Been years since I’ve been down to lKeokuk to watch tows lock thru. The gate on the north end that has the cross walk will have fish on it when it comes up out of the water. I’ve seen the lock workers scoot the fish off the walk back into the water. Always thought working on the Keokuk lock would be an awesome job. Very good video.
I've got pictures from the last anniversary open house in the power plant, I have had zero notifications that anything was happening with this video, just saw it's over 11 thousand views and had comments. Wasn't ignoring anyone, just didn't realize you were here haha
still watching, ya won me when ya made friends with a jumping spider then just moved it on, they are very fun spiders indeed, and loving this view of lock 19, great work!
They've opened it for the anniversaries. I live up at the top of the bluff from the lock. I didn't know there was so many views and any replies, I will dig around through what I have and get a follow up for other things I have from the powerhouse, it's the part I really think is cool
It should be the same, maybe it's how it looks from the angle i was at. They just open the valves and it levels itself out to fill to the "high side" (North end) and then it drops to the "low side" (South end)

How cool is this to see what goes on at the north end! Thanks so much!
Well-done! Filled-in a few questions I have wondered about since starting to watch the live camera. Thank you!! Ottawa, Canada

That little spider was just doing its thing, I've watched videos of them, and I'm not sure they aren't just playful lol
What a great video. Thanks!
I'll get another one put together with pictures and things I've got, I have some powerhouse stuff that is pretty interesting
Nice video
Thanks!
I'bet getting that spider off would make good video.
GOOD ONE. THANX
You're welcome!
This is the first time I have seen the gate go down.
Before 9-11 you could walk across the lock and look at the old lock and Dry dock.

And the blower goes on
The water in the lock is higher than the pond.

I just found out how to use UA-cam to get Lock 19 and I think it’s awesome. 28:33
