Magician of music the great AR Rahman Sir, so beautifully and perfectly he use and every musical instrument in his songs. Undoubtedly he is a living legend in true sense. Feel proud to have gem like him in our country. Jai Ho
This is the magic Indian musicians can produce. real fusion with great precision. Coke Studio pakistan invented this wonderful platform where musical geniuses collaborate in the language of music. But they were becoming stagnant with Sufi/hindustani/qawwali compositions which even though good are now sounding very redundant. I think its time Indian musicians take CS forward as we have much much more diverse music to take it to the next level, like Carnatic music, Lavani, those from the North east and much much more. if only our legendary classical singers can get a little more flexible and open to such collaborative music, I think heads all over the world will turn to "real" Indian music instead of boring bollywood club-music
Listen to Saari Raat (by Noori), Garaj Baras (Ali Azmat and Rahat Fateh Ali) and Mahi Ve (by Josh), your perception about CS Pak will chang and also CS India is amazing!
Dude, I am not belittling CS Pak in any way. CS Pak is great. In India we have been listening only to CS Pak because CS India came many years later. CS India started very poorly, but once ARR and others came on board, I am feeling it is more wider in music genres. CS Pak has limitations like it doesnt have North Eastern, or Southern Indian music. The only issue is that CS India needs to bring the best from these genres and for that they need a superman like Rohail.
A fantastic performance recorded in the studio which is very very beautiful (a paradise on earth). I am proud of A.R.Rahman, Prasanna, Sivamani(all the three are innovative and creative) who all hail from Chennai like me. Chennai indeed is a seat of learning for musicians. True brother
The way ARR gives jazz touch to this masterpiece is just amazing. All the gurus under the single roof of Coke studios is awesome to see. may the soul of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa be in great peace.☮️ ❤❤
Original. Not slaves to playlists. This is creation from scratch and not just picking up an old punjabi/sufi folk song and remixing it with electronic music, guitars, added with a pinch of some old quotes from a popular sufi saint/shayar.... if u understand what I mean. COKE STUDIO INDIA rocks!!!!
For the first time, this song started playing in the background as I was working. I intense simplicity of the song and the in-depth voice forced me to stop working as a shiver passed. One of the best compositions from Coke Studio.
Salam from Indonesia.... One of The Best Arrangement from AR Rahman .... LOVE IT
How soothing it is to ears when the music was at it's extreme best with all instruments playing around and slowly Ar rahman sir calms it down with his keyboard, given the blissful finishing touch.

I've been asking myself the same question over and over again
asengba makni
ARR brought 3 generations of his Guru Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan on a stage. What a great composition!
This is beyond what synchrony can define, their voices so different from each other.. yet merging into oneness is surreal.
It's synchronicity
Emam Ali we love CS Pak!

4:06 - 4:14 I always find myself rewinding to this specific part again and again every time I listen to this song.
I am proud to have been born there. I also could learn some carnatic and western music.
Rest in Peace Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan🙏
In sabke ustaad.. Jo old man h.. Ustad gulaam mustfa khan h.. Jo mere chhote se district budaun up se hain.. I proud of him

That guitarist is one of the top and innovative guitarists to come out of this country. He's famous playing Carnatic Music on his Electric Guitar which is an extremely tough task. Not only that he's quite accomplished in jazz as well. Has been lauded by the likes of Guthrie Govanl. Has a degree with the highest of grades from Berklee College of Music in get this, Classical Composition and Jazz Composition. He's the one who wrote the String Arrangements for the Soundtrack of Lagaan. Based in New York now, he also comes down to South to record and do classical, fusion concerts. And has scored for some South Indian movies as well. And lastly, he was the joint founder of Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music - one of India's leading Music Schools for Contemporary Music. Ladies and Gentlemen, his name is Prasanna Ramaswamy.
And the guitarist is popularly known as "Guitar Prasanna". He is just not a musician. He is an IITian.
He is the pioneers who put Carnatic Music on Wester Musical instruments like GUITAR. Oh boy, he is amazing.
Jacky Singh : Your comment speaks a bunch of things. And you gave a clue to judge you. Thanks! Try it on your own now, I will give you a clue. Madras Institute of Technology, Carnatic Music, Tyagaraja, Science of Carnatic Music and IIT.
