Hear someone say "a band is truly good when it sounds better live than in studio" and Nightwish is the best example they sound 10 times better live!!!!! My favorite band ever
Stratele, imagine; Marco having the most powerful, the worlds best metal front women, being his backing vocal. No ego at all. What a once in a lifetime band!
Now that Marko has left I'm so happy that these 2015 concerts (Wembley and Tampere) were put onto film - so we can enjoy gems like this and "The Islander" for evermore. Well spotted on the E-bow. You'll see him with that again in an epic song later in the show.
@@zvolencan1 I prefer the Tampere version but it's very marginal for me. I also love the fact that some different instrumentation is used so they each have their own identity.
@@flavio_spqr I'd suggest picking highlights from other gigs such as HIGH HOPES and PHANTOM from EOAE. and DEAD BOYS POEM, DEVIL AND THE DEEP..... from BA - makes viewing more interesting
This wasn’t actually a real Nightwish song. Tuomas was commissioned to write a song for a Finnish film, “Lieksa!” (The Matriarch), He had Marko help out with writing it and singing the vocals. Jukka did play drums, but Emppu and Anette did not participate. It did not appear on an album originally, but was included as the b-side to Amaranth, from Dark Passion play. It has been released on some subsequent albums. This version with Floor singing back-up and Troy playing guitar with e-bow in place of original violin, is the best version. “Is there anything this guy can’t play?” Yes, in his own words, “hockey.”
Hey Jeff, Good timing on this song with Valentine's Day yesterday. It's not an official Nightwish song, it was written by Tuomas and Marko for the 2007 Finnish movie, Lieksa (The Matriarch). Jukka joined them on drums for the recording. The music video has actors from the movie along with Tuomas and marko. Floor's backing vocals and Troy's guitar with EBOW are additions to the studio version. To put Marko's opening comments in context, this was in London ,not long after the Paris night club bombings. I think that is why this song was added to the setlist. Did you notice Floor sitting on the front of the drum riser in the beginning, giving Marko the full spotlight. And if you're wondering, Troy plays PRS guitars. Yes, Emppu is offstage for this song.
Good timing, what with Valentine's Day yesterday. When asked what he couldn't play, Troy once infamously answered, "ice hockey"! There's more Troy versatility to come as the concert continues. Nice reaction, as always. Edit: There's a similar set-up with Emppu absent on another Marko-led song, "The Islander", performed at Tampere as part of the same tour, only for that song it's Marko on guitar!
Those of us that have tried to make an ebow sound that good know that Troy has mastered it because it ain’t easy. I have a PRS also but I have never made it sound that beautiful with an ebow 😂
Another great reaction Jeff - thanks. You're going to have a wild ride with this concert! - then you've got to do the Tampere show for some unique stuff that you won't see elsewhere. Keep it going!
Yeah, a lot of people don’t get the meaning of what they mean by while your lips are still red meaning wow there’s still life in your body really cool the way they do that
Yeah, I’ve got that Wembley show on a double CD WDVD I just had to have it that way as well because people can say all well. We can get a digital and all that but if we were to have a major hack or cyber attack you wouldn’t be able to watch that shit but I still could.
Another great reaction! My favorite song that Marko sings with Nightwish. I love how beautiful and poetic the lyrics are. Such a tribute to innocent young love and Marko's voice is so vulnerable here, perfectly evoking the emotions of the song. Add in Floor's heartfelt harmonies and this just hit s me in the feels every time. Brings me back to my days as a young man heading out on a Friday night eagerly anticipating meeting that perfect girl to fall in love with.
This very beautiful little song was made for a Finnish movie "Lieksa!" (Pölönen, 2007). This Wembley arena 2015 live performance is excellent. As you noticed, Troy used the E-bow device to create the string sounds of the original. Very well done, indeed.
Very enjoyable. Every concerts not fully the same Tuomas throwing in the odd different song to keep it interesting but at the same time the small differences when the same song is performed. We should call it a concert review. Thank you
Hauntingly beautiful harmonies from Marko and Floor, backed up skillfully by Troy on the ebow. Totally agree about the realxed, soothing vibe, much in the same vein as Sleeping Sun. Both songs just wash over you. And, like Sleeping Sun, this is too short! ;-)
I think the first song that I heard an e-bow on and knew what it was would be "Take It Back" by Pink Floyd. It was such an unusual sound even for Floyd that I had to know what it was, but tracking down the information wasn't easy in those days when the internet was still on the near horizon. I never had the chance to use an e-bow until I ordered one. I mainly play bass and I love pedals, so running an e-bow on my bass while using a flanger and overdrive and slowly rocking my wah back and forth is a great sound. It makes me wish I was better at composition.
l love marko's voice with its high tenor sound his beard be epic too he looks like a viking l also loved him and tarja doin phantom of the opera and troy's guitsr solo be sweet along with tuomas on keyboards
Thanks, Jeff! Great reaction! This song sets the ebb in the set you referred to. It'll happen slowly, but the multi-song tsunami is coming! It'll be fun riding the wave with you.
I've heard of the Sustainiac pickup but never really looked into what it actually is. Have you heard of what I think is called infinite sustain? I know Edge from U2 used a guitar with a prototype infinite sustain setup on "With or Without You," but I don't claim to fully understand how it works.
It's been said many times before Jeff, but I'll repeat it again - you must be doing something right if you have Ms Floor Jansen on BV's!! 😆 Take good care of yourself 😃
Troy was asked in an interview if there was anything he couldn't play as well as he'd like. His response was, "ice hockey."
Troy must be really funny guy to tour with 😄👍🏻
Hear someone say "a band is truly good when it sounds better live than in studio" and Nightwish is the best example they sound 10 times better live!!!!! My favorite band ever
I have to agree with that!
The sound from Troys guitar was beyond beautiful!
The sound Troy gets from his guitar with the E-bow is just fantastic. The song gets even better with that then the original version
Stratele, imagine; Marco having the most powerful, the worlds best metal front women, being his backing vocal. No ego at all. What a once in a lifetime band!
Love it! 😃
This is an absolutely beautiful song. Everyone played their part perfectly.
Except for Empuu...would have loved for him to play on this aswell. Perhaps he needed a toilet break...
😄
Remember to kiss your pet Martian.
I can never understand what he said. I was thinking pet Marten (a type of weasel.) But Martian is funnier.
Now that Marko has left I'm so happy that these 2015 concerts (Wembley and Tampere) were put onto film - so we can enjoy gems like this and "The Islander" for evermore.
Well spotted on the E-bow. You'll see him with that again in an epic song later in the show.
As much as I love this concert, I still would like him to switch for Tampere for the Greatest Show on Earth.
@@zvolencan1 I prefer the Tampere version but it's very marginal for me. I also love the fact that some different instrumentation is used so they each have their own identity.
@@zvolencan1 I'm with you, but I think (I hope) Jeff will go to Tampere after Wembley.

