When I was young you could drive over the 11th Street Bridge from downtown and drive straight across to Marine View Drive. So it wasn't a long distance. But in the 90's they closed those connections so you can't drive that directly anymore. The bridge over the Blair Waterway is gone.

The Ruston area is amazing! It has a little bit of that Gig Harbour feel but more small and upscale.
