I put one of these fuses on my sailboat diesel starter battery. I of course put it on the positive side of the battery. Apparently, 12 volts would not pass through. Checked the breaker and it is intact. I took it off the battery and the starter immediately fired up the diesel. It is a 60 amp fuse rated for 58 volts. At home, I put the fuse on a test battery and applied a battery charger. Again, no current went through this fuse. What am I doing wrong? It's a good fuse, not burned out. Thanks.
How can I hook these up to a starting battery for my van, won’t fit over the terminal wondering if I could fit it through the bolt that holds onto the terminal?
These are called MRBF's, marine rated battery fuses. Sizes up to 300 amps. 10,000 amp interrupt current. Cheap insurance. I put one on each battery.
