    Looks like I may not be getting a masterspas after all. Found out today they lied to me about having it in stock to ship, didn’t call me or anything and I’m prob gonna have to get with my credit card company and do a chargeback. Why they allow a company so far away to get a monopoly on a market to screw people I don’t know. Guess I should have just went for the Clearwater unit since atleast it’s a local dealer that doesn’t ignore the calls after the sale. Would be nice if you made a list of good dealers for people to use for the other brands.

      That sucks man :-(
      It's a super crazy time, the hot tub industry is undergoing a massive increase in business. I estimate the industry is up 300-400% over a normal year. I think peeps are seeing their account balances rising with less spending and all the money saved for vacations and travel are going into their properties.
      Most dealers are running off 30-60 days right now and stock listed change by the hour.
      let me know what other brands you want and I'll find you a good local option.
      Hit my buyers service up, it's popular because it is amazing.. you get someone to sort through all the bullshit and buy you a good tub at a good price and if I don't save you at least me fee ill give yer money back... :-)

      Chris Wheatley they told me they may have found me a espresso and silver unit. It doesn’t have a circ pump but they are giving me money off for the pump plus $200. Guess I’ll call tomorrow and see if it’s actually gonna come thru or not. They should know a eta than. And sadly we don’t have any local options really. Bullfrog and Clearwater are our premier brands lol. The finance rate they gave me is what kept me trying. Can’t beat 10yr 5.9% really.

    • @ChrisWheatley
      @ChrisWheatley  4 роки тому

      @@radzer0966 Edward finance is not really 5.9% they just bought your rate down and added it to the cost of your hot tub, financing is all bullshit, yer really paying the same on almost every finance deal you ever see... If I want to run a promotion and offer 3.5% financing I pay the finance company upfront same with no interest for 3 or 6 months... you always pay the same man either with the normal rate or it's hidden in the price but its always the same unless you use a secured line of credit...

    • @radzer0966
      @radzer0966 4 роки тому

      Chris Wheatley price on the tub is one of the cheapest I came across too. I know how the special financing stuff works and the place selling just pays a set percentage of the total to lower the rate. I think when I was digging around I saw somewhere the plan I’m getting is charging them 1.75% of the total. The closer dealer that couldn’t sell to me is $4000 more.

    Why do they spray chopped fiberglass instead of laying fiberglass cloth? Wouldn’t cloth be stronger?

    • @ChrisWheatley
      @ChrisWheatley  5 років тому

      The cloth would be way stronger but way more expensive... Chopped glass is ok if it is hand-rolled and they build up enough layers. The only guy I know that actually uses roving (the full cloth) is PDC and they use it on the bottom for added strength, the arguably build the best shell out there right now...

    I see that you are a dealer for Nordic Spas.. .I'm looking at a moderately priced spa so either a high-end used one or a nordic type new one. I would love to see a video or your comments comparing those choices - how does that plastic nordic uses compare to acrylic? They have a lifetime guarantee on the shell - but it does seem flimsy ad easily scratched. I'm also worried about the leaching of plastics into what I'm bathing in. Any thoughts? we have young kids who use the spa a lot - so it needs to be tough and also we live in a cold climate so I want something that can handle extreme heat and cold and fluctuations. :)

      Hi Gabrielle
      I did pull in a container of them last season and at the time they were the best-rotomolded spa on the market, the only thing I did not like was the insulation package. which consisted of a bit of foam on the shell and then a fibrous blanket around the perimeter. The good side is that they used all the right parts, built to a high standard and glued and clamped the joints.
      This year master put out a rotationally moulded spa called Getaway Hot Tubs which really changed the game, having a big player enter this end of the market is fantastic, its got all the right gear and manufacturing techniques and it has the full foam insulation system. up until now with very few exceptions this end of the industry is littered with cheap junk...
      You would be served well with either of these spas, they last and are great spas for the money. The plastic shells are a high grade and almost indestructible, the acrylic shells (which are also a type of plastic) actually can be damaged more easily and scratched more easily... the only downside to the rotationally moulded shells used to be the look but the new colours look great, and are non-slip...

    Looked into master spas today and was directed to the dealer who would supply me. 16hours away. Back and forth with some questions while I was at work and looking at the lsx 700. Read some reviews and such as well on the master tubs. Half the info the sales guy was telling me is directly being said otherwise in official paperwork. Being told it comes in standard trim with a circ motor and it doesn’t. Being told it had 3 water pumps but it also doesn’t. (2 water 1 air). Other bad thing is in the reviews. Every brand will have it’s bad no matter what but this one it feels like 7 out of 10 are directed at that dealer and problems getting warranty work. Love the higher quality parts but being told it has things in it that it doesn’t makes me feel like it’s just a sales push.

