If you already know Jack Antonoff way back when he was still a band member of fun. with Nate Ruess then you know how incredibly proud we are of him. He has come a long waaay. Congrats Jack on your success and more hits to come 🎉
4 minutes into this interview and not only have I seen such an inspiration for awkward people (and possibly autistic mfs like myself) but also, such a cool guy with a blasé external approach to extraneous social situations. I of course know Jacks work as an avid TS fan but have only just truly witnessed his personality and I can quite confidently say I love this man and I would like to be his friend 🖖
It's amazing to feel Jack's energy throughout an interview! I totally get why people want to work with him and why society rewards such products on and on with many artists. Maybe there is not too much need to go with what others want in such level? Like doing it for yourself and then see what will distribute itself in today's content creation era? Also I love Taylor Swift!
I've met Jack twice, and he's such an insanely cool dude. I'm a huge fan of steel train and fun. It's so awesome to watch his career and see what he puts out next.
I love Jack, even present in an interview, you can see the gears turning behind his eyes. I feel like he had at least 3 song ideas while having this conversation 😂
Jack is such a musical genius. Bleachers is my absolute favorite band and every song he works on with other artists are magic. My favorite Taylor Swift songs are all co-written/produced by Jack and BFIAFL is the best 1975 album to date!
If Taylor were there I bet she, Jack and Jimmy would all be composing song lyrics and melodies for this 'Mexico City' song! that'd be so wholesome hahah 🤩
This is so funny because I've finally found someone that talks like I do... He's all over the place and has a hard time getting to the main point of things.. NO ONE ELSE SPEAKS LIKE THAT??? I'm so happy omg
I love that Jack and Taylor create amazing, beautiful music together. Jack talking about pushing bits is amazing. I met him when fun. opened for Paramore in 2009 and I asked him to sign my ticket. He did and all he said was “this ticket looks fake”. Such a genuinely funny person.
I love what he said about the music industry is just whatever people like. When I was a kid, people would make fun of you if you had a particular favourite, or if you didn't, and you had to hide it. Now, even if a random idiot makes fun of you, it just doesn't matter, you can find your own communities where you are accepted and they are just making fools out of themselves. 💚
Yeah it would be nice if it were true but nowadays the music industry tells you what you like. Most upcoming musicians are industry plants designed to fit the preferences you think are your own but really have been instilled in you for the last ten years tirelessly in every piece of media you consume. It’s not about what people like it’s about what they’ve been told to like. lol you really thing artists are more original now than they were back then? That’s just an insane assertion

Cruel summer became popular because its the first full song on the Eras Tour and Taylor requires people to sing the bridge with her, so everyone started buying the song to learn the lyrics. it's not a coincidence.
"Sure, I guess I won producer of the year a couple years in a row, plus a bunch of Grammys with Taylor, and its true I have a new hit band, and I'm doing a lot of stuff, but in reality, a whole shelf full of awards means nothing, I mean, I married this amazing girl and nothing else matters any more. Really, marrying Margeret was and will always be, the greatest achievement of my life" I felt right away that they were going to be a good couple, I'm so happy for them! Stuff like this just confirms it!
This interview was so chaotic and confusing lol. For someone who writes/co-writes amazing songs, he is terrible at articulating himself in interviews 😂 Although Jimmy wasn’t helping at all 😂
He’s quirky, incredibly gifted, and fully artistic. It’s not unusual for that to come through during an interview. It’s why he could never be called average.
But quite honestly, when it is your song almost 30 years later, it comes up like you know, fast car and you just melt. So music is entirely evolutionary. And it’s going to touch on every damn emotion that you have.
Since Taylor is close friends with Jimmy, I could definitely see her taking this and running with it. She’s so famous now that she could easily meme this out and it’d go crazy. Even if it’s bad, it’s still be iconic. Not to mention that she’s already done this once - “I could go driving on my scootah, drive around London.”
