    I'm so thankful to have grown up with two organized parents. It took me a while to realize that when you tell some people to "put something away," they have no idea what you mean, because they have never established homes for anything in their spaces. What a nerve-racking way to live!

    • @AskAngelaBrown

      Excellent point Nancy. The same rules apply to people you tell to "go clean" something and they have never cleaned it before, don't know what that means, and don't know what the finished job is supposed to look like. Thanks for bringing this up. 👏👏👏

    Being disorganized also costs money in buying items because you can't find the ones you know you have 'somewhere'. It can also cost you your relationship... my ex was so chaotic and frequently experienced both the duplicated items and the late bill fees you describe. It stressed me immensely. I realized this would never change and could no longer bear to live that way, and moved back to my own home which I had been renting out simultaneously ending our relationship.

    • @Irene-gq4jr
      @Irene-gq4jr 6 років тому +3

      You really do get it Angela - big virtual hug right back at you. I think the chaos began in my ex's mind - I never met anyone who was so attention seeking and could talk crap so incessantly! - and the rest, including clutter and disorganization, followed. God knows I tried but with hindsight he fits the bill for HPD. We're still on good terms and I wish him well. He got used to living that way and when my tenants gave me notice I had to return home to save my sanity. I think some people will always be that way no matter what anyone else feels, says or does.

    I like to crochet, to quilt, to read, to go fishing. If I am organized I get stuff done quickly and have time for my hobbies. Disorganized people don't seem to get much done in my opinion. They just give up.

    As an Autistic person with ADHD, I'm both very organised, and disorganised at the same time, in a perpetual state of trying to get organised. Everything you say in this video is absolutely true! I'm lucky I have my finances all in order now, after many years looking for the right system for me, and it cost me a lot of money over the years. One of my "quirks" is that I buy duplicates and more, because I forget I have something due to disorganisation, or because I lost it for the same reason.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for sharing this with us. You're not alone. Lots of people, myself included have multiples of things because we forgot we had them, or in getting organized we put them away - in a new place and forgot to look there when we needed the item. Couldn't remember if we bought the item or were just thinking about it, and so we bought another (it was on sale anyway.) And then like me, you end up with 4 cheese graters. LOL.

    This video is an absolute gem! I needed this today. I love being organized but I never thought/compared it to shopping at the grocery store before - genius! Hopefully this will click/inspire/encourage every unorganized/disorganized person to get it together and have a place for everything and put everything in its place. I'm among those who were raised to live with an organized mess. However, here's the thing: an "organized mess" is still a mess. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you❤💯

    Hi Angela really enjoying your channel. Just wanted to ask with regards to putting food into containers. Flour, rice, and different rice's. Pasta and loads more. Iust say they nice but surely once they get used I end up with a big jar with only little in. Whereas I just get a riband band round my flour rice etc. I might be wrong. Appreciate your advice Angela

    • @AskAngelaBrown

      If you have the space I still vote for the air-tight container. It will keep weevils, bugs, and rodents out of your food.
