I love tall buildings, and admire them being built - but I would honestly feel a little "nerved out" living extremely high off of the ground like that. I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the crane operator and all of the iron workers that are up there constructing that - "absolute" nerves of steel.
I don't think it's ugly, it ain't the Chrysler Building, but it's not ugly.......I just wouldn't be adventurous enough to want to live a quarter mile off the ground......a building maybe 25 -30 stories, that's the same height as the others, but not one that tall
I'm SO JEALOUS!!!!! I'm a born and Torontonian, if any of you are familiar with my city, you'll know 2 things. First, that you're the only city ahead of us in the number of skyscrapers in north America (yeh, we have even more then Chicago), and secondly, we also have the highest number of skyscraper proposals/approved/under construction in North America, but I doubt we'll ever catch up to you, no fair!! Then again, NYC is much older, and has been building skyscrapers almost a century longer then we have, but I'm amazed at the projects you have going up, especially the supertalls (aka anything over 300 metres tall). Believe it or not, despite it being relatively close, I've never been there, but will this summer, and I can't wait. I'm a bonafide skyscraper fanatic, and your city is a paradise for me! I say I'm jealous because of the system we have here in regards to building. It's a long, dragged out nightmare of paperwork, revisions, and height reductions, and it really pisses me off. I'd die too see all those supertalls you have , here, but our idiot city council hasn't a clue, and keep trying to keep everything under 300 metres, except for our landmark, the CN Tower. We currently have 6 proposals over 300 metres in the works, but I guarantee you the city council will force the developers to reduce the height for fear of casting shadows...WTF is that all about? It's a big city, we're suppose to build tall, if they want sun, move to the burbs where the belong, AND, even once approved, they're not allowed to being construction until at least 60% of the building is sold. It frustrates the hell out of me, think I'll move to your city instead, they at least aren't afraid to go tall!
Toronto is nothing more than a wannabe New York. You don't have the charm of Paris, the influence of London, the history of Rome etc. There's more to cities than just skyscrapers; Toronto is a lifeless, depressing concrete prison.
I like this building . I think its distinct . Sort of like a pseudo ultramodern brutalist architecture for 21st century ?!! Also kudos to whoever designed that tower crane goddamn its super strong considering it has risen to like 430 meters the amount of stress its steel took at the lower part seems staggering .
what a tall and narrow building! i am full of curiosity about its struct and how to reduce the shaking of its top floors, some skyscraper as this tall but much wider on horizontal dirction already using weight of dozens of tons movable steel ball on the top to offset the shake
I have to say that I love this building, the minimalist simplicity contrasts the city at large. I think if the city were to simply produce homogenous buildings they would be as dull and uninteresting as the dozens of identical blocks of social housing projects of the 20th century.
I love tall buildings and living in a very high floor is one of my dreams but, being from a seismic country, it is also one of my biggest fears hehe... Great video, I’m always amazed on how these great structures are built.
If you look at about 1:50 in the bottom left it looks like they've built a bridge from the building to the skyscraper. I'm guessing they did that a few times as they went up and used the construction elevators to bring up the tower crane operators near to the top.
Nope they are there to secure the crane to the building as the crane gets bigger so it doesn’t fall in its own weight. But construction workers probably cross it as a shortcut.
It has a tuned mass damper that takes up the top floors. It's pretty much a big weight, it weighs tons, and it pulls the building towards the ground which gives the structure more strength against wind and swaying.
Interesting that this monument to wealth inequality has turned into a lemon. TONS of tech and structural issues for the billionaires in this building. 😁
boring architecture it could have had at least a twist like the chicago spire or the Shanghai tower instead but I love NEW YORK better than any city in the world even my home city of Hong kong And greetings from Hong Kong to New york
a New York chimney if it was not so tall and did not spoil the look of the city, that would be nice, but that a slim and yet too high "chimney" comes out of it, so it's really ugly! ;(
@@r62aguy85 Stop trying this, you Trump supporter. Trump destroyed this beautiful country. He is bringing us as close to World War 3 as a war enthusiast.

This was me at six playing Lego
Whatever those crane drivers are paid, it's not enough!
Love the building, it looks amazing, especially in person.
Amazing timelapse of a truly remarkable building in an awesome city.
every time lapse of a building construction, the cranes look like they're having a seizure
omg so true
Right after I read this I saw a crane just moving back and forth. 😂😂😂
Yep

It was tied to the wall so it wont fall

this is mind-boggling
Something about this building is so unsettling
Maybe it’s width to height ratio 1:15
There must be some outstanding views of Phillip Johnson's post modern masterpiece. Of course, one must enjoy chippendale in the first place.

I was paying too much attention to the other office buildings.
I don't understand your comment. 432 Park Avenue is a residential building and not an "other office building".

Did u know that building is same height as old wtc??
Just a little over, 432 park avenue is about 8 or 9 metres taller than the old wtc, but still pretty much the same.
It will be brought down onto 575, 590 and trump Tower
this is my fav building in ny
I wonder how it can resist the power of wind.

It has floors where the wind passes through to reduce the swaying. It only sways a tiny amount because of that

Ok.. the first question is.. Is it airplane proof?!
Not for jumbo jets. Almost no building on Earth can withstand a direct impact from a fully-loaded Boeing 767 at 500 MPH.
how cost that us buy for that building?
Brent Fuding Fuding less than the english class for you