    • @ChrisWheatley
      @ChrisWheatley  4 роки тому

      Hmm weird from what I see ... It does not have an air pump, it does come with three water pumps but I think a circ pump is an option.
      I like the main seat a lot, the four 3.5" neck and shoulder jets kill.
      Reviews and ratings are bullshit, Forbes says as much as 70% are fake. retailers and manufacturers stack the good side sometimes even with an army of students paid to blog and rate, competitors stack the bad side.. yelp, BBB, and most fo the others are unreliable at best, downright toxic at worst and they are all pay-to-play...

    • @radzer0966
      @radzer0966 4 роки тому

      Chris Wheatley I thought the same but in the q&a in the page someone asks for the specs on the 3 pumps and they say the newer ones are 2 pumps. A 16a and 12a along with a 3hp pentair power wow pump. 3hp seems small for a regular pump but I can’t find specs on this pentair. Shows balboa but I’m guessing the name has been changed at some point?

      @@radzer0966 Balboa is the heating and control system, they do do pumps as well but pumps are pretty similar across the board. the def do not do air blowers on any models, it has 3 pumps. 6Hp 5Hp 3Hp

      Hi
      Meh, its middle of the road.
      The Shell is not my favorite. They use an ABS backed acrylic, this is an older tech that most guys went away from a decade ago because it simply had a higher failure rate. These shells are not strong enough to support their own weight with water and people so need props and supports under them to keep them from falling apart. they market the pedestal supports as a plus but in my opinion, it's a band-aid approach. I like the eco angle but only if it is good tech... Traditionally the issue with these shells was blistering which is classified as a surface failure Notice the "best warranty in the industry" is only on structure and does not include any surface defects or failures, likely that is around 3 years which is the real warranty of the shell.
      The insulation is simply bad tech. almost all of the northern US states and Canada Issued warnings against these reflective foils in the 80's when it was the big scam in the building industry, no in any regulated industry it's basically banned but in the virtually unregulated hot tub industry, it's now the miracle insulator... This stuff is just cheap low r-value.
      They claim a chemical-free revolutionary new system but there again is nothing new or revolutionary here, ion works well, UV works well, ozone is meh, and magnetic water treatment again was all the rage a decade ago and never really took off because although its good for stopping calcification it did not do much else... The four technologies together would do a reasonable job and then they have a salt system option which again is old tech... Never buy your tub based on the "miracle water treatment" because the bottom line is the easiest to manage the lowest cost healthiest and longest lasting water I have ever seen is the aftermarket stuff you can use on any tub like Spa Marvel or Aquafinesse.
      Performance wise again middle of the road... lots of gimmicks like a pile of pumps but more pumps are not better pump efficiency drops drastically with smaller pumps. also, most of the jets are the cheaper low flow jets and even their top tubs have only a handful of the high end expensive hi flow therapy jets.
      All in all middle of the road certainly not in my top tier of tubs out there.

      @@ChrisWheatley Are you talking about the shell they have been using or the new one that has the metal built into it so that it can self support?

    • @ChrisWheatley
      @ChrisWheatley  4 роки тому

      @@radzer0966 putting steel is a shell does not make it self support it's the same game, instead of Verticle pedestal supports it uses horizontal linear supports, it's still a cheap cut-corner option... The best way to do this is to roll multiple layers of glass by hand until you build a structure strong enough to do the job without extra supports.

      @@ChrisWheatley Can you suggest a brand that is decent that I can get in Louisiana or nearby? master the closest dealer we have is in palm beach and most brands sold around here you dont even mention so I suspect they aren't that great. Bullfrog is here but thats one I dont really like too much. Not to mention our local dealer is list or nothing on all the brands that one place sells. Including some brand when you shut off the pumps with the waterfalls open it diverts and shoots water out them like 30feet while it shuts down (guessing this is garbage, 110 jets for under 8k)

    Just a quick comment, I'm interested in checking out master spas in my area but their dealer locator won't give me any information without giving up all my information eg. phone # email etc. I value my personal information and don't want to give it up just to find a local dealer. Most other manufacturers ask for a zip code and thats all.

    Hello,
    I’m building my own hot tub as a side hobby (I have my own vaccum forming machine that can make a mould....)
    Just making a basic mould as it’s really as a hobby
    I’m absolutely stuck on the fibreglass side of things and have no idea where to go next....
    Any chance of a call for some of your information 😀

      apply a coast of pure vinyl ester resin, then hand roll 3 cots of short strand chopped fiberglass. you tube should have lots of videos on doing glass, but chopped glass needs a gun to do effectively...
