    I went from Logitech, to Fanatec, to Moza, to simagic, and I really enjoy the simagic gear. Super happy with the simagic hydraulic pedals. It has and amazing amount of configurations for the load cell brake pedal. The haptics on the pedals is pretty dang good.

      Is the smoothness of the wheel base a massive difference from your moza?

    • @CouchSlouch-
      @CouchSlouch- 7 місяців тому +1

      @@emouthic556 To me, the simagic FFB feels like it has a little more detail. Moza's FFB feels muted when comparing them, no matter the settings I would use. The Moza does feel stronger, but it does have 1 more nm of strength than the Simagic Alpha.

    I went from a 10yo Clubsport and BMW rim to the Mini and the Neo after a great deal of research. After getting used to it (soft and hardware) my first thought was "You cheating dogs!" hah. The information coming from the wheel was like going from dialup to broadband and made my gameplay so much more immersive. I have had it for a couple of weeks and the honeymoon period shows no sign of coming to a close. I have also just found out how good older street cars are with 1200 degrees of rotation and ATS run with over 2k wheel rotation just puts me there.
    BTW I put the hard lock at 220 for ACC. It is not often in the big scheme of things that I have to go past that in GT3's but I can push through it when needed but a tank slapper wont adjust my thumbs to places I do not like. Also GT3 across the top of Bathurst now has a whole level of pucker factor that I have not experienced before. Zero regrets on the ecosystem change.

      Hi Shane, my very first wheel was a Thrustmaster T80, then G920, T300 RS, then the DD1 for the last 3 years, and now the Simagic.
      Direct drive is absolutely the way to go if everyone can.
      The DD1 was too much for me due to the older rig I had and an ongoing left shoulder issue. I didn't run it above 6-8NM in ACC and lately LMU/AMS2.
      The Simagic Alpha Mini 10Nm is more than enough for me in ACC, LMP2 & HY cars in LMU.
      The 300 mm wheel is a really nice upgrade, too. I'm impressed, and as a bonus, I've set a new PB at Le Mans in LMU yesterday and then improved again today.
      Thanks for watching.

      @@JamesClarksonSimracing Same situation here, I have DD1 and have developed a shoulder impingement which probably is more due to the ergonomics of my previous setup. I've also reduced force to 6-8 nm whilst trying to rehab my shoulder. I was planning to swith to Asetek Invicta later this year but will probably have to reconsider it. How's your shoulder improving? I've just had 2 weeks of rest and recovery is very slow...

    • @JamesClarksonSimracing
      @JamesClarksonSimracing  8 місяців тому

      I had the left shoulder issue for a few months, kind of on/off, but nearly always present it did improve after running lower FFB for a month or two. The Simagic Alpha Mini I had on maximum torque initially and adjusted the gain down in the sims. I will need to reduce FFB again as my left shoulder struggles to do longer races, which is a shame as I prefer more wheel weight.
      The new simrig does mean both seating, wheel position & height changed, so my ergonomics changed last week, so hopefully, things will be different.
      It is not great when you have a hobby that you can't enjoy as much as you wish, but stay positive.
      Good luck with your shoulder and Simracing.

    I just switched from a CSL-DD 8 nm + McLaren GT3 to a Simagic Alpha + Neo. I didn't really have a major issue with Fanatec or the DD, just wanted some 15+ NM (mostly just to get more exercise!) and Simicube was a lot more expensive for what it is. Really liking it in the first month.

      @@Benedict00_MankoMuncher the dd+ would be the direct comparison which would be more quite a bit more expensive and all the reviews said the simagic was better. I will say the Neo wheel was also fairly convincing since it's a step up from the McLaren GT3 wheel

      @@barnabyjames I think I'm going to go for the simagic also. Was thinking the alpha but might go for alpha u so I can run it at 70 percent ffb and that way it runs cooler maybe and more optimal.
      But how is the alpha so far? Does it clip a lot? Do you have to turn down the ffb? Thank you.

    • @barnabyjames
      @barnabyjames 8 місяців тому

      @@Benedict00_MankoMuncher I run at 100% force but use the auto setting in iRacing to avoid clipping. I've turned it up beyond that and it seems plenty strong but what you say about clipping is fair. I would say you won't need it TBH but the extra cost to the ultra is not huge and Simagic seems to be the best value for money right now.

    I did the same 1,5 year ago and never looked back.
    Only thing I want is that Simagic release a Neo like priced 32cm round wheel because the GT1 is around 450 euro over here and I would only use it for some rally

      I had the Alpha in my basket, but then I tested 10Nm in 3 different Sims in different car classes too after seeing the Raceanywhere.co.uk Simagic bundle it meant I also got my first aluminium profile rig which makes such a difference compared to my years old GT Omega tubular rig.

    I do think the ffb is gonna be better on the Fanatec. But to be honest, i just wish I knew how big that difference actually is.
    As a csl dd user, would I be impressed regardless of which base I chose? Im particularly worried about losing low torque fidelity- something the csl dd is known to be good for

      Hello
      I'm impressed, and I was on a DD1 for 3 years. The FFB and software are better. The FFB is detailed and smooth.
      Not many actually run 15Nm, but nice to have. I thoroughly tested 10Nm on DD1 before deciding Simagic Alpha Mini would be good for me as I had Alpha in basket but I would never use 15Nm, plus a bundle meant a new Simrig which was a very good purchase.
      I didn't want to use SRM or Podium hub on DD1 and also upgrade to QR2 for improved QR to use GT Neo.
      You wouldn't be disappointed with a DD+ or any modern DD wheelbase. Check out Asetek and others too like I did.
