Thanks for posting all these videos, Julian. I don't think you realise how much we all appreciate them. You're our first port of call when we want to see how a piece *should* sound!
Julian thanks a ton for d lovely pieces....i am 72 yr old and passionate about Piano playing, so after retirement started playing...cleared first grade with distinction and preparing for grade 2...wish me good luck ...
Thanks Julian, I find your video very helpful. I started piano 4 years ago, at the tender age of 62. Now, at 66, I am in the scaring process of preparing for grade 2. Wish me luck!
Ooh, well done Santachi. I'm so pleased you're finding the videos helpful and perhaps a little motivational. Let us know how you get on in your exam ...and good luck!
Julian, thank you very much for coming up with such high quality, high performance videos. Your playing style is very expressive with a lot of emotions flowing throughout the entire song/piece. I am sure it has helped many talking the Trinity grade 2 exam including myself. Once again, great piece of work indeed. I'm sure there are many blessing you for posting these videos and blessing is what we need the most at the end of the day! Keep up the good work. God bless :)
I'm supposed to play the 2018-2020 syllabus for November but I don't know if they will still have it in my country because of Covid-19. Thanks again for such lovely playing and please continue to record more of their new syllabus for the other grades. Also I was supposed to do their Grade 5 Theory in May but Covid-19 had not too long come into my country so it has been postponed since then......... Don't know when they will have it though.
I am 11 and now doing grade 2 my teacher doesn't say that it is a mistake I would like if you can assure me by the way thankyou a very lot lot for this video helped me a lot
Thanks. Julian. Fun Fair Blues is one of my cup of tea. I love the feeling of blue but what is the characteristic of blue and jazz? I watch some aspect in these but still can’t figure it out.
Ooh, the characteristics of Blues might include swing or syncopated rhythms, established chord patterns and harmony where 7th chords (especially dom 7th) are used. Lots to uncover.
Thanks, Julian. I just start this piece. It do take time for me to manage. By the way, I can't speed up to standard even after sometime. How to made use of waist, forearm or any other method. Thanks again.
Hi Julian thanks so much for this video, appreciate you!! Quick question. For the Minuet in G, don’t we have to repeat those on line 2 & the last line as it’s indicated? Thanks
Hi John, no, we shouldn't play repeats for the exam itself. You may like to look at p.15 of the syllabus drive.google.com/file/d/1HuXFIeWV_wgPfJF99dfxyxgzKnSc5q_o/view?usp=drivesdk
Thanks for the info. I read pg15 where it says to observe repeats if few bars only but not longer ones (which I believe indicates not repeating a whole line) 👍🏽
I love these videos.... they're so systematic and easy to understand....I've learnt piano for quite some time so I'm thinking of giving exams and figuring out what grade I should give....I had a question though....at the end of the piece "fun fair blues" what chord is that on the last bar? It sounds like a jazz chord!
Hi Julian, great videos. I have a couple of questions. One, i think i could handle those pieces, im playing bartok 24 from mikrokosmos 1, and czerny 599 number 13. Which grade do you recommend. And second the extended edition book if its worthy or it depends which pieces i prefer? Thanks, and greets from Argentina!
You'll find playlist for the various grades on my UA-cam channel. You need to find the level that challenges you. The pieces ought not be playable after 30 mins work.
Hi PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP?I am looking to see which pieces are the 2021 alternatives as all there is on the syllabus is a complete list of 2018 and 2021. My student would like alternatives for 2021. But thank you for the helpful videos!

Sir tempo setting for canzonet and mazurka pls

Did you find anything out about the C/C# in bar 11 of Canzonet? Didn't see anything in the description
Ooh, thanks for the nudge. No, nothing yet ...
@Gary Preston Thank you!!
Great video - thanks! Regarding the two pieces you played with backing tracks: would these pieces be performed with these backing tracks in the exam?
No, I'm afraid not, the backing tracks are just for practice ...and for fun!

Can we get pdf of this 12exercise plz.. Because it cost
I cannot try the MINUET IN G it was very hard
Hello, excellent material. Wich exams you recommend are the best between: ABRSM, Trinity, RCM, MTB? I am from Mexico.
There's no 'best', I wouldn't worry too much about which route you take, ultimately, they all lead to the same place, step by step! Enjoy the journey!
Can someone please tell me what I should be doing about the mistake in canzonet and if I should play it c natural or c sharp during exam
C sharp, there's a note in the description below the video.
Do elise too
Please give in the discription about canzonet 😀
Ooh yes, thanks for reminding me. I've added a note in the description.
Thanks
I wanna do Island in the sun but idk who to play with. No one in my family plays piano

for Minuet in G , do we skip 8 and 29 completely or do we need to play them and then go to the following bars?
Omit bars 8 & 29, exactly as I show in the video.
