I know. It drives me crazy when parents, onscreen or off, say that. How about doing what is RIGHT? Marie even says in one episode that if we all did what makes us happy, this world would be a terrible place - one of very few times I agree with her.
Debra was awful in this episode. Yes she wanted to get rid of Marie, but she overdid it with Ally. Yes it’s good that Ally learns housekeeping duties as well as babysit her brothers (as an eldest sibling myself I wanted that power trip as well) it takes pressure off Debra because Ray sure as hell won’t help. But also have to remember that Ally is still a kid and needs to have a life.

@@KJ-sr4tt ha ha Good point. Ray said in the early intros "these are the kids. But it's not about them." I'm guessing he didn't want the kids to overshadow the adults like in Home Alone or Family Matters. But damn man, at least pick some kids with a pulse.
@davidsroom260 To be fair, Ray Romano had the acting talent of a plank at the beginning of the series. He got slightly better as the series progressed. Maybe if they gave the kids a bit more action in the show, they would have shown more personality as well.
I wished debra gave marie an ultimatum. If she didnt babysit she losses the right to ever babysit again. Or a gamble pretend shell still go to the movies giving her no option but to stay. The worse she could do is talk bad about debra but that was going to always be the case. It could work
The absolute WORST advice a parent should give their preteen kid is “ you should do what makes you happy “.
Seriously, the family and the collective happiness comes first, nobody likes a boat rocker
🎯 that’s how falling into the wrong crowd and peer pressure starts

Frank is good at this

Hopping scotch. 😂
Marie: Ally learned how to cook and clean against all odds.
Marie: oh i love to, but i cant at 4:40 LOL
Frank is a good negotiator.
Frank, the union leader.
frank would be the perfect union leader! lol
😂😂
You shouldn't tell a child they should only do what makes them happy. Horrible advice.
Yep. That’s how getting sucked into the wrong crowd starts

1:13 This episode aired in what, the early 2000s? Rainbows had been a Lucky Charms marshmallow since the 1990s.
I know they're crazy, but Frank and Marie were good grandparents
Terrible parents, wonderful grandparents.
I think Maria tries to set up Debra to fail when she has the chance
😂😂😂😂😂 Ray’s an echo (What Ally wants)
They could not have chosen kids with less personality than the actors they chose for the Barrone children. I've seen extras with more pizazz.
Right! It's like, are you in this scene or what? They just stare into space until their next line

The Ally actress is halfway decent (she's certainly no Shirley Temple!), but her brothers were sh*t

@@MegaThucydides Those boys were as wooden as can be.
I want Frank as my union steward
& even if you could, i don't think you want frank babysitting
You know i never notice but Ray and Debra are awful parents
Воронины в тысячу раз смешнее.
