I think it's supposed to hit long island in the GFS or European model regardless like ofc the European model in my opinion has been more correct in recent years than the GFS but the European model shows less direct hit and I'm hoping that's the case we should all know by tomorrow who will get hit where that's when they're gonna solidify the tracks. Have somewhere to go if you can before it hits maybe you can take the train into new york for the day if it's gonna get really bad

I'm always the most informed about current tropical storms just from these videos. My friends are astonished at my level of knowledge... little do they know lol

I love learning about this stuff. I live on the waterfront in Connecticut so I'm watching Henri very closely. Thank you so much for an informative video.

And also one thing to keep in mind is as this goes further North the wind field is going to significantly expand.

Isn't it technically worst to get hit with the east side of a storm versus the west? Someone on my weather team local said something about that but I didn't catch it earlier. :( I just hope the power doesn't go out I'm very sick last time we had a 90 min tropical storm no power 4 days. It was horrific.

Winds rotate counterclockwise around the hurricane, so the east side will have wind moving onshore. NE quadrant is also typically where most tornadoes occur.

FYI there is a state in southern New England with over a million residents called Rhode Island. There is a good chance of Henri making landfall there. Thanks

Kinda excited for it we in RI don't get hurricanes very often I'm just hoping it's a great observation storm with minimal damage

FYI, there's a good chance the PhD in meteorology is concentrated on this "Imagine a rotating sphere that is 8,000 miles in diameter, with a bumpy surface, surrounded by a 25-mile-deep mixture of different gases whose concentrations vary both spatially and over time, and heated, along with its surrounding gases, by a nuclear reactor 93 million miles away. Imagine also that this sphere is revolving around the nuclear reactor and that some locations are heated more during parts of the revolution. And imagine that this mixture of gases receives continually inputs from the surface below, generally calmly but sometimes through violent and highly localized injections. Then, imagine that after watching the gaseous mixture you are expected to predict its state at one location on the sphere one, two, or more days into the future.” while briefing on this very fact, live, with no editing mistakenly forgot to point out the smallest state in the union...thanks.
