This is a great version, Burt Szabo also has a WONDERFUL arrangement. But you're wrong if you think the song is about death. The reason it's a HAPPY song is that it's about the rewards in heaven, life after death. It's a celebration. Doesn't matter what YOU personally believe, that's what the writer was singing about. "Like a bird from prison bars has flown" alludes to the prison of earth, and being given the freedom and rewards in heaven.
