Im here if you need an extra friend. I can't have a bird either, can't afford to take care of one properly and my cats would eat it!
Sometimes just a small thing like watching a video and hearing him saying something hilarious, or being silly turns out to be not a small thing at all.
@mabpixie Another thing that might help are my videos.
But also changing your thoughts what ever thoughts you are having that depress you. Stop thinking the thought and put your thought on things you want things that give you more joy. I think that’s why Gizmo helps. You are thinking of Gizmo and not that thing that causes you depression. It is very easy to change your thought. And you can. This comes from a helpful loving place and knowledge that it works. Hope you feel better soon.

He does touch my soul, how can he be so funny? Humour is high on the intellect scale, but he says things at just the right moment, he must know he's doing it. I know birds repeat words and phrases but always wondered if they could understand what is being said, and hearing Giz say 'You're' Emily?' will forever be my favorite Giz moment. Thanks for sharing how affectionate he is.
African Greys do have a sense of humour. Ours does, as well as Gizmo.

I just love him. He does remind me of an old Grandpa. An Outgoing one. My grandpa didn't say much, because of being in the Vietnam War but, he still had Sass, just like Giz. Thankyou,. I love listening and watching you all. Not in a Creepy way lol 😂🖐️🦋
I came across Gizmo quite by accident one day here on YT. Now he's my daily smile. I share his videos with my friends and at first they're like "Whaaa?" but then they subscribe too.

Love getting my Giz fix, puts the biggest smile on me for the day. 😁 Watching Em and Kyle interact with him is so sweet, such patient and caring parrents. 💕 Throw in the sibling rivalry with Burrd (did I put enough 'r' s in?) and it's the best fun to watch. Way too addictive 😂

This is exactly how things were with me and Sam.
He only knew a man, his Dad. His Dad had to be hospitalized, which is why Sam came to my house.
I have, and have had many birds and folks knew it, so I was the lucky one!
Sam didn't like women because they usually just kept him away or try to maneuver him with a broom.
He was with me for 9 months, and in that time I fell in love.
I always let him make the decision weather he wanted to be touched, and never went after him with a broom, lol, or anything else.
By the time it came for Sam to go home, it was the hardest thing to let him go.
I have no idea where he is now, or how he is doing, and that makes me sad.
SOOooo,,since I've found you Emily, Kyle, and Gizmo, I've been able to hear and see Sam through you guys.
I am always so happy to see your videos.

I love ❤️ Gizmo , his videos just give me a lift when I feel down. I hate knowing he was caged for all that time . I used to keep chickens, and I would always let them out of their coop to have free access to the garden when I got home from work to keep an eye on them. They're only on earth for a short time, they deserve to be given the best lives by their humans .

How did you get him to warm up to you? We adopted a double yellow headed amazon who also lived in a cage without vet care and had a very poor diet for years, no clue exactly how long. We've had her for 2 years and the closest she will get to us is either on the door of her house sitting near me, reaching or rushing to bite us or if we're in the vet's office she will run to us for snuggles. I want more snuggles, how to we get her to that point? Oh she will take almonds from my hand
