I wanted to express my thanks for your videos. I got some Staninless/Black/Red from Lonestar Adhesives and have been struggling as I never took the speed above 400 in my material tests. It was resulting in lots of black residue that was very difficult to remove. I'm running a Thunder 35/80 so I just increased power by 20% to get in the ballpark of your 100 watt machine and bang perfect red engraves are coming through. I appreciate you still coming out with new videos for those of still in the glass tube CO2 gantry world.
I'm still struggling with this Robert. I can get all shades of blue and even grays, but the red is *kicking my butt.* The best I'm getting on both a 30W diode and a 90W Co2 is a dark burgundy.
Usually if you’re getting a dark color or grey when it should be a bright color it is air flow related. Any Air flow is an absolute killer to this stuff. Be sure your air is as low or off as it can go without risking damage to your lens. Reach out to computercreations@charter.net and we can chat better if you’re still having problems. Also I find de focusing your lens buy 1 to 2 mm helps as well. Reach out let’s get you dialed in!
@@computercreationz I've found that out, but I'm really not a fan of turning off the air. I do have 2-stage on the Co2 and I have the engraving at the bare min, but even with the air off, I'm not getting a bright red. I have found that using 2 sub layers works best at min power, but that's a lot of job time for me.
Been meaning to experiment with this for a while. Great timing! 😂 I cannot find the white/blue/red tri-color acrylic on the Rowmark site however, is it a sub-brand of theirs?
I made a lot of laser jobs for the local school athletes (anonymously so they just know someone in the community cares) Lately the acrylic pops and cracks no matter what I do. Did I get a bad batch of acrylic?
What are you cleaning your acrylic with? Anything that has an alcohol base with damage the acrylic, dawn power was is one that I see recommend all the time but it has alcohol in it.
Thank you! I've been searching and searching for something on this tri color!
Glad I could help!
