Clock 3.83 FWR Average (WR14)

As of 17/2/24, I’m ranked WR14, CR2, NR1 for average
(3.39), (3.95), 3.93, 3.82, 3.74 = 3.83
Method: 7simul (Tommy)
Comp: Corduff Cubing Saturday 2024
I’m actually at a loss for words.
I don’t think I ever thought about getting an average like this officially in the last almost 5 years of cubing. Sure, I’d jokingly say ‘sub 4 average trust’ but I’d never actually believe it’d happen
My previous PR average stood at 5.41, over a second slower than my global placing me around 185th~ in the world, whereas I have an amazing single officially (WR21 now) that I don’t think I’ll beat for another while
FWR average at the start of 2024 was 4.66, from the start I knew that I wanted to beat it atleast once sometime soon
Magdalena got a 4.35 FWR average last week, however Chiara did have FWR average of 4.54 for an hour or so until she got keaton’d :(
I practiced very very very little for this comp, so I kind of expected nothing
I did set a goal of a sub 5 average a couple days before
In round 1 I did so unbelievably horrible it was actually disgusting
DNFed my first solve leading me to having to safety the rest of an average, but I still got a 5.53 PR2 average
Finals came, I didn’t really know what to expect
Scrambles turned out to be pretty nice and I turned well somehow!!!
After I got a 3 on the first 3 solves I was actually sharting my pants because I knew that there was a huge chance of a sub 4 average
But thankfully I got another 3 on my 4th locking in a sub 4 average!!
I expected WPA going into last but I got a 3.74 instead, getting a 3.83 average (0.02 off AsR!)
I’m still in disbelief and this was like 4 hours ago, I won’t be getting over this for a while
Never expected my first sub 5 average to be a sub 4 :skull:
