    Did you ever see those "Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials by the beer brand Dos Equis? You would be such a great candidate if they ever decided to bring that back.
    This is an awesome review. Is there any way that you'd be able to do a chronograph test for this? There are so few tests done with actual hornbows, particularly legitimate Qing designs. It would be such valuable information to have out there. According to Mark C. Elliott in "The Manchu Way" published by Stanford University Press in 2001 (pages 179 & 180) this bow would be approximately a "5 strength bow".
    "…In comparison, the 500 troops at the small Dezhou garrison acquitted themselves with honor, all of them being able to take a five-strength bow [67 pounds], 203 a six-strength [80 pounds], 137 a seven strength [93 pounds], and 85 a ten-strength bow [133 pounds]."
    This bow being an actual military strength bow would be very cool to see speed tests alongside arrow weights if that is something you would be up to.
    I hope you keep making videos, this is a wonderful channel with an awesome vibe.

    Beautiful looking but, why the bow arrived strung?

    • @alantheadventurer
      @alantheadventurer  5 місяців тому +1

      Most of bowers I know suggest keeping their Manchu bows strung all the time. I have one bow from the same bower strung since 2022 didn't loose a pound. And a lighter bow from another bower strung since 2017 🙈

    I use green bamboo my self for arrows to practice and they are much heavier then my 700 grain arrow by a lot they get hard to carry after. A while but fun to shoot

    Do you have a straw makiwara in the room? Did you build it or buy?

    • @alantheadventurer
      @alantheadventurer  5 місяців тому +1

      I bought makiwara and built the frame. It's mobile and easy to handle. Although quite heavy and can handle abuse 😂