The soundtrack for the movie “Lieksa” 🤟
This is our wedding song
Thank you SIR!🙂👌
Thank you!

Bombings? Wasn't it a shooting or was that a separate incident?
Wonderful song ! Greetings from Sweden
here you see again how exceptional these artists are, always busy with their craft to please us,🤟🏻🤟🏻🎶🎶
marko has a very talented backround singer.
Hahaha yes he does!
How elegantly executed. So smooth and artistic.

Ah man that last comment got me ☺️

Hi, very beautiful reaction

I love this song! I am a little behind you on the complete Wembley...but I am going to end up watching your complete reaction to the complete concert.
Good idea!
Love this song and love video clip
Great reaction. Great song. Great band. Thank you.👍

This song is beautiful. The original movie track is really good but hearing Marko sing it live with Floor just adds that little something. 🥰
This was another great reaction to this lovely little tune. Marko was fantastic and Floor was really nice on backing vocals. Loved it.
Thank you Rick! 😊😊😊
Always a pleasure to watch one of your reactions, sir. Lovely song and not many can say they've had Floor singing backing vocals for them.
Thank you! Hahaha right!
Love this song, Marko's vocals are amazing. If you want to check out more of his vocals UA-cam has videos from his band Tarot and Northern Kings.
Beautiful little song with Marko in front 🙂
Beautiful heartfelt song ❤!!!
Nuff Said !!!
NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
Backing singer not to bad !!
😂🤣😂👏👏👏
This was actually a song for a movie obviously not an United States, but it was a movie. I think a finish movie I’m not sure.
When your done here I suggest the Buenos Aries 2018 concert
Sounds good to me!

You have to slow down the show for a couple minutes. You understand completely. Be well Jeff! Loved it.
Yes! Thank you my friend!
Have you seen his version of High Hopes by Pink Floyd cover?
Great reaction Jeff 🤘🔥BTW Troy uses the ebow quite a bit on their "live in a virtual world" performance as well
