I get the continue to troll after hook up for 20-30 seconds but trolling to catch the tuna doesn’t make much sense, pulling hooks and extra work....
Find out the drift first thing .. hook up, turn into the hookup for a bit, continue to the drift heading, shut it down and bring it in

Thanks Michael for the feedback. On the first hookup of the day, we could have slowed the boat down a little sooner. We got into a better groove at the end of the day. It’s interesting, on the quad hookup, I counted the total time from the first bite to the final bite on the quad and it was over 45 seconds. We did our best to gauge the size of the fish and try not to slow down if we didn’t need to. Next time we go, we will slow down as long as we don’t get more fish to come up into the spread, get ‘em in and get back to trolling. Thanks Michael!
