad depth is quite strong 👍

Very well analyzed, Mark! I see some Liverpool content on UA-cam where "Fans" rage about FSG not spending enough, but i think as a Liverpool Fan you have to see they have been really going in the right direction in the last years, winning titles, investing in the Stadium and Training ground without breaking any financial rules. In the long run this will pay off!
It's not easy transitioning to Hyper Pace Klopp system to much more Pragmatic Slow build up Slot ball but somehow he made these players work on his system Gravernberch is playing like Sergio busquts it's insane
The only Liverpool fans who want FSG out are plastic ones that have never seen Anfield in their life. the majority of fans trust FSG, know how FSG works and understand that they have won us everything. More than any previous premier league era owners. For those saying "spend more money" look at Utd and Chelsea. Where did spending get them?.
@@NemwelOngosisuch a stupid comment. So what’s the answer? FSG spend more? Still can’t spend more than FSG and still playing against Pep and still playing against a team bending the rules.
One correction - Arne Slot was Liverpool’s first choice. Alonso ruled himself out of any job before Liverpool had their DOF in place, and Amorim was ruled out due to the differences in playing style between him and Klopp. De Zerbi was also mention in rumours, but never really got beyond that.
Klopp greatest Liverpool manager in my opinion. 44yrs supporting liverpool I'm also surprised how the players adapted to new style or tactics very quickly Slot surprised me with his tactical masterclass
So true Mark. I appreciate your honest view being a united fan. 😊

Slot style of play is a perfect harmony of Klopp and Guardiola' football philosophy. He has combined Tika taka of Guardialo and klopps gegenpressing in a singular style and this is the most effective tactical method of playing football.

Your analysis is bang on mate.
I just love that all the rival fans were saying Liverpool are finished after Klopp
Instead Liverpool Upgraded 😂
I was thinking the same thing myself
Finished club
yes you're right. Utd are 👍🏼
Pep must be going nuts thinking he'd got rid of klopp only to still have Liverpool breathing down his neck.
I think Pep does not underestimate what Slot can do with Liverpool. Pep is a very smart guy.
this is why i follow this dude even ad a LFC fan, passionate for his club, but still see other clubs and can talk about other clubs achivments etc.
The transition from Klopp to Slot has been seamless, slick and smooth and believe it or not Slot is an upgrade to Klopp cause tactically we are way balanced and controlled and deadly with the ball
🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Slot is better mate. Hard to admit but its just the reality. Liverpool fan here
Cant compare just 3 games of Slot to 9 years of Klopp
Look at the squad Klopp has started with and where he has taken liverpool
Cmon now, pump the brakes a little. I like Slot, but it’s been only THREE games.
They wanted alonso don't lie.
@@KTopics I don't know, Alonso knows his own mind and he's a Red, they would have probably had a conversation and known what he wanted to do....but he is a good manager....Slot has more experience though....
The way Liverpool as a family club have transitioned show you how strong that club is. Nice video mark! Great content.
Liverpool fan here. Just want to say your unbiased fact-based commentary is much needed. Keep up the good work.
Shored up the defence, more in control of the game, just as deadly at the business end of the park and what a lot of people seem to be missing, this is only the second season together for the midfield rebuild and so far he's got Salah back to his lethal best and Diaz on fire. We will challenge
As an Arsenal fan I think Pool will bag the title this season. You seem to be more electric than any other top 4 teams at the moment.
Chiesa warming up on the sidelines to relieve Diaz or Salah should scare the living day lights of every fullback in the league.
If we actually make signings this January unlike last winter window were winning pl. Grav as 8 next to a dm plus mac allister is crazy good@onlydbrasko
If not for the failure to punish that 115 club, if not for dodgy inconsistent refs, Liverpool would have had at least 2 more titles
or if they stopped not having the bottle for it
Yeah 115 was kicking the ball and 115 scoring goals good point covering up liverpool failure

Gravenberch's transformation under Slot is unbelievable and Klopp to Slot transition is reminding me of Shankly to Paisley Shankly build the team and Paisley dominated it same as Klopp did for Slot
as a Liverpool fan, Im as excited as the next person but if we've learned anything from observing the prem, its to not overestimate ourselves especially when its only the start of the season.
Very objective and football friendly channel. Well done, Mark. From a Liverpool fan.
Never thought a hardcore Utd fan would be the most unbiased pundit around, Fair play💪.
Nah VVD is Dutch and uses a duvet.
Imagine thinking Liverpool were going to have a drop off. 😂🤦🏻♂️
Well see against real
Yes we will.
I’ve been a Liverpool fan since 1978, been through it all and seen some great managers. And some mediocre ones. Slot seems to have brought some order to the chaos that was often there under Klopp. Good solid start, hope it continues..👍🏻
Great post.
Great post.
Clearly, FSG know how to run a football club.
Agree with you
Please don't give credit to John Henry etc.
fantastic insights Mark. Balanced and informed as usual.
Klopp was only the beginning. Slot is gonna take Liverpool to a whole new level. Real, City, Liverpool.
Liverpool fan here. Spot on Mark, great analysis. Ahead of all rival UA-camrs and so-called pundits with your opinion on Slot and the progression so far.
Mark working tirelessly to not say he was wrong for backing ten Hag.
Arguably one of the best right wingers in prem history in Salah
VVD
Alison
Trent
Diaz
Robertson
It’s literally unbelievable how good they are
Definitely..
The transition of Liverpool FC from Klopp to Slot reminds me of the transition from Shankly to Paisley. It's THAT smooth
What Slot has done is create a hybrid system of his style at Feyenoord and Klopp's Liverpool style. So we still have that dynamism in attack, but we're also much more controlled in possession and far more compact in defence.
Great post reply
Very good observations, spot on Bridge!
Slot is a record breaking manager! At Feyenoord he set so many new club and eredivisie records!
I’m not an FSG fan but they have certainly got this appointment right
I think you may well be a pessimist. How about the new Kit any comments either way?
@@terrykirby-fahey7363 love them all this year.

Excellent post.
I know it’s early days but the fact he’s come in and the players are talking positively about him and his tactics bodes well. You can actually see how much he respects what the team has done previously and tweaked it. Great point that he’s not come in with an ego and wanted to change everything
I really like the way Liverpool play, the speed and attack front foot always ✌️ I am not even Liverpool fan 🙌

My thoughts aswell, Ynwa
this is my favourite Liverpool News Channel
the transition from Klopp has been seemless. if anything Slott has brought much needed calmness & control. some of the players seem rejuvinated under Arne, especially Gravenberch, Mo, Konate & VVD. so far so good, but no need for the open top bus just yet.
As a Liverpool fan, I’m impressed by your objective and honest thoughts.
Dropping Nunez has done them the world of good!
He isn’t good enough for Liverpool
yes yes yes, finally someone acknowledges this!! Nuñez simply not clinical enough and generally very clumsy
Nice to hear a sensible interpretation about Arne slot and Liverpool, good on you Mark
Feel bad Mainoo even as a Liverpool fan, stuck in a rotten club / set up
Hes be perfect in our pivot to be honest
Ok…
he has to play with bruno fernandes and casemiro I feel for the guy
yeah, he has the talent. though he is being overhyped and setup at both club and country level.
Very genuine assessment
I love how fair and even you are Mark, fair play.

It's a strong start, and regardless of opponents it's easy to drop points against anyone in the first few games whilst the team is finding it's feet.
Especially so with a new manager.

Very well analyzed, Mark!
