It's amazing how Olesia Dudnik matured between this meet and the world championships in october 1989. She was one of the best during those championships. Perhaps even the best.

Yeah the Soviets were underscored but at least everyone knew they were the class of that field no matter what the numbers said. Give the "Winners" here their little hope/fake victories; they still got utterly destroyed at Worlds.
