Thing with the Knicks is, they've got 3 guys who'll give you 40 if you let 'em (Brunson, Randle, Quickley); 3 MORE guys who'll put 30 on you if the others can't (Toppin, Barrett, Grimes); and Josh Hart will (pardon the pun) tear your heart out and make you eat it with 15 pts., 10 rebounds, steals, and timely assists. All that on a team playing Thibideaux defense and it's a tough, tough series for anybody--particularly after losing home court. I don't envy Cleveland's road ahead. Nice podcast, though. 👍
Turnovers and rebounding is the story of this series. Which ever team limits their turnovers and win the rebounding wins the game so far. I said this before this series and so far it is holding up.
As good as Mitchell's been, I liked how the Gav's played when they had Markkanen. 3 seven footers was a matchup nightmare and Markkanen was just coming into his own. They could have kept him and used those 1st round picks to bring in a stud or two.
Lauri would never be as good as he is if it wasn’t for the deal, I don’t regret the cavs trading for Mitchell at all, the picks are useless since they’ll be in the 20s
@Dylan Shira also, that's false...Lauri said his off-season with his national team made his game 100% better and what he did with Utah he was gonna bring to the cavs if it wasn't for the trade.
@@dylanshira5656 These day later draft picks are MUCH more valuable than 15 years ago. The overall talent is way better these days...we had to overpay for DM bec the Gobert trade ruined the entire trade market
The problem with our bigs is that they aren't able to score if you throw them the ball in the low block. Mobley showed signs in the regular season but he isn't strong enough to against physical teams or players. Allen has no post game at all the only way he can score is on lobs or when a teammate finds him open so he needs someone to create an open shot for him. Garland was trying to hard so he was forcing things. Mitchell turned the ball over too much. We didn't get any bench production. This is a personale issue.
We know Cedi sucks, the bench is bad. Allen and Mobley get bullied by big front courts. It's a shame Okoro can't shoot and Windler was a bust. Thing is they knew all this before giving away the farm for Mitchell. Now, it's tough to fix it. Cavs are a fun team and may beat the Knicks, but Bucks, Celts and Sixers are at another level.
cavs dont need no bench. If Mobley and garland would get their head out of their asses we would be fine. and our finish to the second half with levert just dropping a wide open pass leading to a dunk was just a great example of the team not focused.
Cavs need a bench….until that happens I can’t take them serious. Koby Altman and JB refused to get help at the trade deadline. Koby Altman as good as he has been, erred very badly by not making any moves at the trade deadline. They kept saying, we want these guys to grow together….ok cool but if they had some help, they probably would make a deeper run in the playoffs, thus more experience.
We don't have many assets to make a trade with...the Gobert trade screwed up the market, so in turn we overpaid for Mitchell thereby leaving us with minimal trade ability.
What do y'all expect from Allen? Look at all his points from the regular season. Most of his buckets were assisted. Jarrett doesn't get his points from him having offensive moves. Mobley isn't strong enough to hold his position in the post or when it comes to boxing out for rebounds he has to put on a few pounds of muscle. Until Mobley becomes whatever it is everyone predicts he'll become a 20-10 guy consistently and Darius Garland has to be 20-8 22-8 always the Cavs are going to struggle. Let's go Cavs! Let's go Cavs! Let's go Cavs!
JT Barrett, huh? Haha. Anyway, I mostly agree with you guys. How do you have this many games in an nba season and nobody but you has scored less than 80? Wow. Our seven footers are getting out-muscled down low. Unless a rebound gets bounced around to the outside, we don’t get it.
Our bigs aren't strong enough to rebound in traffic against physical teams or physical players. Our guards had to many turnovers. Rebounding and turnovers will be the story of this series.
They say the goal of the Cavs is to "keep Donnavin happy". Did you see that dude last night? He is so in love with NY he was star struck by the crowd and environment and counting down the day to when he is a free agent. We can win the finals this year and the next 2 years and he will still run to NY.
@@FDP7777 We been selling out MSG through years of futility and we still hard-core Knicks fans. Meanwhile the Cavs gotta pump crowd cheering sounds through the loudspeakers in that 🗑 arena you play in. Hold this L my boy!
Earl, gotta disagree with ya bruh. I blame JB for not forcing the team to run the offense and defense up after the Knicks went up 10. Also, why didn't he play Stevens more when he was main part of the rotation this year? That makes no damn sense. He playing dudes like Green and Wade who weren't even part of the main rotation this year? JB needs to be quicker and make more plaayer subs during a game too.
I know you guys like your twin towers a lot but do NOT sleep on Mitch Robinson. Matches up very well against Allen. Extremely good center who blocks, rebounds runs the floor. Allen is not gonna just “do what he do” on Mitch who is showing the world he is on the same level defensively.
I have been saying it. Garland ain't it. He's a good player, but if he's the teams 2nd best player, CAVS are going nowhere. CAVS should trade him for the best wing he can bring back. PG maybe? He's not even a point. He turns it over way too much and he takes bad shots. He's the opposite of what a great pg should be.
They played timid basketball period!!! On the road in a hostile environment with refs letting guys play defense like they should. We didn’t attack enough period. They unambiguously coward in the moment of their first real test all year.
Even some of the best teams turn the ball over but the Cavs had way to many careless turnovers in that game combine that with awful shooting and you get blown out.
