Prevue Channel listings montage (1993 music)

- After the 1993 Prevue Channel listings music ("Opening Act" by James & Aster) was finally released, I created a custom video with the Prevue listings that I could use it in. The source videos are from early 1994 since I couldn't find enough 1993 Prevue videos containing parts that I wanted. But, the guide itself has the 'Prevue Guide' logo, which Prevue officially stopped using in 1993. I then took parts from all of the videos where the music would play and edited them together.
I slowed the music down a little because most 1993 Prevue videos have it playing at that speed. I looped the song the same way Prevue did when they used it, mainly so it would show all of the listings at least once.
Special thanks to Nostalgia401 for the source videos, PrevueChannelMusic for the music at the end ("Extraterrestrial TeenyBopper" from Killer Tracks), and SuperAdventures for the 1993 music AND for creating the videos that gave me the idea for this one!
I love this music! I used to watch the Prevue Channel back in the day just to hear this, and watch the listings go by. I was disappointed that they removed this song by the time 1994 came around. Thanks for sharing! 😃

And then of course towards the end when this theme goes up a whole note with the drums hitting. LITERALLY sent all the feels through the roof of the old living room of the grey house I grew up in on Brentwood Street on 94th & Wadsworth in Westminster, Colorado.
I recall back in the spring of 1993 hearing this theme on the prevue channel guide and i must say i missed hearing it again and im glad that its on youtube.thank you

i get loads of nostalgia by watching this! i remember my family would this channel on just for background noise. this song just brings me back when i was 8.
I always left this on while listening to my scanner in Jersey.
They played this theme in the prevue break back in mid 1993 when they would show cable networks and what channel numbers we could find them, I'm not gonna lie, when I first heard this theme, it scared the bejesus out of me 'cause I was so used to the old Prevue Guide theme. This next theme literally gave me chills to where I felt like I felt something creeping up my spine!
ages 13 on I recall depending on this pretty damn often. And of course it comes as a flash back surprise.
I’ll watch the prevue channel when there was nothing else on during dinner time. Great memories.

In fact, the channel was originally called the Prevue Guide Channel, until it was shortened to Prevue Guide in '88 or '89 and then Prevue Channel in '93.

I actually don't remember seeing this prevue channel in 1994. Actually in 1994, I saw the TV Guide Channel first then the 1998 version of the prevue channel later.
Those are atlanta and Chattanooga stations.
I know what I saw. In 1994 - 1995 (well in my town) I saw the logo "TV Guide Channel"

And then of course you add the saxophone part in this theme which is called "Opening Act" if you go to Prevue Music's UA-cam channel. The sax part just literally hit me in all the soul feelings if you know what I mean. LOLOL

Well, there was in around '94 a channel called TV Guide On Screen, although it obviously wasn't the same as the Prevue Channel at all.
To DrClawMadProducer - Nickelodeon was channel 41, BET was channel 44, and MTV was channel 61 at the time, as you see in the video.
I remember in NY Disney was ch 21 when i was younger
For me.. Nickelodeon was always 44. BET was 49. MTV was 38. USA Network was 37 and then changed to 54 later on. Lol I'm from the suburbs of Chicago.

a lot of us refereed to it as "prevue guide channel" a lot of times. well, at least we did.
What channels were BET, MTV and Nickalodeon on back then?
BET was on 44, Nick was on 41 and MTV was on 61.

We originally had EPG until 1992 or so. They ran a local radio station for the audio. I hated The Prevue Channel music until this

When did Prevue Channel introduced new graphics?
Either sometime in the summer or fall of 1993, if I'm not mistaken
They started this graphics in March 1993 then changed in 1996, then by February 1999 Preview Channel changed to TV Guide channel
in 1996, Prevue Channel became Time Warner Cable of New York City.
