"Following a loss of engine power, the Raptor Aircraft Raptor prototype force landed to cornfield terrain near Fairmont, Nebraska. The sole pilot onboard was not injured." Glad your ok
Glad to hear you’re ok Peter. Saw the post landing pic like many on Reddit and I’m sure you have allot on your mind right now but just wanted to say I will be ready for your next video. Cheers Peter, have a beer and let us know what your plans will be. I know you thought about deploying the chute and I can tell you that when I landed on a training flight on Oahu in a sugar cane field after the loss of our engine it wasn’t as soft as we thought it was going to be. It was one heck of a deceleration and then we flipped too! Take care and it’s really nice to hear you are ok.
A pilot from Arkansas walked away after his experimental plane crashed Friday morning in a Nebraska cornfield. Fillmore County Sheriff Bill Burgess said the crash happened around 7 a.m. Burgess said Peter Muller of Clinton, Arkansas told him that his plane lost power while he was trying to fly between Manhattan, Kansas and Grand Island. The plane crashed into a cornfield just north of Highway 6 about four miles west of Fairmont. Burgess said Muller was flying the plane in stages as part of a longer trip from Clinton, Arkansas to Boise, Idaho. He said Fillmore County deputies and Nebraska State troopers found Muller 20-30 minutes after the crash. The pilot was uninjured and there was no property damage other than to the cornfield. Burgess said there was no fire or explosion associated with the crash. The FAA was called in to investigate.
@@deSloleye if you’re into airplanes and don’t know about this program, you’re dull. IMO, peter doesn’t need anymore advertisement; he’s made a video series that pays him to get free advertisement.
@@onethousandtwonortheast8848 that's fine when you're not trying to sell your plane, but Peter IS trying to sell his plane. If you're not spruiking it everywhere you can you're not trying to sell it anywhere. Once Rolls-Royce tried to sell its cars at my home state's Show, an old man asked the guy how much for the two on display. The response was the glib "if you have to ask, you can't afford it". The richest man in the state told the idiot "salesman" that he just wanted to know what number to put on his cheque, and put his chequebook away. Maybe there are some "dull" people out there, but there are 10000 new people in the US every day who know nothing at all. Man oh man so sorry to hear, glad that you are alive and well. Hope the cameras were working down to touchdown. Will be an awesome video that we can learn a heap from!
Is there ANY chance you would resurrect _This_ Raptor? Repair it and continue on your way to getting the motor & redrive working well? I sure wish you would complete this plane!
Heard about this on the news. I'm devastated for you. I'm glad you are okay and I really hope you rebuild and fly again. Loved following your journey and look forward to the next steps you take.
Fabulous looking machine!!! A great view from the porch too. Thanks for sharing! I felt a disturbance in the ether today , checked FR24 and the Raptor was airborne... Spooky.
Won't be these, there's only one, but there are a few similar older designs. If you're US based there is A Long EZ aerobatic group with a yellow plane. Look up the LongEZ and see if it's what you saw.
Uh, fellows…..could we get our minds off the beauty of this thing and focus instead on that flat landing trajectory and dangerously high over the fence speed? Evidently canards are not compatible with flaps so a forced landing is gonna be a nightmare unless the engine quit over the salt flats. Beauty is nice but staying alive also has its attractions.
Mr. Peter I don’t know if you’re a faith man or not but I am. I have followed along on your build from the beginning but want you to know that 2 days ago I got an unction to pray for a hedge of protection over you in the name of Jesus which I did. Now truth be told up until 2 days ago I had not had a unction to pray safety on you before. Today you had your angels with you. God Bless!

I just get part of the new on Airborn. Very happy that he is ok.
Glad you were ok!
Sad to hear about the news but very happy to know that you managed to walk away from it unharmed. Please keep us updated on the development!
Better now to move on to a dramatically lighter weight test production airframe if thats even possible or time to call it.
Vacuum bagging is way lighter than hand lay up as the prototype was done.

Just amazing that you got to fly this amazingly roomy and sexy craft. I hope and pray your next design is as radical and exciting.

Why not take it to Oshkosk? The number of UA-cam aircraft builds debuting there is amazing, the Raptor would be a really popular exhibit.
Can you imagine the bullshit he’d have to endure?

Awesome. Keep going. Onwards and upwards.
Was heartbroken to hear of the crash today, but glad you are OK!
Really, how?
We're actually going transport it directly to Boise where we have what we need.

did I read correctly that this plane just went down?
Early this morning. Peter is fine and commented elsewhere. Sounds like the aircraft is not damaged either.
There is a photo on Kathryn's report.
For 100mph into August corn, it looks surprisingly good.
Great to see the external shots!
She looks rock-solid.
Cool front yard!
Thank you Peter... We needed a little Raptor in our day....
It looks so beautiful ,thanks for sharing.🛫
Thanks for the quick update Peter. Always great to see the Raptor in action.

If it looks right........., your bird is stunning!
Short and sweet.
I appreciate the upload.
Sounds and looks like a great aircraft. Cheers
Awesome stuff , have fun at oshkosh. Hope to you have a safe flight to Idaho.
You'll find real mountains when you get up here to the Pacific Northwest. Really miss your progress videos Peter.
The Raptor is a fine looking aircraft, I'm always happy to see it.
Good to see things still going well!
No Raptor at Oshkosh? That's a shame. Maybe one day, eh?
Yeah, I thought that would be the natural pilgrimage for Peter and the plane.
Great to see you back Peter.
glad to see another video!!! Hope all is progressing well. So what is next on the agenda?
@Marvi Wilson LOL
Thanks for the quick update..
Good you are still flying. See ya at Oshkosh
I love the outside shot. Thanks! 👍🏼

BEAUTIFUL AIRCRAFT! Amazing to witness the entire process.
Thanks you for the video.
How's work on the Pressurising Testing going?
There is a sense that final pressure testing will be completed on Prototype #2.
Nice Peter! Safe travels! 👏
Be proud of your work man... god... so mush work.
Damn what's really looking forward to seeing you at osh kosh me and my family are all flying up there too
Very cool.
Good to see you again, how was she in the Landing/Take off speed at altitude ?
Thanks for the eye candy... Are you going to be presenting at Oshkosh?

Looks like you got your Operating Limitations straightened out.
Did I see one of these in yellow on the Sunshine Coast in the air this week? I swear it did and has no idea what it was, so here I am haha

Nice!
A beautiful bird ! I bet it handles well ?
I'm happy to see it's still doing well. Do you have any intention of painting it or are you just going to keep it solid white?
White is actually the best color. Reflects the most heat.
You definitely want the most reflective color on a composite airframe.
Oshkosk 2022 I'm sure she'll be ready for spectacular debut...cheers, get a wooly one up ya
Hi Raptorman!
Looks really good Peter, those long winglets look like two white pointers riding shotgun. Love it.
That’s amazing!
Glad you're ok and pushing on with the program!
Dope
Glad you are ok! now repair the bird and put a proven aircraft engine! and you will be all set.
Maybe covid19 got The Dutton afterall?
Fresh news.... flying !!
I hope the airframe is intact. Would hate to see Peter have to start from scratch again...
NICE. good job peter
Yay
Sweet
Sorry to hear about your prang Peter, glad to hear you are uninjured. Hope that your bird can be repaired!
