Imagine when boats like this start having solar capabilities and charge while on the water during the day and increasing the usage time by that much more. Amazing!

I want one so bad! It’s gonna look great behind my Cybertruck!

Wow I think this just switched my future buying preference from a Centurion to this new “tesla” wakeboat!
I’m all about the renewable energy- and QUIET boating experience!
Way to go Nautique! Setting the stage for the future!

There's no such thing as renewable energy..once its gone, its gone!

If I can get 3 hours and 1 to charge, that takes care of me on most weekends. We need to get Federal tax incentives similar to EV credits for the boats and to incentivize charging infrastructure on water. Hope someone is already working on this!

Electric wake/surf boat = built in ballast.
old guy buying novelty wake boat:
"but i love the sound of my V8"...
    me:
"i love having conversations, hearing music below 80 db, and not having exhaust in my face surfing"
....lets not even get into the maintenance aspect. No brainer.

Great job Greg and the whole Nautique team! After the Ski Nautique prototype several years ago, it's great to see the end result come to fruition.

Has anyone owned one of these yet? I’m seriously considering buying one that I just found listed. But I noticed they’re not offering them anymore, so I figured there’s a reason why.

Plug it in at the dock and walk away without dealing with gasoline on my hands or going to the marina 😊. No oil changes FTW! Do I not have to winterize it? Silence like a sailboat so I can have a quiet conversation 😃😃. Oh, ... and apparently I’m doing something for the environment, ... whatever that it is. Sign me up!

    • @mikestanley4457

You would have to winterize the ballast tanks

May depend how the electric motor is cooled. If its cooled using the lake water like a traditional engine, you would then have to winterize it. If its a closed cooling system, then probably not.

    Wonderful!
Every few years I check on electric powerboating.
    The progress is excruciatingly slow!

Yes!! I love this! You guys should serious think about adding a larger battery to increase available run time. I’m sure finding room for that on the boat won’t be too difficult. I would like to know the price, length, weight, and motor options with specifications. Great idea! I wish you guys the best.

    • @johnc.9133

Would the extra weight offset the potential runtime from the extra battery capacity? Would be interesting to see a chart on increasing weight vs battery storage and runtime.

Glad to see Nautique leading the 'charge' on EV tow boats! Not surprised really...

Finally, I cant wait for this. You can supercharge it in about 1.5 hours at 80 kW.

Hopefully these start gaining traction but these boats gas or electric are out of hand

I love the concept but only 3 hours on the water till I need to charge again just isn’t enough, when I go out we go out all day long

It’s too bad batteries aren’t easily replaced. Have one charging while using the other one

Its 3 hours of wakeboarding / water skiiing / pulling riders. If you're just going slowly and enjoying the lake / river we're talking about way more range.

Amazing Boat! But for $300K -- it definitely wouldn't change me out of my X26 - Surprised the GS22 was selected as the base boat... At the price, this Should've been a Paragon

    • @Kiltoonie
      @Kiltoonie 4 роки тому +3

Yes, it will work just fine. And this is just the start. My first Nissan Leaf had a range of 80 or so miles, that was 7 years ago. My current Hyundai Kona has a range of 270 miles. Thats today.
In a few years there will be electric cars and electric boats that make petrol and diesel look like coal-fired dinosaurs, but first, we need to invest in the dream and be part of it. Do you want to be part of the dream, or just another sad old sack who missed the boat?

    • @chaddicken8503

@@Kiltoonie bud there's nothing to miss. When the run time increases and makes more sense then gas then id be interested. Not like im going to be put on a list that i wont be able to buy one at that time cause i said thats not gona work for me when i can only get 2 or 3hrs. I weekend boat on large lakes. Im not going to be sitting around trying to find time to charge my boat that cost over a 100k. If i can afford that boat i can afford gas. Ill wait for the technology to improve before I spend a BOAT load to sit and wait on a charge up. Ha. Chill out!

@@chaddicken8503 You are a 'weekend boater' So am I : my boat is nice, so is yours. My range is very good: actually, as long as I go slowly...
But hang on, what is the hurry? Isn't it nicer to go slower at weekends, enjoy the peace and quiet, listen to the birds, and know that you aren't fricking up the planet through your own greed and selfishness?

The innovation is great but 3 hrs keeps it still in the LAB. Clearly still a few years away from practical.

Not to mention the amount of wiring and likely the amount of paperwork to obtain a dock permit to even install a high voltage line over lake water.
