I must admit as a little kid I found this song so depressing. However, as a 45 year old woman and the trials of life come; this song has become very special to me. Grandma Dazzie Lou Woods Bufford, would probably say, "girl I told you to just keep living". 1:28 Thanks Mrs. Opal Shaw., this song is a true testimony. My testimony! S/O to the Saints of Zions Temple #1 and Bethlehem Baptist churches, for instilling life long values in me. All praises to the Most High God.
This was my mother favorite song. She would play this song all day until she felt better. We grew up on this song through very hard times in our lives. We all learned to listen and use this song for strenght. My mother had been dead for almost three years and my sister found it and sent it to us to hellp us remember how our mother loved this song. I can listen to this song for hours and never get tired of listening to it.
Mrs. Lula Collins was a friend of my mother. She use to come by our house and gave us one of her albums. We played it daily, and I remember as a child how a overwhelming tangible peace would be in our house when my mother played her music. Around 1989, remember going to the Dorothy Music Center in Memphis and seeing Mrs. Lula Collins sing in person,
I've been looking for this forever. It seems like yesterday when i was a child and I couldnt understand why people would react to this song the way they did. But now as a 41 year old man Iunderstand completely.
She sung this yesterday at Union Hill for my aunts funeral.. I’ve heard her on the radio a lot being that I grew up in Whiteville. I never heard her sing in person until yesterday.. she sounds 100x’s better in person than a recording and I mean that in the best way possible. I could literally feel the words as she sang them!! This lady is anointed!!!
Francis Jean Johnson Williams my beautiful smart sweet woman used to sing that song soooooooo with her soul the whole church would cry, she had a beautiful voice, I sang at 11 and she gave me sooo much confidence I miss her so very much ♥ 🙏🏾 I'm learning it to sing invher honor at church ♥ 🙏🏾
My mom love this song and after my mom passed away May 25,20 I was playing this song and I felt the spirit and I thought about when me and my mom were listening to it when she was going thru I would play this song for her and she would go fast asleep and now I listen to this song and I sleep well thank God for the Shaw singer
This is Opal Shaw of the Shaw Singer’s I truly appreciate all of the good words from each of you!!!! But grateful to God for all he has done for me in my ministry in songs you have made tears come from my eyes!! I have to sing it to myself sometimes!’ Love you all and my prayers are with you. Opal.
Love , love , love this songs...cant stop the flow of tears...so powerful and anointed and someone is truly playing that panio. The beat is just heavenly. This is true gospel...so inspirational.
To whoever posted this video...God bless you. I used to listen to it with my great great grandma on Sunday mornings and nights when her radio gospel programs would come on. Lord, it takes me back when my grandma would be in the kitchen making breakfast. She would make those homemade biscuits and the best tasting coffee ever. I remember waking up to smell of bacon and the fresh scent of coffee coming from the kitchen. She would be in there cooking and she would call us to table and that song would be playing. I miss her dearly. She taught me a great many things. She loved God and Gospel music and it was because of her I was introduced to this song. When I was little, this song stayed with me. I didn't know what the words were but i loved the beat. Boy, do i know what those words mean now since I am grown. This song is just as powerful as it was when it was first released. This song reminds me of those sweet memories of my grandma and it brings me into the presence of God. Life trials can way on ones spirit, but it good to know as Opal said in the song ; we can take our burdens to God and leave them there. Thanks so much for posting this song...i been searching for it for years...now i can play it anytime. Thank you and God bless you always for posting this timeless anointed music. K. Williams
The first time I heard this song sung was at Mount Gilliam MB Church in my hometown, Byhalia, MS 38611. My "Head Start" teacher, Mrs Lizzie Austin, sang it solo on an evening program and tore it up. I almost had a fit and thought I was going to lose control of myself, for real!
Lord! I remember my grandmother sitting in her rocking chair on Sunday morning’s listening to this song as it played on the radio in little old “Uniontown, AL.” She would sit there tapping her feet and hum the words to this song with tears in her eyes as I would put my hand on her shoulder to console her. I didn’t understand it until I got older why she would cry when she hear it until I was old enough, but to GOD be the Glory this is a powerful prayer. I searched for this song for years growing up and I finally found it. Thank you 🙏🏽 and I dedicate it to my Grandmother “Bernice Coleman.” I know you are smiling down from heaven.
I have been looking for this song now for 12 years. I would hear this song all the time on the radio as my mother and rode together in the car, then when my mother died in 2001, I didn't hear it anymore. I have been desperately looking for it. I prayed a many nights after hearing this song for at least 20 years and each prayer was answered. I am so glad I found it. This song gives me so much joy and strength.
This is my favorite Song Of All the Gospel Songs 💛 and it was also my grandma favorite song RIL ROBBIE LEE HUNT and as I'm sitting in the kitchen feeding my grand baby listening to it over and over reminiscing about how I would be at her house and when this song came on she would holla from the back room telling aunt Queen to turn it up ( that's my song) 😢😢😢😢😢 love you Grannie missing you like crazy

I posted a comment 2 years ago about this song. Let me reiterate, this song is All That to me. The Lord is my EVERYTHING. If I had ten thousand tongues I couldn't thank him enough for bringing me through so much. I give Him the ultimate praise always. Thank you Father for you know all about me and you're still keeping me.
Thank you so much for posting this...these are my relatives but after leaving Tennessee, I lost contact. I’ve also lost most of my saved music through moving and this has been a life saver!
Oh My Goodness, It's so good to hear this song! : ) I liked this song as a younger person and I'm still enjoying it. This is great and I had to fav it. She says I find myself telling The LORD, Thank You JESUS and that's the way it is for me too. It's so good to be able to call on someone that will listen. A Company Keeper in the lonely hour, someone you know who has brought you from a mighty long way and I make no mistake about it, HIS Name is JESUS. Thank You JESUS. Good Music, good post. : )
