My Surfboard Nearly Killed Me Marty’s Garden

- Two days ago I was surfing at my local break and I was struck by my surfboard in the knee.
I fractured it really badly and nearly drowned in the process.
The pain from the surfboard striking my knee while I was in the air was intense.
It was tha bad that I actually blacked out for a second while I was under the water.
Thank goodness I was able to keep some composure.
Also, I am so thankful to all the locals there who went out of their way to help me, and still are.

Dang Marty! Rest up and get better. I guess it's good you are growing in small spaces and don't have a huge garden to tend to, still a lot of work though. Take care. The eBook sounds like a good idea. Rock on surfer dude!

Comfrey poultice Marty, I fractured my big toe in 5 places, had to have surgery etc last year, comfrey is the bone healer (as you would know) healed in no time. Ebook sounds awesome. Take care, Jade

Thanks Kathryn,,it's a while to go yet,,but I am confident towards a full recovery. I just got to sit it out for eight weeks, no weight bearing on that leg.

I grow in tyres just cut the sidewall off , circle them with fine fencing to keep the wildlife off and can chuck shade cloth or birdnetting over when needed, some people worry about chemicals in the tyres, One can always paint the inside with a paintable Bitumen.
Works for me anyway.
I have grown in Tyres also over the years, even stacked one as a worm farm once and that worked extremely well. The Compost worms liked getting into the low part of the tyre.

Oh my goodness Marty this is not good, but thank God you made it out of the water safely..
It'll be a challenging 8 weeks for you and Karin but the time will pass before you know it.
Sadly I don't do f/b otherwise I would love to have been part of your f/b team.
But I do have a suggestion for a topic - 'Edible plants that can grow in shade'.
This could be very important info to know, seeing as the sun insists of hiding itself behind clouds most days.
Look after yourself Marty and take it easy - you and Karin are both in my prayers.

Hi Denise, it's going to be a long process, but I will be okay. Just need to ride it out.
I love the concept of how to grow greens in the shade,,,I actually do that here at my home.
I think it can almost be a minny ebook on it's own.

Earlier in the year I busted my kneecap clean in half skateboarding and now I'm nursing a fractured wrist. I was wearing a wrist guard before the accident but I took it off, forgot to put it back on, and stacked 10 minutes later. Maybe it's a sign for me to stop skating and start surfing? Yeah nah, knowing my luck on boards, I'd be fish food within an hour.

Gidday Camel,,,classic bro. I used to skate myself, started at 5 years of age on what they called a Surfy Sam,,old wooden deck with black rubber wheels. That things was a beast. Now I just ride up and down the boardwalk hehe.
