winter actually doesn't end up with anybody,and snowfox was in darkstalkers era, meaning shes dead lol XD common mistake though, when i first read it i shipped winter and lynx SO MUCH.
What good would that have done? Winter doesn’t have to know, and if he did then he just might end up having a dilemma of whether or not he should strangle a baby. Telling Winter would just cause bad unnecessary problems. His buddies don’t owe him that secret.
@@FeistyFlicker314 It is true that Winter is impulsive and pretty much feeble-minded, but I still don't find it somewhat justifiable about how his friends still didn't tell him that. I agree with you that it would probably make things worse, but again it isn't right to keep secrets, especially when it's about Darkstalker who almost wiped out Winter's tribe.

@FeistyFlicker314 I kind of doubt that Winter will kill Peacemaker considering that he hesitated to kill a polar bear because it had cubs. He would definitely be upset and be against the transformation but I don't find it likely that he would kill Peacemaker (especially since, as far as we know, he's never killed anyone). And even if it is for the best that Winter never knows the truth, the reasons for the Jade Winglet not telling him feels wrong because they don't trust him and yet the jade winglet (and the narrative) still considers him their "friend" and demands that he trusts them. In addition, considering the fact that Darkstalker attempted to wipe out Winter's tribe and magically forced Winter to like him, I do feel that he is owed the truth so that he would be given proper closure relating to his trauma with Darkstalker.
Anyone else notice the detail at 0:43 where the cloud in between Moon and Winter is a heart which symbolizes Winter's love for Moon? And how Qibli getting between them and blocking the heart cloud is basically him separating her from Winter? Clever little detail.
I love the story boarding in this so much! The way you’ve portrayed every character in a way that doesn’t villainize any one of them is so interesting. Towards the beginning it seemed like Qibli would be portrayed as a girl-stealer, but you showed how it wasn’t the case and how it was merely the result of time spent happily together. And you didn’t make it seem like Winter was at fault, just aloof and lonely. Then Moon was being friendly and ended up matching with someone other than Winter. It’s so easy to see nothing but the extremes of, “It was only bad writing that led to Winterwatcher not being canon,” and “Winter was a toxic jerk to Moon.” At the end of the day, these are just kids finding out who they are and who they want to be with, and you showed that without bias, despite one character being the center of the animatic. That takes skill, and clearly you have a lot!
Good grief am I glad I subscribed. This is perfection. Ma ol’ heart breaks for Winter. He deserves happiness. Moon wouldn’t have made him happy in the long run but man do I wish he got treated better. Poor baby. What a phenomenal animation.
Yeah but in the comic book it reveals that moon and winter can and still are canon because winter has heart thumps everytime he touches her, everyone needs to be mature enough to know that boys and girls can be SUPER close “romantic” BEST FRIENDS and nothing more, qibli is stated from the author that he will be canon with a female sandwing unlike no one else which means it could and has to be sunny so even tho they seem like a cute couple together with moon, it’s not canon
Ok, unpopular opinion, but....I don't think Winters' character development was forgotten Yes, he still yells at his friends once in a while, but the difference is that now he has VERY justifiable reasons for doing so In Book 8 when he yells at Turtle for keeping his magic secret: The idea that someone COULD help their Queen & Kingdom & doesn't is inconceivable to an IceWing Later in Book 8 when he yells at Moon for saying they should free Darkstalker: Not only is that a perfectly reasonable response to hearing someone want to summon an ancient evil, but he was %100 right Anytime when he was under Darkstalkers' spell: Doesn't count, he wasn't himself The big blow up when he hears Moon genuinely likes Darkstalker that the Book, Characters & Fanbase see as the worst thing he ever did: How would you react if someone try to defend a guy who just tried to kill off your entire species? Oh, & again HE WAS %100 IN THE RIGHT! It seems to me that it's less of a case of forgetful writing & more a case of the books blowing his blow ups out of proportion
Yeah I don’t think his character development was forgotten either. He just didn’t develop into the dragon Zuko like everyone expected he would. He went as far as realizing that he was happier with the dragons from other tribes he met and he was in his kingdom, but not so far as to treat those dragons with equal respect. He still had that aura going of him thinking he was better than the others and shouldn’t have to apologize for how he treated them before and that they should welcome him back with open arms. Even though he turned out to be right about Darkstalker being evil, he only had ancient stories to go off of instead of real evidence to suggest so. He was more focused on keeping Darkstalker trapped in the mountain because he thought Darkstalker deserved to suffer than he was because he thought Darkstalker was dangerous. Winter was in a “right for the wrong reasons” kind of position on that one. He also yelled in rage at Moon for trusting Darkstalker before he actually said anything about how Darkstalker brainwashed everyone and tried to wipe out his tribe, which he knew that Moon didn’t know about. He definitely didn’t lose his character development, but the books didn’t blow him out of proportion either.
@@FeistyFlicker314 At bear minimum, what Moon DID know is that Darkstalker manipulated his mind, literally brainwashing him to liking him, which was definitely, absolutely, 100% a horrible thing to do and frankly proved unequivocally that Moon and Qibli are not his friends, irrespective of their claims otherwise; Something only further compounded by their treatment of him throughout. Another item worth mentioning here, incidentally, is that Qibli did in fact know, and still ran defense for Darkstalker with the only possible rationale I can think of being to look good in front of Moon... Which needless to say really suggests some horrible things about him, even outside of his treatment of Winter in that moment. Honestly, the big tragedy to me is that at the end of all of that, Winter still considers them friends and blame himself... He traded one emotionally abusive family for another.

Ah, Winter. A forgotten character by Tui and his friends. But no wonder in the end only Winter would not be the hypocrite "the end justifies the means." his friends said and did. Only he wouldn't want Darkstalker to be turned into another dragon so Tui got rid of him so there would be no "problem".
The fact that love triangles are just so confusing is what makes this so much better than it is It’s like, moon has to pick between a silly goofy sand dragon and queen glaciers nephew, Winter. My theory is that if winter and moon actually did become a relationship canonically, it would be a toxic relationship. Winter is in denial because he’s in love with moon, but he keeps refusing to like her. Qibli is a humorous sandwing who really does love moon and, canonically won her over but then they broke up because Qibli found out ostrich likes him so likeee. Also, this animation is practically about how Winter, who was being happy with Moon, but then all of a sudden Qibli joins the chat and ruins Winters life. That is what I like about this animation. It tells a story, and it makes it look like one of the best edits in history.
I enjoyed the unspoken attraction between Winter and Kinkajou 😂 despite him not being Kinkajou was totally twitterpated over his cold broody seriousness like a highschool teenager 😂
This beautifully animated music video expresses how Winter was pressured by his strict tribe, and responded by acting rude to it, eventually discovering his love for a Nightwing ,to realize his Sandwing clawmate was a dragon that treated her better. In every scenario, Winter is shown as an irritated dragon, indicating that he always managed to find a way to be negative and pessimistic. At the end, where the trio is at Possibility, and where the animation shows Winter escalating to the Ice Kingdom with his brother, Hailstorm, it shows Hailstorm distressed, indicating the whole Pyrite dilemma. The somewhat wholehearted quote from Winter was a delicious cherry on top!

awhhh i feel so bad for Winter. It's so sad that the only dragons he can't associate bad stuff with in the ice kingdom is lynx and hailstorm. Im really glad he and crystal found their own little happy endings in sanctuary, far from the ice kingdom.

awhhh i feel so bad for Winter. It's so sad that the only dragons he can't associate bad stuff with in the ice kingdom is lynx and hailstorm. Im really glad he and crystal found their own little happy endings in sanctuary, far from the ice kingdom.
