'It's a long way to the top if you want to Rock n' Roll'. At least we didn't get great drawn out heroin addictions, and flailing in the mud dramas. Dave Gilmour gave us great music, Roger Waters had great principles. It was a great time to be alive. Thanks Pink Floyd.
That's "One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Eighty-Five".....
what a stupid way to say the year
Roger destroyed my Favorite band with His Ego.
End of story.
Exactly !!! 💯💯💯
It's probably safe to say that Gilmour & Waters don't exchange Xmas & birthday cards - but it took all 5 members - yes Syd is included - for it to be "Pink Floyd" - that was never more clear than in 1987 when Waters released "Radio K.A.O.S." - and the Gilmour-led Floyd released "Momentary Lapse of Reason" - each had some good things - but neither was great - however, had they taken the best ideas from each and worked together again - they might have produced another truly classic PF record - same could be said for the follow-ups - Waters with "Amused to Death" - and PF with "The Division Bell" - both were better efforts than their predecessors - but imagine the best stuff from each - combined into a single, cohesive record ( and that was always Waters job with the lyrics ) - and it could have been another all-time classic ..
1918, lol, he must be thinking of Keith Richard's experiences in 1918...
Rog and Dave aren't mates. We know. Can we just get on with our lives now? 🙄
eff ringo - whose record was it ...
Waters lost me over his insistence on projecting his uber left leaning views on his audiences. Don't remember Gilmour doing that. Love the music but Waters need to keep his views muted.
Freedom of speech is allowed still atm. One day maybe not!
He’d tell us “F___ off and go to the bar!” Amazing how much money we can save by not going to his concerts!
Dim
I'm shocked that Ringo couldn't handle David's pursuit of perfection. Isn't that the way it was with Paul McCartney. Let's be real, Ringo is a good drummer but, he was never on the same level as the rest of the Beatles or David Gilmour.
If you still listening to Pink Floyd by now, you should be listening to 'We are only in it for the money', from Frank Zappa !
Gilmours “jealosy”? You gotta be kidding! Waters dis everything he could to destroy PF and treated the others like crap. That being said, love the music with him more than without.
Most good bands have differences. that's what makes them great. Look at Cream or even the Beatles. They had arguments and differences. You need heat and pressure to make a diamond.
no real SHOCK to see or hear there. PF lost a lot of quality when Roger left, IMHO. You either liked Mr. "Snake Eyes" (David) or you didn't.
Не всё так прямолинейно. После ухода Уотерса группа вернулась к уровню и эстетике Atom Heart Mother и Meddle. Эти альбомы гораздо ближе к The Division Bell и The Endless River, чем к The Final Cut. Кроме того, взамен уходу Роджера вернулся Ричард Райт.
